PEARL HARBOR star JOSH HARTNETT has signed up as the latest spokesmodel for Italian fashion house EMPORIO ARMANI’s cologne.
The 29-year-old star will be unveiled as the face of the brand’s fragrance, Emporio Armani Diamonds for Men in a ceremony during Milan’s Spring/Summer fashion week in June (09).
The actor joins pop star Beyonce Knowles as an Armani ambassador; she signed on as the face of Emporio Armani Diamondsfor Women last year (May07).
Designer Giorgio Armani says of Hartnett, "Both on and off screen he has a charm and charisma that is magnetic. His individuality, allure and nonchalant way of being are all qualities which inspired me in the creation of this new fragrance."

MARIAH CAREY is desperate to start a family with her new husband NICK CANNON before she is too old, according to reports.
The pair married in secret in the Bahamas on 30 April (08) just a month after hooking up on the set of a video, and the 38-yearold pop superstar has made no secret of the fact she wants to start a family.
But friends insist the couple has already started trying for kids.
One source tells the National Enquirer, "Mariah says her biological clock is ticking and she wants a baby immediately." But insiders tell the Enquirer, Cannon, 27, is not so keen: "Nick tries waving off Mariah’s baby fixation as only natural, but he’s in a sweat. He expected them to start a family, just not in such a hurry." Speaking on comedienne Ellen DeGeneres U.S. chat show on Tuesday (13May08), Carey admitted she was ready for kids: "I said, `If I found the right person who I felt would be on the same page as me in terms of raising kids and having the same belief system.’" And now she appears to have found "the right person" she wants to make sure she can give a child everything he or she needs.
She added, "I’ve always had a weird thing about it (having kids) because my parents divorced when I was three and I didn’t really have many examples of what was the norm."

LATEST: JESSICA SIMPSON hinted that her romance with sports star TONY ROMO was coming to an end in a new interview with America’s Glamour magazine.
Despite her denials, insiders insist the couple has separated, and Dallas Cowboys star Romo has been telling his pals he’s no longer dating the singer.
And it appears Simpson saw the end of the high-profile relationship coming when she was interviewed for Glamour in March (08).
She tells the publication, "This article could come out and Tony and I could be broken up." And the rumours of a split have swelled after Romo was spotted partying with a bevy of beauties at a Chicago, Illinois bar at the weekend (10May08), while Simpson was working in Los Angeles.

TOM CRUISE, KATIE HOLMES, JOHN TRAVOLTA and KELLY PRESTON have been told to seek medical attention, after deadly asbestos was found on a cruise ship they have all sailed on.
The foursome have all celebrated birthdays or other functions aboard Church of Scientology cruise ship the MV Freewinds, which was recently discovered to be contaminated with dangerous levels of blue asbestos.
Toxicologist Dr. Chris Coggins says, "This is the most dangerous type of asbestos because the fibres are smaller than the white asbestos and can penetrate the lung more easily." Asbestos particles can stay dormant in the lungs for years before causing a deadly cancer called mesothelioma.
Dr. Coggins adds, "Once diagnosed with mesothelioma, the victim has six months to a year to live. It gradually reduces lung function until the victim is no longer able to breathe and dies."

LEONARDO DiCAPRIO is searching for the real JAMES BOND - after signing on to produce a biopic of the superspy’s creator, IAN FLEMING.
The actor’s Appian Way production company will delve into the fabled British writer’s life in Fleming.
DiCaprio’s production partner Andrew Lazar says, "The idea that this guy’s life informed the James Bond character is pretty fascinating." The film, based on Damian Stevenson’s screenplay, will begin on the eve of Fleming’s 1952 wedding in Jamaica - just before his first novel, Casino Royale, was published.
Flashbacks will show Fleming’s pre-Bond life as a correspondent for news agency Reuters and as a naval intelligence expert during World War Two.
It is not known if DiCaprio will play any role in the film.

