PHILLIPS CHARGED IN DRUG CASE, ENTERS REHAB
LATEST: Actress MACKENZIE PHILLIPS has reportedly entered rehab after a judge in Los Angeles slapped her with felony charges stemming from her arrest last month (Aug08) for possession of a controlled substance.
Phillips, 48, was charged with two felonies and a misdemeanour on Wednesday (03Sep08) in connection with the arrest, which was made at Los Angeles’ LAX airport after the actress failed a routine security screening there on 27 August (08).
According to website TMZ.com, Phillips, who is charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, heroin and cocaine, and one misdemeanor count of unauthorised possession of a needle or syringe - has entered an unknown rehabilitation facility in an effort to get clean.
Following her arrest, Phillips spent a night behind bars before she was released on bail. She is scheduled to be arraigned in October (08).
