HEATH LEDGER’s THE DARK KNIGHT Co-star CHRISTIAN BALE has finally opened up about the tragic death of the Aussie actor, calling hisfriend’s final full performance "incredibly intense".
Bale, who plays Batman to Ledger’s the Joker villain in the much-anticipated sequel, feels sure the late actor’s performance will help stamp his reputation as an incredible talent.
Bale tells the new Details magazine, "He (Ledger) was incredibly intense in his performance but incredibly mellow and laidback.
"Certainly there was this great anarchistic streak to it (performance as the Joker) - just getting dirtier than anybody’s envisioned the Joker before.
"Naturally it was something I wanted to share with him. I can’t do anything else but hope that it will be an absolutely appropriate celebration of his work." Ledger died from a drug overdose in January (08).

The famous Jimmy Choo shoes SARAH JESSICA PARKER’s SEX AND THE CITY character lost on a ferry in an episode of the cult TV show in a 2000 episode have been brought out of the closet.
The feather-look strap heels were discontinued some years ago but Jimmy Choo founder and designer Tamara Mellon has put them back on store shelves to mark the release of Sex And The City: The Movie.
Mellon admits she owes a lot to the TV series, and was shocked when Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw helped establish her shoes brand on the show.
She recalls, "I was just watching the show like every other viewer and then you saw Sarah Jessica had lost her Choo and she was running to the ferry, shouting, `I’ve lost my Choo!’ "We brought the shoe back by popular demand." Mellon also designed the new Atlas shoe, which Parker wears in the new movie, along with other footwear designs for the film.

PAULA ABDUL’s dancing dreams have been shattered by the producer of AMERICAN IDOL - he doesn’t want his top judge appearing on rival show DANCING WITH THE STARS.
Abdul, a former choreographer, has made no secret of her desire to compete on Dancing With The Stars, revealing in a recent interview, "I’d be honoured. I want to wear the pretty dresses!" But Idol executive producer Nigel hates the idea of Abdul waltzing away to another show on a rival U.S. TV network.
He tells In Touch magazine, "As far as I’m concerned, Paula is American Idol and our judge. It’s like asking Simon (Cowell) to sing. Why would I want that? "It’s not that Paula wouldn’t be good at it. She would be brilliant. But she was a dancer, so why would a dancer go on a dancing show? That doesn’t seem fair to me!" But the opposition hasn’t put Abdul off: "I’m hypothetically thinking about it (Dancing With The Stars)."

R&B superstar USHER has slammed journalists determined to report untruths about his marriage to TAMEKA FOSTER - insisting his wife doesn’t deserve to be treated so harshly by the press.
The 29-year old singer wed stylist Foster last September (07) and the couple welcomed their first son Usher Raymond V two months later (Nov07).
But the Confessions star has been forced to defend his union on several occasions, admitting the backlash his wife has faced from both fans and the media has definitely "affected" him.
He says, "Of course a lot of what I read does affect me. There’s been a lot of untrue statements that have come out. One, my wife’s age. Two, her name.
She’s not a Foster, she’s a Raymond. I married her.
"Also, the fact that maybe there was some malicious intent on her part with my family or my mother. There’s a lot of transformations that have taken place in my life and unfortunately my wife got a bad beat for it. But I’m very happy.
"She’s not done anything in a negative way other than make me a better man in life. As a father, as a more conscious individual." Usher continued his rant on Tuesday’s TRL show on MTV, while he was co-hosting the show.
He raged, "I love my wife very very much and there has been a little rumour earlier this week about us separating; it ain’t true… As a matter of fact I’m tired of people continuing to talk so much trash about me… I’m a black strong men in America standing up to my people."