MADONNA has leaped to the defence of troubled pop star BRITNEY SPEARS, claiming she is struggling to cope with adulthood because she was never given the chance to grow up.
The Material Girl claims living her teens under the full gaze of the world has robbed Spears of a proper childhood.
She says, "I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that she was never allowed to have a childhood. She didn’t get to grow up and make mistakes privately and try things out and just be a kid and be innocent.
"She’s been watched, judged and been under a microscope since she’s been a teenager. It’s hard to evolve that way." The 49-year-old mother-of-three is determined to keep her own kids on the right path - even if she was somehwat of a wild child: "I just remind them about all the things that they have, and that if I didn’t do what I did they wouldn’t have those things." And she’s convinced her kids have no interest in becoming as famous as mum or Spears: "They’re sort of over it. They like to skateboard around (but) they get to travel a lot, they get to do a lot of interesting things and meet a lot of interesting people."

ANGELINA JOLIE has finally confirmed she’s pregnant with twins after KUNG FU PANDA co-star JACK BLACK accidentally gave away her big secret at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
During an interview with U.S. TV show Today to promote their new film, Black joked about Jolie’s baby bump.
Pointing at the actress’ bulging belly, Black quipped, "You’re gonna have as many (kids) as (U.S. TV family) the Brady Bunch when you have these." And when interviewer Natalie Morales pressed Jolie for a comeback, the sexy star said, "Yeah, yeah, we’ve confirmed that already. Well, Jack’s just confirmed it actually." The babies will be Jolie’s fifth and sixth children, and her second and third biological kids with partner Brad Pitt.
The couple has three adopted children, Maddox, Pax and and Zahara, and their first natural child, Shiloh, will turn two this month (May08).

Former CALVIN KLEIN model HEATHER STOHLER has died in a fire at her Indiana apartment, at the age of 29.
Stohler and her boyfriend Daniel Risley, 26, were taken from the burning apartment in Frankton on Sunday (11May08) and admitted to a nearby hospital.
The tragic beauty was pronounced dead from smoke inhalation soon after.
Risley, who suffered substantial burns across his body, died in the early hours of Tuesday (13May08) morning. Fire officials have ruled the blaze was accidental.
During her heyday, Stohler, real name Heather Arrick, appeared on the runway at top European fashion shows and graced the covers of Marie Claire’s German edition and Vogue Italy.
She also appeared in Calvin Klein campaigns alongside Kate Moss.

Members of the Cannes Film Festival jury broke French law at a press conference at the annual movie spectacle on Wednesday (14May08) - by smoking.
Iranian director Marjane Satrapi and French actress Jeanne Balibar lit up as they were being introduced to the media, despite protests about smoking in public.
And the 2008 jury president, Sean Penn, who had previously been told he couldn’t smoke during the press conference, then chose to ignore the rules and lit a cigarette.
Under protest, Satrapi insisted, "Some members of this jury, for medical reasons, need to smoke. Do you mind?" Smoking in public places was outlawed in France in January (08).

JOHNNY DEPP’s girlfriend, VANESSA PARADIS, is to become the new face of MIU MIU.
Bosses at the Prada fashion house, who own the Miu Miu brand, has confirmed the French singer/actress will replace Kirsten Dunst as their spokesmodel for the 2008 and 2009.
Vanessa Paradis, who has been a Chanel model for several years, has now signed a contract with Prada for an undisclosed amount.

FARRAH FAWCETT has forgiven the hospital worker accused of selling her confidential medical details to the media, insisting she’s just a "pawn" in the system.
Lawanda Jackson has been indicted by a federal jury and stands accused of snooping through celebrities’ medical records while working as an administrative specialist at Los Angeles’ UCLA Medical Center from 2006 to 2007.
A Los Angeles Times newspaper investigation suggested Jackson was responsible for alerting the National Enquirer to Fawcett’s current cancer battle before the actress had time to tell her family and friends about the health crisis.
But Fawcett insists she does not bear a grudge: "It is my personal belief that what Lawanda Jackson is most guilty of is being a pawn.
"She worked in a hospital system that did not provide strong enough deterrents to stop their employees from breaching their patient’s medical records - which made it all the easier for the tabloids to financially induce her to invade my privacy as well as the privacy of others." Jackson resigned from her post last summer (Jul07) and maintains she never profited from leaking information to the media. She told the Times she was just being "nosey".
Officials at the California Department of Public Health have more than 60 people of interest following an ongoing investigation into the leak of medical records at UCLA Medical Center.

