SHOOT ON SIGHT SLAMMED BY VICTIM’S PARENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:39 pm

The producers of new movie SHOOT ON SIGHT have been condemned by the parents of a victim of the 2005 London bombings.
The film is about an innocent Muslim mistaken for a terrorist and shot dead on the London Tube by the Met Police - a script that closely mirrors the fate of Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes.
But the parents of Carrie Taylor, who was killed during the 7/7 bombings believe the movie only exploits de Menezes death.
John Taylor says, "I think that showing this in cinemas can only add to the distress and grief felt by the De Menezes family and the survivors of 7/7 and those who lost loved ones on that day.
"The hurt and pain doesn’t go away overnight. Films like this only serve to stir up those painful memories.
"I feel the film paints a picture of the police as being incompetent and biased." He adds, "But ultimately it wasn’t the predictable plot or poor acting that caused offence to me but the cynical attempt to make money from a tragic event." Shoot on Sight producer Aron Govill says: "We are not taking sides, just making a dramatic thriller and trying to explore racial bias."
