PEACHES GELDOF: ‘STOP COMPARING ME TO MY MOTHER’
SIR BOB GELDOF’s daughter PEACHES is urging the media to stop writing stories about her late mother PAULA YATES - insisting the comparisons are "sick" and "hurtful".
Yates died of an accidental heroin overdose in 2000 when Peaches was 11 years old.
The 19-year-old socialite has been at the centre of a string of alleged drug scandals since the tragedy.
Most recently she was said to have been found unconscious in her North London flat after suffering a suspected heroin overdose - which she has forcefully denied.
The reports have led to speculation Peaches is going down the same road as her mother - but she insists the comparisons have to stop.
She says, "There are some things that really disconcert me, one is the constant comparisons to my mother. The journalists who write this don’t ever step back and think, ‘How bizarre, I’m comparing a 19-year-old I have never met to her dead mother’. "Do they never think how sick that is? It’s my dead mother, and I don’t want people writing about that. It’s wrong and it’s hurtful to keep bringing it up."
