The rap chart war between 50 CENT and KANYE WEST is on again - the pair’s new albums will be released a week apart in December (08).
West won the last battle when his album Graduation outsold his chart rival’s Curtis last year (Sep07), after both records were released on the same day.
And now the rappers are set for a pre-Christmas showdown, with Interscope record bosses confirming 50’s new album, Before I Self Destruct, will hit stores on 9 December (08) - a week before the release of West’s 808’s & Heartbreak.
West’s fighting talk has already started - in a blog posting on Friday (19Sep08), the Jesus Walks hitmaker writes, "I guarantee this (808’s & Heartbreak) will be 50’s favorite album of mine. This will be gangster’s album of the year."

PAMELA ANDERSON has teamed up with animal rights activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) - to encourage A-list stars to shun fashion designer GIORGIO ARMANI.
The blonde animal rights activist is rallying for the organisation’s disapproval of the Italian designer, after he reportedly fell through on his promises to PETA last year (08) to drop fur from his clothes.
PETA President Dan Matthews tells the New York Post that Anderson will reveal plans on Saturday (20Sat08) in Italy to put "stars who attend Armani shows in the hot seat", urging them to wear the red carpet creations of other designers during the upcoming awards season.
He adds: "We feel betrayed. I have met with Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and many other designers who once used fur but had a change of heart, and not one of them broke their promise."

ALEC BALDWIN raged at revered U.S. newswoman DIANE SAWYER during a candid interview, which aired on TV on Friday night (19Sep08), when she quizzed him about an infamous answer machine message he left his daughter IRELAND in 2007.
The actor admitted he was stunned when the message he left for his 11 year old was made public.
Speaking on news show 20/20, Baldwin told Sawyer, "It (message) was left with the presumption of privacy." And when the interviewer suggested the angry message, in which Baldwin called his daughter "a thoughtless little pig," was uncalled for, the movie star became angry.
He asked, "Why do you so reflexively dismiss that notion? I mean you carelessly dismiss that notion." Sawyer tried to protest, asking Baldwin how he felt as a father after the message was made public.
He responded curtly, "There are a myriad of both men and women who say things that are unfortunate and are mistakes to their children." The emotional interview led to tears as Baldwin recalled feeling so low after the controversy of the leaked answer machine message he contemplated suicide.
Wiping tears away, he told Sawyer, "I completely lost interest in my own life, truly, as a result of all this.
"I used to pray to God every night, I would get in bed and I would say, ‘Please don’t let me wake up in the morning.’ I thought, ‘I just can’t do it any more.’" In a new book, titled A Promise To Ourselves, Baldwin details just how far he went in planning his own death, searching out state parks and out-of-the-way towns where he could take his own life quietly.

LINDSAY LOHAN has turned down a lucrative offer to pose nude for Playboy magazine.
The actress, who bared all for a provocative New York magazine spread earlier this year (08), insists she won’t be peeling off again for Playboy’s upcoming 55th anniversary issue.
A representative for the Mean Girls star says, "If there’s nudity, the answer is no. She’s not going down that road again." Playboy boss Hugh Hefner reportedly wanted Lohan to pay tribute to Marilyn Monroe in the anniversary issue. The actress recreated Monroe’s candid final photoshoot for New York magazine.

TOM CRUISE’s United Artists (UA) studio will retain its $500 million (£270.3million) film-financing fund despite a Wall Street meltdown reportedly putting the deal in jeapordy.
Financial services firm Merrill Lynch offered UA the sum at the end of last year (07), but studio bosses feared the current volatile financial situation in the U.S. would force the company to pull out of the funding deal since they were acquired by Bank of America earlier this week (15Sep08).
According to the New York Post, bosses at Merrill Lynch were looking for ways to revise the £500 million deal after Cruise’s partner, Paula Wagner, left her role as CEO of the studio this summer (08).
UA’s parent company Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer set out to raise film financing amid Wagner’s move, reportedly even considering selling the studio in August (08).
A spokesperson for MGM says, "The UA film financing agreement was closed last year. The terms are set and will not change. All of the funds are available to UA." But insiders tell the New York Post UA may have to wait for their cash.
A source tells the newspaper, "Reworking a $500 million (£270.3million) credit line for UA is going to be way down (Bank of America’s) list of things to do. It could take six months to a year before they even get around to looking at it."

SEX & THE CITY actor JOE PETCKA faces a two-year jail spell after allegedly beating his girlfriend’s pet cat to death.
The actor, who played Sean Sullivan in the TV series, has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals after allegedly attacking girlfriend Lisa Altobelli’s cat during a drunken fight on Thursday (18Sep08).
But Petcka’s lawyer tells the New York Post his client was the victim, stating, "The cat bit him, then any injuries to the cat were in response to being bit."

Country music star CRAIG MORGAN was left stunned during a concert for U.S.
troops and their families on Thursday night (18Sep08) - after learning he had been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.

Lucky rocker ARNEL PINEDA’s dream of fronting rock supergroup JOURNEY has turned into a nightmare - he’s struggling to cope with the band’s touring demands.
The Philippines native was fronting a Journey tribute act, called Zoo, when guitarist Neal Schon called to offer him the job of replacing Jeff Scott Soto last year (07).
Schon discovered Pineda when fans urged him to check out a Zoo video performance posted on website YouTube.com.
The lucky singer was initially ecstatic at the prospect of fronting Journey, stating, "It’s so exciting to sing with one of the best bands in the world.
It’ll be a lot of hard work on my part and I’m actually looking forward to the scrutiny I’ll get from the hardcore fans." But it appears the pressure has got to him. He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "There are days I just break down and cry. This is a job I’m doing for my family. That’s all the consolation I’m getting.”

Singer NATALIE COLE has spent the past week in a New York hospital after suffering a setback in her battle with hepatitis C.
The soul star was diagnosed with the blood disease at the beginning of the summer (08) and she recently told U.S. TV show Entertainment Tonight how weekly chemotherapy was leaving her drained.
The treatments have also been costing Cole her hair. In an exclusive E.T.
interview, which aired earlier this month (Sep08), Cole said, "I do chemo every week… and we are going to go for it and cut off all my hair." She added, "The timing of all this couldn’t be worse because of my (new) record coming out. What you do is rally and you have a great group of people rally around you."
