HUDSON AND WILSON CALL IT QUITS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:32 pm

LATEST: Hollywood couple KATE HUDSON and OWEN WILSON have put an end to rumours of their engagement after ending their on-off relationship, according to reports.
Hudson, 29, blasted rumours she was to marry to the 39-year-old actor on Monday (12May08), after she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger.
And now sources claim the couple has split for good, two months after rekindling their 2007 romance.
The pair met on the set of 2006 movie You, Me & Dupree, as Hudson was splitting from her husband of six years, rocker Chris Robinson.
The actors first parted ways in June 2007, just two months before Wilson’s alleged wrist-cutting suicide attempt.
A source says, "It was a pretty bad break-up. Owen said it was a tough one.
He definitely doesn’t want to dwell on it. He wants to put it behind him."

THERON: `STOP CALLING ME UGLY’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:32 pm

CHARLIZE THERON is sick of rude reporters calling her "ugly." The actress accepts she went out of her way to look unattractive to play lesbian killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster, but she was simply make-up free for other roles for which she was dubbed ugly.
And now she’s letting the media know that she’ll no longer stand for rude questions about her looks.
She tells the new issue of W magazine, "You better not be bringing up ugly." Theron insists she did nothing to play down her stunning looks in North Country or The Valley of Elah - two films, for which her characters were called less than attractive.
She fumes, "North Country was dirt. That’s what happens when you go into a mine.
"In the Valley of Elah - that’s when I took real offence, because that was just my real hair colour and me with no makeup." And the Oscar-winner is also annoyed by people who think she chooses `ugly’ roles to win awards and favour as a serious actress.
She adds, "It really irks me that people think I choose these roles because, if I’m not looking attractive, they will take me seriously. I’m sorry, but if I’m going to play a cop, I’m not going to be wearing eyeliner.
"I’m not going to wake up in a scene with lip gloss on, because that’s not how women wake up, not even the most beautiful women."

SCHWARZENEGGER TO UPHOLD SAME-SEX MARRIAGE RULING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:32 pm

Action man-turned-politician ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER’s bid to outlaw same-sex marriage in California has been overturned by the state’s Supreme Court.
Officials have ruled that gay marriages are legal unions in the state, and those who wed during a spate of same-sex nuptials at San Francisco’s City Hall in 2004 will be recognised as married couples.
Those marriages were all declared void by officials who were against same-sex marriages.
Governor Schwarzenegger was among those who opposed the gay weddings.
But on Thursday (15May08), the Supreme Court officials ruled state laws against same-sex marriage are unconstitutional.
In a statement released shortly after the ruling, Schwarzenegger declared he will "respect" and "uphold" the decision.
The former movie star also reiterated previous promises he made to California’s gay community, that he will not support "an amendment to the constitution that would overturn this State Supreme Court ruling".
California becomes the second U.S. state to legalise same-sex marriage.

BROLIN STUDIES BUSH TO PLAY THE PRESIDENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:25 pm

JOSH BROLIN researched his role as GEORGE W. BUSH by mimicking his walk and making prank calls to hotels in the President’s home state.
The actor was determined to nail every aspect of Bush’s voice and body language for the Oliver Stone-directed movie, W, which is currently filming in Louisiana, and he confesses his behaviour has become annoying his wife.
It’s also confusing Texan hoteliers.
Brolin explains, "I’m talking to myself all day long. Sometimes I’ll call hotels in Texas and talk to the people at the front desk just to listen to their accents. And I’ve been watching a lot of video of Bush walking.
"It changes over the years. People hold their emotions in their bodies. They can’t fake it. Especially him."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:23 pm

