POLICE BAFFLED BY WEST’S ARREST
LATEST: Police officers investigating KANYE WEST’s recent scuffle with a photographer admit they have "no idea" what sparked the incident.
The Stronger hitmaker and his bodyguard were arrested on felony vandalism charges after allegedly attacking a photographer and smashing his equipment during a fracas at Los Angeles’ LAX airport on Thursday (11Sep08) morning.
West spent several hours in police custody before he was released on $20,000 (£10,800) bail.
But officers investigating the case insist they still don’t know what caused the scuffle.
Sergeant Jim Holcomb, of the L.A. Police Department’s Airport Division, tells E! News, "I have no idea. I didn’t know who he (West) was until the day this happened.
"You saw the tape, I have no idea what set him off. I’ve got nothing left.
There’s nothing more to add until they go to court." West has now spoken out about the incident, but has failed to reveal the exact details about the row. He writes on his official website, "I’m cool with the paparazzi. This guy wasn’t cool." West and his minder are due to appear in court on 2 October (08).
