BERNAL AND GIRLFRIEND ARE EXPECTING A BABY BOY
LATEST: Mexican actor GAEL GARCIA BERNAL and his actress girlfriend DELORES FONZI are expecting a baby boy.
Bernal and Argentine Fonzi have refused to discuss the baby’s gender, since announcing the actress’ pregnancy last month (Aug08).
But Fernando Meirelles, who directed Bernal in new movie Blindness, made the announcement on his friend’s behalf at the Toronto FIlm Festival in Canada over the weekend (6-7Sep08).
Meirelles told People.com, "It’s a chico! A boy. I was talking to him about (the baby) today and he’s so excited. He said he’s had time to prepare and he’s really looking forward to it." The child will be the first for the couple, who reportedly met and fell in love while shooting the movie Vidas Privadas in 2001.
A due date is unknown.
