THE FRATELLIS THANK DALTREY FOR SUPPORT
Rockers THE FRATELLIS have thanked THE WHO frontman ROGER DALTREY for his tireless efforts in publicly promoting their band.
The Scottish rockers first teamed up with Daltrey, 64, for an onstage collaboration at this year’s (Apr08) Teenage Cancer Trust charity concert - an annual London event organised by Daltrey.
Introducing the band before their performance, Daltrey honoured the trio with the ultimate accolade - a comparison to The Who themselves.
Frontman Jon Fratelli says, "Roger’s an incredibly generous man who has helped so much. He said, ‘If The Who had come from Scotland they’d have been called The Fratellis’.
"He knows by saying something like that it’s gonna get used everywhere and be massive boost to us. It’s opened many doors." Daltrey has even invited the Chelsea Dagger hitmakers to perform with The Who at a U.S. TV tribute to the 1960s legends next month (Jul08) - but the group will be on tour promoting their new album Here We Stand.
