WELLER: ‘I’LL NEVER ACCEPT HONOUR FROM THE QUEEN’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:49 pm

Rock veteran PAUL WELLER has warned Britain’s QUEEN ELIZABETH II he’ll snub future invitations to become a CBE - because he doesn’t approve of the monarchy.
The Wildwood singer recently turned down the Commander of the Order of the British Empire honour, insisting he’d feel hypocritical if he accepted it, reports Gigwise.com.
He says, "I’m not really into it. It’s not my sort of thing. It would have been a bit hypocritical for me to accept that, I don’t really agree with it.
"I don’t like the royal family, I don’t like the establishment, I don’t like the civil service." (TN/WNWCGGW/LJ) WENN - THIRD - HOLLYWOOD, SHOWBIZ & PEOPLE NEWS - 23 MAY 2008