Rockers EVERCLEAR are to perform for 6,000 U.S. troops and their families at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba on Memorial Day (26May08).
The band has added the naval base concert to their upcoming spring/summer (08) tour, together with a show at the Marine Corps base at Kaneohe Bay, Oahu on 6 July (08) - where they’ll celebrate Independence Day (04Jul07) with troops.
Frontman Art Alexakis says, "These two (gigs) are important to the band.
There are folks in uniform all over the world, and at home, looking out for us.
"To play for them is an honour. Not a bad way to spend the holiday weekends."

CARLY SIMON refuses to dwell on the cancer battle that cost her her a breast a decade ago, insisting it had served its use.
The philosophical singer/songwriter won her cancer fight but lost her left breast - and now claims she was destined to give it up.
Simon underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery for breast cancer in October 1997.
She tells USA Today newspaper, "That was a metaphor for a couple of things.
One is that I breast-fed (son) Ben for three-and-a-half years, so I gave away all my milk.
"There was no need for that (breast) anymore." Simon also maintains that past heartbreaks weakened that area of her body.

DOLLY PARTON is furious with satellite radio shock jock HOWARD STERN after he broadcast what he claimed was a segment from her online audiobook on his show.
The clearly-doctored audio manipulated her speaking voice to create racist and sexually vulgar comments, which Stern played to his listeners last week (06May08).
Stern and his crew joked about the audio, stating they were "shocked to hear Dolly talking like that", and the host himself called it "disgusting" - but the country star was far from amused.
The doctored tape also featured Parton apparently ridiculing Burt Reynolds, Kenny Rogers and beloved TV host Johnny Carson.
The angry singer says, "I have never been so shocked, hurt and humiliated in all my life. I cannot believe what Howard Stern has done to me.
"I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth. They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing.
"Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this… I just wanted you to know that I am completely devastated by this." And Parton is keen to seek legal action against Stern and his Sirius Satellite Radio bosses, adding, "If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it’s going to be over this."

British soul star AMY WINEHOUSE has been summoned to appear in a Norwegian court next year (09) to appeal a fine for marijuana possession.
The troubled singer and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil were arrested in Bergen, Norway last year (Oct07) on suspicion of possessing cannabis.
At the time of arrest, the 24-year-old was issued with a $714 (£357) fine, which she accepted, not realising that paying up is the same as pleading guilty in the Scandinavian country.
The initial appeal hearing was scheduled for 29 February (08) but was postponed at her lawyer’s request because of the absence of her spouse, who is currently incarcerated in London’s Pentonville Prison on charges of perverting the course of justice in relation to earlier charges of grievous bodily harm.
On Wednesday (14May08) the singer discovered she would not face drugs charges, relating to a video handed in to police in London in January (08), that purportedly showed her smoking crack cocaine.
A spokesperson for the star says, "Police have confirmed that no action will be taken against Amy Winehouse in relation to an investigation into a video handed to them in January." "Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer."

The U.S. TV show that made JOHNNY DEPP famous is making its way to the big screen, under the watchful eye of comedy star JONAH HILL, according to reports.
Depp found fame playing baby-faced police officer Tom Hanson in 1980s undercover cop series 21 Jump street when he was just 24. The role helped him land parts in movies Cry Baby and Edward Scissorhands, which catapulted him to Hollywood fame.
Superbad star Hill will serve as the new film’s executive producer and script writer, and will be joined by the original series’ co-creator Stephen J.
Cannell, according to EW.COM.
Depp’s camp has yet to confirm if he will consider a cameo appearance in the film.