SHARON STONE left Chinese journalists stunned at the Cannes Film Festival in France last week (22May08) when she suggested the country’s recent earthquake was "karma".
The outspoken actress was talking to a Chinese media outlet on Thursday when she linked the recent disaster, which left more than 67,000 people dead, to China’s recent treatment of Tibetans.
She said, "All these earthquakes and stuff happened and I thought, `Is that karma?’ When you are not nice, bad things happen to you.
"I’m not happy about how the Chinese are treating the Tibetans, I don’t think anyone should be unkind to anyone else.
"They’re not being very nice to the Dali Lama, who’s a good friend of mine." Stone’s comments come after Chinese security forces attacked Tibetan monks and other ethnic Tibetans after a peaceful independence rally in March (08) turned violent.
The protests marked the annual anniversary of a failed Tibetan uprising against Chinese rule, which has been in place since 1951.
The violent incident, which left at least 16 people dead, prompted many countries to boycott part or all of the opening ceremonies for the Beijing Olympics in China later this summer (08).

CHRISTIAN BALE had to practice meditation to put on BATMAN’s batsuit - because he didn’t want claustrophobia to cost him the role. The movie star admits he was terrified the first time he had to be encased in the iconic black bodysuit and he had to overcome his fears.
He explains, "I was standing on the back lot where they were creating the suit, and I had a few minutes to myself… just thinking, `This isn’t going to work. I’m claustrophobic, I can’t breathe, I’m getting a headache already, and this is all going to go very badly.’" So Bale had to learn to relax and "breathe" as handlers strapped him into the batsuit.
He tells Details magazine, "I just said to myself, `Breathe deeply for a few minutes. Try this out. Don’t run around yelling and making an ass of yourself trying to pull the whole thing off.’ "I wasn’t going to get it off by myself. It takes three people. I just had flashes of what an asshole I would feel like saying, `Well, I wasn’t able to play that character, because I panicked every time I got in the suit.’"

Actress ASHLEY JUDD fears she’ll never have her own child because she’d feel too guilty about not adopting one of the millions of unwanted and orphaned children who need a home.
A global ambassador for the YouthAIDS organisation, Judd has travelled the world and has seen suffering children desperate for a family.
That and the parentless child statistics she knows by heart have forced her to think twice about having children with husband, racing car driver Dario Franchitti.
She explains, "The fact that there are 25 million AIDS orphans makes it hard to decide (to have kids).
"The fact that 11 million children will die this year before reaching their fifth birthdays makes it hard. We should be providing for the ones who are here."

SUPERMAN has joined Aussie soccer star-turned-actor ANTHONY LaPAGLIA’s all-star Los Angeles team, Hollywood United.
Actor Brandon Routh has signed up to play alongside Dermot Mulroney, Sex Pistols Steve Jones and Paul Cook and reggae stars Ziggy and Rohan Marley to take part in summer league matches and testimonials.
The all-star team is not without it’s former professionals - ex-Chelsea and French international Frank LeBoeuf and former Scotland goalkeeper Richard Gough also suit up for the team.
To mark the upcoming EURO 2008 UEFA European soccer championship, which begins on 7 June (08), Hollywood United will play a team of Swiss and Austrian Los Angeles-based personalities, called Alpine United, this weekend (01Jun08).

Bluesman JIMMY McGRIFF has died at a nursing home in New Jersey. He was 72.
The organist, a former Philadelphia, Pennsylvania police officer, was a student of blues greats Jimmy Smith and Richard Holmes.
He hit it big when his arrangement of Ray Charles’ I’ve Got A Woman became a hit in the early 1960s. He also enjoyed chart success with the follow-up, All About My Girl.
McGriff became a respected touring session man and used the cash from his successes to found a club in Newark, New Jersey.
He lived out his life battling multiple sclerosis and reportedly died from heart failure on Saturday (24May08).