PATRICK SWAYZE has been given a lifeline in his desperate battle with pancreatic cancer - three top doctors have offered to cure him using revolutionary new treatments.
The Ghost star revealed he was fighting the killer disease earlier this year (08) after his secret health crisis was revealed by a U.S. tabloid.
And now three cancer experts have come forward with nearmiracle cures they’re urging the 55-year-old to try.
In a world exclusive article for America’s Globe, Dr. Howard May, Robert Krupa and Dr. Jim Howenstine insist they have the tools to help Swayze beat cancer.
Dr. May says, "I can cure Patrick Swayze." The National Health Director of the Phillipines Church of God insists he’s living proof that his `Zapper’ device, which boosts the body’s immune system and kills pathogens and parasites that cause cancer, really works - it cured him of colon cancer.
He explains, "I’m 86 and in better health now than I was when I was supposed to die within six months." Krupa also tells the publication he can cure Swayze with his invention, the Rife machine, which uses electromagnetic energy to cancel out cancer.
He states, "He’ll (Swayze) know from hour one that something good is happening to his body. He’ll suddenly be full of energy." And internist Dr. Howenstine insists the secret to Swayze’s cancer cure lies in a powerful antioxidant called Coenzyme Q10.

CHARLTON HESTON’s most iconic movie treasures are to auctioned off as part of a massive memorabilia sale later this summer (08).
Tablets from The Ten Commandments and the kaftan and pallium the late Heston wore in Ben Hur are among the items which will go under the hammer at the upcoming Profiles in History auction in Los Angeles on 31 July (08) and 1 August (08).
The Ten Commandments tablets, which are expected to fetch upto $60,000 (GBP30,000), were one of four used in the 1956 movie classic, and are considered to be the best preserved.
They were given to The Sands Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where they have been on display for many years.
A spokesman for Profiles In History says, "These tablets retain the beautiful red and black-speckled patina of the Mount Sinaiinspired granite, with translucent white engraved letters and nearly pristine edges.
"There are few props in the history of film that are so easily recognisable, and so coveted by seasoned collectors of original Hollywood film relics.
Overall the tablets remain in exceptional condition." Meanwhile, Heston’s Ben Hur costume is expected to fetch more than $12,000 (GBP6,000).
The two lots are part of a 1,000 item haul, offered as part of Profiles in History’s 32nd auction of Hollywood memorabilia.

RADIOHEAD FANS FUMING OVER STORM-WRECKED SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:19 pm

Frustrated RADIOHEAD fans who were locked out of a show in Virginia on Sunday (11May08) after torrential rain and traffic trouble caused them to arrive late have been offered another chance to see the band.
Angry fans inundated the band’s official website to complain about missing the concert at the Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, claiming the band and the venue bosses should have been more accommodating and accepting of the weather conditions.
The controversy has prompted Radiohead to issue a statement, inviting fans who were caught up in the monsoon-like conditions, which prompted officials to close roads around the venue, to return their tickets for the chance to see the band at another venue.
The statement reads, "While acknowledging a lack of control over the ensuing flooding and detours, the members of Radiohead are nevertheless disappointed regarding this turn of events." Promoters Live Nation have offered fans that were turned away from the gig on Sunday tickets to an August show in Camden, New Jersey, or tickets to a show of their choice at Nissan Pavilion.
But the offer has angered many fans who are refusing to make the trip to New Jersey.
Many feel the idea of fans driving all the way from Virginia to New Jersey for the show makes a mockery of Radiohead’s bid to make their touring plans as environmentally-friendly as possible.
In a post on the group’s website, one angry fan writes, "One-third of the concert-goers that night were driving around in circles, burning fossil fuels all the while. This is your save the Earth tour… and yet you play in the middle of nowhere with no public transportation leading there. You owe us!"

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:19 pm

The Losing My Religion singer has joined the likes of Will Smith, Bruce Springsteen and Jessica Alba in endorsing Obama - and he insists the Democrat is the man the world needs to lead America.
In an interview with music magazine Death & Taxes, Stipe says, "I’m Obama all the way… That’s what I think this country is looking for right now.
"I think he can help us pull ourselves from the mire that we are in…
"The system is pretty shut down on itself. Let’s say, symbolically at least, he means a great deal… We represent something so massive to the rest of the world and they are sitting there with bated breath waiting for us to prove we are what they think we are."
