LABEOUF GRATEFUL TO HAVE SURVIVED CAR SMASH
SHIA LaBEOUF feels lucky and grateful to have survived the 27 July (08) car crash that left him with a crushed hand.
The actor was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) after the smash in Hollywood; police later ruled the other driver was at fault, for running a red light.
The 22-year-old actor is preparing for a second operation to fix his "mashed" fingers - but he considers himself lucky because only his hand was hurt.
LaBeouf says, "It could have been something else. The car hit me at 70 miles per hour.
"It was one of the biggest things that’s happened to me, for sure, in my life. I’m grateful to be here."
