SARAH JESSICA PARKER has let it slip that the new SEX AND THE CITY movie might not be for real - literally.
The actress, who plays New York socialite and writer Carrie Bradshaw in the much-anticipated film adaptation of the hit TV series, admits fans of the show might be in for a shock when the truth is revealed.
Refusing to be drawn into talking about a rumoured death in the new film, which opens on Friday (30May08), Parker says, "I’m so reluctant to answer that… I am fairly certain there is no death." But she turned cryptic when asked if her character’s marriage,which is alluded to in trailers for the movie, really does take place.
Speaking to Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest, Parker said, "It’s very unclear if that’s a dream sequence… It looks as if Carrie might be but it’s not clear to me, even still, if that was a dream sequence or not.
"I’m trying to be clever and stealth about not giving too much away."

RUSSELL CROWE is making sporting headlines in Australia after firing the chairman of his South Sydney Rabbitohs rugby team.
Crowe and business partner Peter Holmes A Court took over the team in 2006 but their relationship has cooled following a string of on and off-field controversies.
And, with the Rabbitohs last in Australia’s National Rugby League, Crowe felt it was time for a change at the top and dumped his co-owner after a fiery board meeting on Monday (26May08).
Sydney lawyer Nick Pappas, who handed over the controlling share of the team to Crowe and Holmes A Court in 2006, will replace the outgoing chairman, according to the Sydney Daily Telegraph newspaper.
Pappas has spent recent weeks serving as a go-between for both owners.
The shake up comes a week after Holmes A Court warned investors he could not guarantee the club’s survival following a AUS$4.2 million loss last year (07).
Of his decision to fire Holmes A Court, Crowe tells the publication, "It is the sensible thing to do." In a statement, the Oscar winner added, "The reports of our demise have been greatly exaggerated. Today the board applauded Peter’s achievements in lifting the club and collectively we thanked him for his gargantuan effort over the past two years."

The Palm Springs, California retreat which once belonged to movie icon CARY GRANT has been put on the market.
The actor’s hideaway for more than 20 years is on sale for just under $5 million (£2.5 million).
Grant, who died in 1986, lived there from the 1950s until the late 1970s.
Built in 1927, the Spanish farmhouse-style property features six bedrooms and a guest wing designed by legendary architect Wallace Neff.

ALANIS MORISSETTE is revamping her book plans after her split from former fiance RYAN REYNOLDS left her with a broken heart and writer’s block.
The Canadian rocker made a start on the tome when she was dating the actor, who is now engaged to Scarlett Johansson, but quickly found it was the wrong time to be writing a book.
She tells Venice magazine, "I put that (book) away for a while… This whole deadline thing didn’t quite work… and there were lots of changes going on in my life then; not a good time to have a big book deadline." Morissette admits she has "reinstated the whole journey" and now plans to work on her memoirs with a new editor.
She adds, "She’s not so much an editor as someone who’s going to be midwifering the whole project." The singer is planning to release the book in 2009 and insists it won’t be a memoir, stating, "I’m thinking of the book as a service… decidedly not a memoir."

Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo inserts himself into re-enactments of each YouTube.com phenomenon, wearing a laboratory coat to conduct an explosive Mentos mint and Diet Coke test and hugging a sobbing Crocker, who became famous for impersonating Britney Spears online and begging for her to be left alone.
And talking of Spears, the pop star’s ex-husband, Kevin Federline, also makes a brief cameo in the hilarious video.

INDIANA JONES & THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL has given director STEVEN SPIELBERG his biggest global opening ever with a stunning $311 million (£155.5 million) five-day haul.
The fourth film in the Indiana Jones franchise has hit number one at box offices in 62 countries around the world, following its release last week (ends23May08).
Spielberg’s previous best was War of the Worlds, which opened with $202 million (£101 million) over the 4 July weekend in 2005.
Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull cost an estimated $185 million (£92.5 million) to make.

LATEST: The father of the teenage HARRY POTTER star who was fatally stabbed outside a London bar on Saturday morning (24May08) has been remembered as a "kind and thoughtful" son by his grieving parents.
Rob Knox, who plays Hogwarts student Marcus Belby in the upcoming Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, died after reportedly trying to defend his younger brother Jamie from an attacker outside Metro bar in south east London.
In a statement, the tragic actor’s parents, Sally and Colin Knox, said, "Rob was kind and thoughtful and would always help out others. He would always spent his last penny on other people instead of himself. The life and soul of the party, he was very outgoing, loved sports and would always strike up conversation with people.
"He was respectful to others and adored by all his family and friends. He was an asset to the family." Knox had just completed filming of the latest Harry Potter film and had signed on to appear in the seventh film in the franchise, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, when tragedy struck.

Country music legend HANK WILLIAMS’ radio performances are to be released at last after years of legal wrangling between the singer’s family and music publishers.
Hank Williams’ Mother’s Best radio programmes will be released this autumn (08) thanks to a deal cut with the Time Life group by the late legend’s children, Jett and Hank Williams Jr.
The 143 previously-unreleased recordings were made in 1951 for Williams’ show on radio station WSM-AM in Nashville, Tennessee.
The shows were trashed and salvaged by a WSM employee, who attempted to market the recordings upon realising what they were.
One record label which attempted to release the recordings lost a legal challenge. Williams’ estate then fought an eight-year battle to establish sole ownership of the tapes, according to CMT.com.
The recordings are believed to include 40 songs Williams never performed and others he never recorded commercially.
The Mother’s Best shows will be released periodically over the next three years.
Thrilled Jett Williams says, "These recordings were my vehicle to get to really know the father I never met. Everyone will get to know the man and his musical genius as never before."