Country star BILLY RAY CYRUS insists his teenage daughter MILEY will bounce back from her recent photo scandals - because she’s such a positive person.
The 15-year-old hit the headlines at the beginning of May (08) when revealing shots of her posing for Vanity Fair first appeared. The controversy came hot on the heels of a similar online scandal, when she appeared in provocative underwear shots.
Outrage from family groups and parents prompted Cyrus to apologise for the snapshots. But, despite reports the Hanna Montana star is hurt after taking a series of hits in May (08), her proud dad insists she won’t let all the criticism get her down.
He says, "The thing you got to look at in life, whether you’re an entertainer or whether you’re a farmer… whatever you do in life, there’s going to be peaks and valleys.
"I think one of the things my dad taught me and hopefully I instilled in Miley, is that when you get knocked down, you got to get back up because it’s not going to do any good to lie on the ground and cry about it.
"I think she has a lot to be proud of. I think the positive far outweighs the negative."

VELVET REVOLVER have scrapped plans to turn their search for a new singer into a reality TV show.
The rockers have been without a frontman since firing Scott Weiland at the beginning of April (08), and were toying with the idea of turning their hunt for his replacement into a TV talent contest.
Drummer Matt Sorum reveals several TV producers pitched the band the idea for the show.
He says, "We felt that wasn’t the right forum for us to do it, so we got some ideas and we should have that news in a couple weeks… and I think it’s going to surprise everybody."

TOM CRUISE has paid tribute to THE FIRM director SYDNEY POLLACK, admitting he will "miss him dearly".
Pollack died aged 73 on Monday (26May08), after a nine-month battle with cancer at his home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles.
And Cruise, who worked with the director/actor on 1993’s The Firm and Eyes Wide Shut in 1998, remembers the star as an "unpretentious" man.
He says, "Throughout the years, unpretentious and never condescending, he shared with me what he loved about family, storytelling, food, flying and a great bottle of vino (wine)." Cruise also looks back fondly on their first meeting, when Pollack patiently answered an up-and-coming Cruise’s eager questions for six-hours, even though he was busy editing his comedy classic Tootsie.
He explains, "I first met him while he was in the midst of editing Tootsie.
I’d seen every one of his pictures and he generously took the meeting.
"He was a Renaissance man and a great friend. I will miss him dearly."

KID ROCK has compared his marriage to ex-wife PAMELA ANDERSON to being "thrown under the bus" - because the experience was so traumatising.
The 36-year-old rocker - real name Robert Ritchie - married the blonde beauty in 2006, but their rocky relationship only lasted five months before they filed for divorce.
And Ritchie admits his time with Anderson was one of the most difficult periods of his life.
He says, "It (marriage) taught me a lot. I touched the stove, it’s f**king hot; it burnt the f**k out of my hand. I’m not going to touch the stove anymore." And the star - who has also dated rocker Sheryl Crow - claims his high-profile relationships have turned him off dating another celebrity in the future.
He adds, "I got burnt too hard. I got completely thrown under the bus, no question about that. I don’t want anything to do with the whole world she is in. It’s a very dark place.
"I’m not going to get caught up in any of that s**t anymore… those Hollywood relationships."

LATEST: Actress TORI SPELLING’s wish to reprise her role in hit TV show BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 has been granted - she will return to the part that shot her to fame in a new spin-off series.
The star - whose late father, TV producer Aaron Spelling, created the original show - has finally confirmed rumours she will be joining her pal Jennie Garth, who plays Kelly Taylor, in the forthcoming programme.
And she is excited at the prospect of returning "home" to see what happens to her character Donna Martin, who was last seen marrying her high school sweetheart David Silver in the 2000 series finale.
According to a show representative, Martin will "own one of the coolest stores in Beverly Hills", reports People.com.
Spelling says, "Donna Martin was such a huge part of my life. It’s going to be so fun to work with Jennie (Garth) again and see where Donna is today.
"Donna loved designing and wanted a career in fashion. It’ll be fun to explore that storyline. And, I’m sure fans will be dying to know if she’s still married to David! "When they say you can’t go home again, its not true. I’m headed back to the zip code I know best and couldn’t be happier!"

