Pringles grave

Posted in: Bizzare Stories — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:17 pm

The man responsible for the packaging of Pringles potato crisps has had his ashes buried in one of the cans he designed. US born Fredric J. Baur died in May this year, aged 89. He requested to be buried in one of the cans by having part of his cremated remains placed in a Pringles container.
More ashes were buried in an urn with the can, with more ashes placed in urns given to his grandson and daughter. Baur was especially proud of his design for the Pringles can, a cardboard cylinder with a metal bottom and a tight plastic lid. Baur filed for a patent for the tubular Pringles container and for the method of packaging the curved, stacked chips in the container in 1966.
