BRITISH DJ RELEASED FROM DUBAI PRISON
A British DJ has been released from jail in Dubai after serving 10 month behind bars for cannabis possession.
BBC Radio One DJ Grooverider - real name Raymond Bingham - was arrested in November last year (07) after being caught with 2.16 grams of cannabis at an airport.
He claimed the drugs stash was in the pocket of a pair of trousers and he had forgotten about it.
He was sentenced to four years in February (08) but was set free after being pardoned by the Dubai royal family.
Bingham has now returned to the U.K. A spokesman for the BBC says, " Grooverider has paid a very high price for a serious mistake."
