TUNSTALL TAKES AIM AT SCOTTISH KFC BOSSES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:18 pm

Singer KT TUNSTALL is spearheading a new campaign to stop chicken cruelty in her native Scotland.
Tunstall has become the latest star to sign up as a People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals advocate in the animal rights organisation’s war with fast food chain KFC.
The Brit Award winner has sent letters to managers of every KFC restaurant in Scotland asking for their help in pressuring the company to stop its suppliers’ worst abuses of chickens.
She writes, "As a KFC manager, you can help make positive changes for chickens by letting Yum! UK Managing Director Martin Shucker know that you don’t want to sell chickens who have been crippled, abused and scalded to death." Officials at PETA’s youth offshoot, peta2, claim an estimated one billion chickens killed each year for KFC are tortured in ways that would result in cruelty charges if other animals were the victims.
A spokesman says, "They are drugged and bred to grow so large that many become crippled from the weight of their massive upper bodies. Their throats are cut while they are still conscious, and many are scalded to death in defeathering tanks." Other stars who have taken part if the PETA vs KFC war include PAMELA ANDERSON, PINK and actor RYAN GOSLING.
