Acting legend MORGAN FREEMAN is puzzled by reports he’s splitting from his wife of 24 years, after denying allegations of their alleged impending divorce.
Freeman, 71, and his wife Myrna - who share a home in rural Mississippi were rumoured to have consulted a divorce lawyer after reports alleged the actor was unfaithful.
But Freeman was shocked to hear reports of his rumoured break-up from his wife when quizzed about his marital status at an event last week (26Jun08).
He insisted, "I don’t know anything about that (filing for divorce)." A spokesperson for the Wanted star added: "We officially have no comment." Freeman married Myrna - his second wife - in June 1984. The actor also shares two children with his first wife of 12 years, Jeanette Adair Bradshaw.

BRITNEY SPEARS’ acclaimed stint on U.S. sitcom HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER hasn’t earned her an Emmy nod - she and MARY-KATE OLSEN’s guest TV spots won’t be among those competing for gold.
Both stars have been left off the top 10 list of Emmy semifinalists in the Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series category.
Instead, Sarah Silverman is a favourite for her part as an obsessed stalker in Monk, alongside Oscar nominee Amy Ryan for her star turn in The Office.
Others on the list include Carrie Fisher and Edie Falco for 30 Rock, and Polly Bergen and Shirley Knight for Desperate Housewives guest spots.

UMA THURMAN welcomed famous pals SIR ELTON JOHN, STING, CLAUDIA SCHIFFER and SIR BOB GELDOF to a lavish garden party on Tuesday (01Jul08) to celebrate her engagement to boyfriend ARPAD BUSSON.

British royals PRINCES WILLIAM and HARRY’s love of sport has landed them a chance to make a cameo appearance in an upcoming film about professional polo players.
Writer David Marlett is working on his latest film Of Kings and Cowboys - a drama centred around the international polo circuit and he’s hoping the royal British brothers’ penchant for the sport will lead them to sign up for guest roles in the project.
Marlett says, "There is a (proposed) scene in the movie with the royal family at the Guards Club, and we’d love to have princes William and Harry doing some cameos in the footage. It would heighten the realism." The film, which is scheduled to shoot in Argentina, Dubai, France and at the Guards Club at Windsor, England, is currently seeking distribution.

GORILLAS IN THE MIST star SIGOURNEY WEAVER was awestruck when she was offered membership into an ‘exclusive club’ after a trip to Africa - because the only requirement was to have survived an attack by a wild gorilla.
Weaver was shooting a documentary about the horrors of gorilla poaching in 1988 when she was charged by an ape - and lived to tell the tale.
She later discovered only a few people had escaped a gorilla attack.
Still haunted by her life-threatening experience, Weaver says, "I was charged by a silverback (gorilla) - he was in a bad mood. We should’ve known that.
"Usually he didn’t pay any attention to me. He was about 450 pounds. And all of a sudden he got up, he beat his chest, he came roaring right up the hill toward me… and he knocked me down.
"I crawled away through the brush and ran into someone from the research centre who said, `You’ve just joined a very exclusive club. You’ve just been hit by a silverback gorilla.’"

Actor JAKE GYLLENHAAL will join his sister MAGGIE at one of THE DARK KNIGHT premieres in a bid to pay tribute to his BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN co-star and friend HEATH LEDGER.
Jake Gyllenhaal, the godfather of Ledger’s two-year-old daughter with Michelle Williams, is planning to attend one of the upcoming U.S. premieres.
He’ll support his sister Maggie, who worked with tragic Ledger on the new Batman film.
A source tells OK! magazine, "Jake is debating coming to the New York city premiere or waiting to be Maggie’s date at an L.A. (Los Angeles) screening.
"He wants this to be something positive that will celebrate the role of a lifetime and a performance of which Heath was so proud." Ledger’s parents and sister are also expected to jet to New York from their home in Perth, Australia, to attend the New York premiere on 14 July (08).

GYM CLASS HEROES frontman TRAVIS McCOY has been arrested on assault charges in St. Louis, Missouri after lashing out a fan during a concert.
The band was midway through a show on Tuesday night (01Jul08) when McCoy reportedly took offence to an audience member’s racial slurs, and invited the concertgoer onstage.
When the unnamed man lunged at the singer, McCoy went on the attack, whacking the fan on the head with a microphone.
Immediately after the altercation, McCoy apologised to the audience, stating, "When someone calls you something that’s ignorant and that offensive, you have to bash their head in with a microphone." Maryland Heights Missouri Police Department officials later arrested McCoy, who was released on $500 (£250) bail.

LATEST: RODNEY ‘DARKCHILD’ JERKINS’ is backing Britney Spears to overcome her personal problems and resurrect her stalled music career.
Acclaimed producer Jerkins has praised Spears’ "professional" attitude after they recorded tracks for her new album.
The Toxic singer went into meltdown last year (07) after the breakdown of her marriage to ex-husband Kevin Federline - who she is currently fighting through the courts for custody of their children.
But Jerkins says Spears was fully focused and quickly completed several songs during a recent studio session.
