INDIA.ARIE LANDS HER FIRST BROADWAY ROLE
Singer INDIA.ARIE is to make her Broadway debut in a revival of NTOZAKE SHANGE’s FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE WHEN THE RAINBOW IS ENUF.
Whoopi Goldberg is one of the producers of the play, which earned actress Trazana Beverley a Tony Award in 1977.
Arie isn’t the only R&B star destined for Broadway stardomthis summer Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day has signed on to play catty Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray throughout the summer (08).
She’ll join former O-Town pin-up Ashley Parker Angel in the hit musical from 18 July (08) until the end of August (08).
Irie’s debut will begin in August (08).
