SMITH OPTIONS WINE TALE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:44 pm

WILL SMITH has bottled up a new movie project after optioning the film rights to wine saga THE BILLIONAIRE’S VINEGAR: THE MYSTERY OF THE WORLD’S MOST EXPENSIVE BOTTLE OF WINE.
Bosses at the movie star’s production company were won over by Benjamin Wallace’s chronicle of the auction house fight for a 1787 bottle of Chateau Lafite, which was rumoured to have belonged to U.S. President Thomas Jefferson.
Wallace claimed that Jefferson was duped into thinking the wine was a rare vintage and as such the son of billionaire publisher Malcolm Forbes bought doctored cheap wine for $156,000 (GBP78,000) - the world record for a single bottle.

ROWLAND: ‘BEYONCE IS NOT PREGNANT’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:44 pm

R&B singer KELLY ROWLAND has laughed off reports her close pal BEYONCE KNOWLES is pregnant, insisting her former DESTINY’S CHILD bandmate would be "mad" if she heard the latest rumours.
Reports Knowles is expecting surfaced online last month (Apr08), just days after her secret New York wedding to hip-hop superstar Jay-Z.
The newlyweds have so far refused to confirm they have become husband and wife, let alone address the pregnancy rumours, but Rowland - who was a guest at their nuptials - insists Knowles is not about to enter motherhood.
However, Rowland has also continued to dodge questions about the widely reported wedding, saying: "Everybody keeps talking about this wedding that supposedly happened. That’s a question that you’d have to ask her!" Of the baby rumours, the Work singer laughs, "You know what’s funny about this, all three of us (Destiny’s Child members) have been pregnant at one time.
We were on stage and supposedly we looked pregnant! "I think that it happens, people say that all the time and there are so many rumours about a wedding, so many rumours about so much stuff that it (Beyonce being pregnant) is probably next in line.
"I mean, even before (there were) the wedding rumours (there) were baby rumours; before the wedding rumours there were wedding rumours, you know what I mean? So, no, there’s no truth to that. She would be mad, she’d be like, ‘I’m what?’"

JANSSEN NOT READY FOR MOTHERHOOD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:41 pm

Actress FAMKE JANSSEN has no plans to become a Hollywood mum - because she’s too devoted to her pet dog.
The former Bond girl admits her four nieces help to satisfy every maternal yearning the actress has, and she has no plans to join fellow X-Men star Halle Berry and become a mum in her 40s.
She explains, "It has nothing to do with not liking children or anything of the sort. I love children. I love my nieces but it’s not something I’ve looked for.
"My life revolves around my dog, Licorice. It’s all about making him happy.
Since I got him he’s brought me such love and joy that I thought the only thing I can do is to make this creature happy, comfortable and spoil him as much as I possibly can." But the new United Nations Ambassador on corruption issues is not ruling out motherhood altogether.
The 42 year old adds, "Maybe I’ll adopt a kid one day. Would I adopt a baby? Maybe not, it would have to be a kid that’s a little older."

PALTROW: ‘DON’T MAKE NUDE MAGAZINE SHOT MORE THAN IT IS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:41 pm

GWYNETH PALTROW is keen to avoid controversy after posing almost nude for Britain’s GQ magazine - insisting the cover shot is harmless, and she was not completely naked.
The actress poses seductively in a bedsheet - similar to the Vanity Fair Miley Cyrus photo which landed the 15-year-old in trouble at the beginning of May (08).
But Paltrow states she isn’t trying to court controversy with the new photo, insisting it’s just an innocent shot.
The mother-of-two says, "I’m not going out without my knickers, and I’m not getting drunk and I’m not on my eighth husband (but) sometimes they (the media) have to drum up a lot of controversy over nothing."

STONE’S BUSH FILM GETS A START DATE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:38 pm

OLIVER STONE’s GEORGE W. BUSH movie will be released while the U.S. President is still in office.
Lionsgate studio bosses have confirmed W will start filming in Louisiana on Monday (12May08), and the movie will hit cinemas in October (08) - just before the general election to find Bush’s successor.
W stars Josh Brolin as George W. Bush, Elizabeth Banks First Lady Laura Bush, James Cromwell as George Herbert Walker Bush and Ellen Burstyn as Barbara Bush.
The all-star cast also features Thandie Newton (Condoleezza Rice), Jeffrey Wright (Colin Powell), Scott Glenn (Donald Rumsfeld) and Ioan Gruffud (Tony Blair).
In a new statement about the explosive film, director Stone says, "The impact of George W. Bush’s presidency will be felt for many years to come.
"Despite a meteoric, almost illogical rise to power, and a tremendous influence on the world, we don’t really know much about Mr. Bush beyond the controlled images we’ve been allowed to see on TV.
"This movie’s taking a bold stab at looking behind that curtain. I’m real pleased that Lionsgate has the independence necessary to bring this provocative story to an American audience."