A 17-year-old who shot and killed rapper JUVENILE’s four-year-old daughter has been indicted on three counts of murder and aggravated assault.
Anthony Tyrone Terrell has been behind bars without bail since his arrest following the murders of his mother Joy Deleston and sisters Micaiah and Jelani, at their Gwinnett County, Georgia home in February (08).
Jelani, four, was the product of Juvenile’s romance with Deleston - an actress and Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office sex crimes official.
Terrell remains an inmate at the DeKalb County Jail. Details about his motive for killing the three members of his family remain unclear as WENN goes to press.

Rapper CAMU TAO has lost his battle with lung cancer a week before his 31st birthday.
The S.A. Smash star - real name Tero Smith - was diagnosed with the disease two years ago (06) and had been undergoing chemotherapy.
According to labelmate and friend Aesop Rock, who announced the sad news on his MySpace.com page on Monday (26May08), Camu Tao died at a Columbus, Ohio hospital on Sunday (25May08).
As well as being part of S.A. Smash, the Ohio rapper also found underground fame with the Weathermen and the MHz crew.
In a touching post on his blog, collaborator El-P states, "To those who knew Tero, he was an almost uncategorisable force of nature. Wild, hilarious, proud, loving, tough, outspoken, spontaneous and brilliant.
"He wore his heart on his sleeve and he dripped creativity, leaving inspiration and awe in the hearts and minds of anyone who was fortunate enough to see him work."

R&B star KELLY ROWLAND had her headline performance at the Great American Gay Day 2008 rudely interrupted on Friday (23May08), when she narrowly missed being hit by a fan’s hat.
The Dilemma hitmaker was midway through her set at the Californian event when one devotee threw their white hat at the stage - almost hitting Rowland in the face.
The backing music came to halt as she called out to the crowd to identify the assailant - before making him apologise for his actions.
In video footage obtained by website TMZ.com, she can be heard saying: "Who threw that up here? Come to the front, come to the front." The fan quickly apologised and Rowland handed back the flying headwear before resuming her performance.

VICTORIA BECKHAM has chastised critics who have accused her of only forging a close friendship with TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES to further her acting career.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY can now add doctor to his resume, after receiving an honorary degree from one of America’s oldest and most iconic universities.
The former Beatle was presented with the Doctor of Music accolade by top staff at Connecticut’s Yale University - the third oldest education institution in the U.S. - on Monday (26May08), in acknowledgement of his musical achievements to date in his 48-year career.
In the prizegiving ceremony, university leaders credited McCartney with having "awakened a generation, giving a fresh sound to rock, roll, rhythm and blues".
Others who have conferred honorary degrees from the university include British astronomer Martin Rees, Argentine architect Cesar Pelli and American poet John Lawrence Ashbery.

ROBERT DOWNEY JR. has been tipped to play legendary porn mogul HUGH HEFNER in a big-screen biopic - after reportedly impressing the Playboy entrepreneur with his lead role in IRON MAN.
Veteran lothario Hefner was so pleased with the former hellraiser’s portrayal of wealthy playboy Tony Stark in this year’s (08) comic blockbuster, he is desperate to sign him up for the role.
According to Illinois newspaper the Chicago Sun-Times, Hefner wants Downey Jr. to start shooting the movie - entitled Playboy - next summer (09).
And the Golden Globe-winner is said to be keen to take on the role of Hefner - as long as the script is right.

LATEST: Comedian KATT WILLIAMS has denied reports he was related to a man who was arrested at his Los Angeles mansion last week (26May08) - insisting he has no idea who he is.
Williams found himself at the centre of a police raid last Tuesday (20May08), when cops stormed his house and arrested Robert McGhee - a man thought to be a distant cousin of the funnyman.
McGhee was wanted by authorities for his alleged involvement in a drug-related shooting which took place in April (08) in Dayton, Ohio.
But Williams insists he had nothing to do with McGhee - and wasn’t even at home when the drama unfolded.
His publicist Yvette Shearer says, "Katt is not a brother or distant cousin or any relative of Robert McGhee. Katt did not even know this man was at his house." McGhee has been charged with felonious assault (causing serious harm), felonious assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Basketball star KOBE BRYANT has blasted rumours he is having an affair with a Los Angeles Lakers cheerleader and has ordered his lawyer to put a stop to the "malicious" allegations.
Gossips working for website TheDirty.com posted a message online last week (ends23May08), claiming they had reason to believe that the sportsman had been cheating on his wife Vanessa with the unnamed cheerleader.
But the rumours have infuriated Bryant, and his attorney Adam F. Streisand the cousin of superstar Barbra Streisand - has now issued a cease and desist letter to website owner David Gingras. In the letter, Streisand demands the removal of the "totally false, libelous, defamatory and disparaging" information and Bryant’s "name, image or likeness" from the site.
According to documents obtained by website TMZ.com, Bryant is also seeking to sue Gingras for unspecified damages.
