DEEP PURPLE STAR GLOVER MOURNS MOTHER
DEEP PURPLE bassist ROGER GLOVER is in mourning for his mother, who lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday (10Jun08).
The star took an extended hiatus from the reformed rock group after his mother Brenda was diagnosed with the deadly disease, and has spent most of this year (08) looking after her.
Glover posted an announcement of the sad news on his official website, stating: "My mother, Brenda Glover, passed away on the 10th June, 2008.
"She was 86 and spent two and a half years fighting cancer. My life has been put on hold for the last three months as my sister Christine and I have been caring for her in her home in the U.K. I am deeply indebted to my bandmates for allowing me this time off. Everyone’s mother is special but Brenda had a way of being a special mother to everyone. I am a fortunate son indeed."