LINDSAY LOHAN’s father MICHAEL is cashing in on his ex-wife DINA’s new reality show LIVING LOHAN - by signing a magazine deal to air his views about the programme in a weekly column.
The TV show - which follows manager-mum Dina as she steers the careers of daughter Ali, 14 and her son Cody, 11 - premiered on America’s E! network at the weekend (24May08).
And Michael Lohan, who has opposed the show since its inception, is making sure his opinions are heard in his column for America’s OK! magazine.
In the first installment of Michael’s writings, he lashes out at ex-wife Dina - and admits that he is "concerned" by what he has seen so far of her parenting ethics.
But he is refusing to go into much detail just now.
He says, "Well, let’s see… If I were to look at things from a worldly perspective, I would probably have a lot to say about exploitation, hypocrisy and even deception - and maybe at a later date, I might just do so.
"I’ve had a sneak peek at some future episodes and I will say that some of the people Dina surrounds the kids with still concerns me - again, I can address that when they appear on the show." Michael, who served time in prison in 2005 after being found guilty of driving under the influence and other charges, also urges Dina to set a positive example to their kids.
He adds, "If this show is about the being a mother and a manager, the most important thing is to set a good example by instilling positive values, and doing what’s right for the kids’ sake. Not for our own!"

Rapper-turned-reality TV star FLAVOR FLAV has ruled out a fourth season of his hit show FLAVOR OF LOVE, after proposing to the mother of his youngest son during a TV special.
The Public Enemy star - real name William Drayton - has been searching for love on the popular dating programme for three years - but each of his relationships with the series’ winners have failed to last.
However, the rapper now admits that his ideal partner has been in front of him all this time - in the shape his former lover Liz, the mother of his son Karma.
And, after reuniting with series three winner Thing 2 on Flavor Of Love 3 Reunion - which aired on U.S. TV over America’s Memorial Day weekend (24-26May08) - he confessed to having strong feelings for Liz.
He told the audience, "Out of all my shows that I’ve done, this moment right here is the hardest for me. This is my third season of Flavor Of Love and everything, and I went through 65 women." He continued, "The best gift that a man can ever give a child is to love his mother, and you know, I do love his (Karma’s) mum." The 48-year-old star then brought out Liz and young Karma, before getting down on one knee and proposing to her.
He said: "By me doing these shows, everything that I’ve been looking for in a woman, it’s been right here within you all the time. Let me ask you this, will you marry me?" A delighted Liz replied, "Finally, finally, yes, I will."

LATEST: Studio bosses behind SEX AND THE CITY: THE MOVIE have come to the rescue of a die-hard fan, after discovering the woman had been conned out of $19,000 (£9,500) for what she thought was a ticket to the movie’s New York premiere and afterparty.
New Line Cinema executives rushed to replace the missing ticket to the event on Tuesday (27May08), after being alerted to the plight of London-native Ella Sherman by a New York newspaper reporter.
Sherman had purchased the Sex and the City experience - which did not include travel arrangements - in an online auction on Ebay.com in April (08) through travel company Destination on Location.
The company promised to whisk the winning bidder to a posh Manhattan hotel for a five-night stay, a ticket to the premiere and after-party, shopping sprees and leisure time at members-only club the SoHo House.
The company also claimed a percentage of the money would be donated domestic violence charity Artists Against Abuse - a charity they claim is star Kim Cattrall’s favourite.
In an e-mail before the big purchase, Sherman received notice from workers at the company saying: "We are in contact with Kim Cattrall and are awaiting what her degree of involvement will be." But days after receiving confirmation of her winning bid from company founder Joanne Konstantinakos, Sherman was notified the tickets would not be granted, because the company itself had become the victim of a fraudulent seller.
And though Sherman - who has yet to be reimbursed - will be attending the premiere after flying in to the Big Apple from her home in Singapore, she insists the goodwill hasn’t made up for her losses.
She tells the New York Post, "It was supposed to be an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. But it’s a fiasco. It was the after-party that was the big thing for me."
