REID LAUNCHES FLIRTY FASHION LINE
TARA REID has abandoned hopes of reviving her acting career and is launching her own fashion line in a bid broaden her appeal.
The American Pie star debuted Mantra - a collection of swimsuits and casual wear decorated with beads and charms - in Las Vegas on Monday (25Aug08).
She says, "I feel like I’m in a really great place in my life, and I love what I’m doing
. I love acting but I can’t hire myself
. If this works, then we’re in business
. If not, I tried." And Reid is looking to the line for inspiration in other areas of her life.
She adds, "It’s about putting into the universe what you want in life: Red means love, pink is friendship, green is lucky, black is protection
. You’re gonna have a story when you wear this bikini or when you put this dress on: You’ll either get love or meet a new friend or you might meet a guy." And if the actress’ colour palette doesn’t help, Reid has developed another solution; her swimsuits feature flirty messages including "Catch Me If You Can" and "Single and Ready to Mingle"