PSYCHIC: ‘BOND FILM IS CURSED BY HALLOWE’EN RELEASE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:38 pm

A top psychic has urged the producers of the new JAMES BOND movie QUANTUM OF SOLACE to change the Hallowe’en release date (31Oct08) of the film - or risk encouraging more bad luck.
Dean ‘Midas’ Maynard, who uses supernatural powers to help British sports teams and celebrities over slumps, has offered his help to 007 Daniel Craig and the cast and crew of the film.
He believes the recent accidents, which have dogged the Bond sets in South America and Europe, are part of a curse that hangs over the film.
And he insists Amy Winehouse’s run of bad luck - with two arrests in two weeks - is linked to the Bond curse, because she has been recording a potential theme for Quantum of Solace.
Maynard says, "The movie set suffered three car crashes in five days, one critical and a technician working on the movie was stabbed with a steak knife in a domestic dispute on Tuesday.
"It’s clear what is going on here and I would be honoured to come to the help of James Bond and help the team get things back on track.
"People may scoff at the talk of a curse, but it seems strange that all these bad things have happened in such a short space of time, and perhaps it’s something to do with the Hallowe’en release date of the film."

BLOODLINE DIRECTOR FEARS FILM WILL WRECK EXCAVATION PLANS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:38 pm

The director/star of new documentary BLOODLINE fears the film’s success will ruin plans to excavate what is believed to be the tomb of Mary Magdalene.
British filmmaker Bruce Burgess and a team of amateur archaeologists stumbled across the ancient burial chamber in the countryside around French village Rennes-le-Chateau while researching myths thrown up by Dan Brown’s bestseller the Da Vinci Code.
And now Burgess has handed over his findings, which appear in the rivetting new film, to the French government in the hope of persuading officials to excavate the area this summer (08).
But he fears his own film will scupper plans - because it will highlight what experts could find in the tomb.
In Bloodline, archaeologist Ben Hammott, manages to poke a small camera through a hole in the roof of the tomb. The footage he captured reveals a mummified corpse and tests have proven the body hails from the Middle East.
Burgess tells WENN, "We’re all absolutely gagging to go back, so when the French government has worked out how we can actually drill without the whole lot dropping on top of the corpse, we’ll be there.
"So far, there appears to be no red tape (restrictions), but I imagine that will start to become a factor if this film becomes more well known.
"If everyone starts talking about Jesus and Mary and the Vatican, it’s bound to pass the desk of the French president and it’ll be an interesting phonecall if the Vatican ever called the President and said, ‘Y’know, we just don’t want to know what’s in there.’" Burgess’ film sets out to pose questions about theories Jesus and Mary were married - and that Mary fled to France with the couple’s children after the crucifixion.

SLASH: ‘I’M BETTER SOBER’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:35 pm

Rocker SLASH insists he’s a better guitarist now he’s given up alcohol - and a better father too.
The former Guns N’ Roses star checked into rehab to tackle his drinking problem, and insists that was all he needed to help him realise it was time to quit boozing for good.
And he claims Velvet Revolver fans are the beneficiaries of his sobriety because he’s a better guitarist than ever.
He tells Britain’s Mojo magazine, "Wanting to do what I do to the best of my ability is a major motivation for me.
"I’m a helluva lot better guitar player since I’ve been sober." And his sobriety has boosted his role as a dad: "You can’t be loaded all the time. I tried that and it didn’t work. They (kids) don’t think to take a nap when you pass out on the floor." But he’ll never clean up so much that he becomes a yoga-loving, gym-using rocker, like so many of his once addicted peers.
He chuckles, "Working out and all that bulls**t? I can’t stand it… It’s lame.
"In the month that I spent rehabilitating myself, I met all those characters with the yoga mats and the leotards, but I just didn’t sign up."

SLASH FEARED AIDS WOULD RUIN HIS SEX LIFE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:32 pm

Rocker SLASH was terrified of contracting AIDS at the height of his GUNS N’ ROSES fame - because he feared he’d miss out on sex.
The guitarist, who once famously said that rockers only needed to worry about AIDS if Van Halen star David Lee Roth was diagnosed with the disease, admits he took "a few" Aids tests.
And he insists he was never worried about becoming a victim and dying, but he was concerned that the disease would end his sex life.
He tells Britain’s Mojo magazine, "The first time I was tested, I didn’t care about the result in terms of my own mortality.
"I was more concerned about the fact that, if it was positive, I wouldn’t be able to get laid for however long it took me to kick the bucket (die)."

PETA URGE PROSECUTORS TO GET TOUGH WITH DMX

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:32 pm

Animal rights activists are calling for rapper DMX to be "vigorously prosecuted" following his animal cruelty arrest on Friday (09May08).
The hitmaker, real name Earl Simmons, was charged with seven misdemeanour counts of cruelty when police stormed his home in Arizona and took five pit bull terrier puppies into care.
He was also charged with drug possession, but it’s the dog cruelty rap which has prompted People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals officials to send an urgent plea to Maricopa County Attorney Andrew P. Thomas urging his office to push for harsh punishment for the rapper.
In August (07), authorities discovered 12 reportedly neglected, malnourished, and scarred pit bulls on Simmons’ Arizona property.
And PETA bosses think it’s high time DMX was taught a lesson.
In an action alert on its popular website, PETA urges visitors to contact Thomas and demand that Simmons is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
PETA cruelty caseworker Peter Wood writes, "Simmons appears to be either unable or unwilling to provide even the most basic care for animals. People who demonstrate such blatant disregard for life and desensitization to suffering can pose a serious risk to all animals-including humans-with whom they come into contact." PETA is asking that, if convicted and in addition to serving a period of incarceration, Simmons be prohibited from owning or harbouring animals and that he be required to undergo a thorough psychological evaluation followed by mandatory counselling.

THERON SLAMS ‘FLUFF-OBSESSED’ FILM FANS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:47 pm

Oscar winner CHARLIZE THERON has hit out at film fans, claiming modern audiences are obsessed with "fluff’.
The actress is bitter her most recent movie The Valley of Elah underperformed at the box office and is frustrated she can’t find more roles playing strong women, like in 2005’s North Country, and Monster - which won her a Best Actress Oscar in 2004.
Theron says, "I asked Michael Seitzman, who wrote North Country, ‘Why don’t you write these kind of stories more; these roles for women?’ "He said, ‘There isn’t the demand for it.’ "It’s not necessarily Hollywood’s fault. People don’t go to see these movies.
"I think it’s a bigger problem. We’ve become completely fluff obsessed."

Miller explains, "It has to be realistic and I think it is probably very rare that people have sex with their bra on so if you are going to do it, just do it. That’s my motto."

SCHWARZENEGGER BACKS FIRED UGLY BETTY CREW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:44 pm

LATEST: California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has offered his support to angry crewmembers on U.S. series UGLY BETTY, who will lose their jobs when the show moves from Los Angeles to New York.
Producers last week (6May08) made the decision to relocate the set to make the most of new tax incentives on offer in New York.
But the move will leave 300 people out of work, including dry cleaners, caterers and construction firms.
The disgruntled employees grouped together to take out an ad in Hollywood trade paper Variety, appealing to Schwarzenegger to help stop the loss of more business.
Addressing the letter, the governor insists tax incentives have been drawn up - but have yet to be approved by the California legislature.
He insists they are a necessity, if the state wants to keep its status as the home of movies and TV.
He says, "What happened was productions that shifted to other states, didn’t come back to California; they went to Louisiana, they went to Florida, they went to New Mexico because they give great tax incentives."

SHATNER’S STAR TREK FEUD WITH NIMOY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:44 pm

WILLIAM SHATNER blames a bitter feud with fellow STAR TREK star LEONARD NIMOY for marring his time on the cult sci-fi series.
The actor, who shot to fame as Captain Kirk in the original 1960s TV show, states tensions built up between himself and Nimoy after the duelling pair indulged in a bout of verbal spats on set.
In his new autobiography, Up Till Now, Shatner explains how Nimoy - who played Mr Spock on the show - thought he was "a real son of a bitch".
And he adds that the actor took his on-set comments the wrong way: "(Nimoy) thought I betrayed him for the amusement of others." However, Shatner insists the pair later became "best friends" after they were thrown back together to take part in Star Trek conventions.
