AMY WINEHOUSE has sparked further fears for her health after displaying yet more erratic behaviour on Friday (09May08), when she got out of her car and wandered along a gridlocked motorway in search of a cigarette.
The Back To Black hitmaker was travelling back to London after staying with friends in Henley-on Thames in Oxfordshire, England, when her car got stuck in traffic on the M40.
The singer was then photographed leaving the vehicle and walking along the side of the road, before leaning into several cars and asking the occupants for cigarettes.
Winehouse was also seen sporting fresh-looking scratches and cuts all over her arms, as well as what appeared to be a cigarette burn just above her wrist - prompting fears she may have resorted to self-harming in a bid to escape her personal troubles.
Earlier this week (07May08), the 24-year-old star was quizzed by police in East London over drug offences, after footage of her allegedly smoking crack cocaine was handed to British police.
It was Winehouse’s second legal woe in as many weeks; The Rehab hitmaker was accused of headbutting a man outside a North London pub on 23 April (08) and later turned herself in to authorities. She escaped that incident with a police caution.

Thrifty SARAH JESSICA PARKER dresses her young son JAMES WILKIE in hand-me-down clothes - because her mother insists on sending her outfits the actress’ brothers used to wear.
The Sex and the City star came from a poor background and had to wear second-hand clothing when she was a child, and even though she’s a millionaire now, she still likes the idea of her son wearing items passed down from family members.
She tells America’s Parade magazine, "He (son) only wears hand-me-downs because I’ve got all these older nephews. That’s the God’s honest truth.
"Plus, my mother saved all my brothers’ clothes. I am not kidding. I don’t think I’ve ever bought him any clothes. Maybe a new winter coat.
"I do buy him shoes, because everybody’s feet are different." And Parker insists her practices will teach her and husband Matthew Broderick’s son the value of hard work: "If I had been raised a child of privilege, I wouldn’t be the working person I am today. I think it’s incumbent on my husband and me to really stress and to show James Wilkie by example what it means to owe your community something and that he is not entitled to the benefits of our hard work.
"That doesn’t mean that I’m withholding or keeping from him the joys of childhood. But I also don’t want him to think the world he lives in is the real world. It’s not."

MADONNA and her director husband GUY RITCHIE have proved themselves to be good parents - because adopted tot DAVID BANDA has grown into an "excellent" child, according to official documents leaked to the press.
The superstar couple brought the then-two-year-old Banda back to Britain from a Malawian orphanage in 2006, but caused controversy after it was claimed they had side-stepped the official adoption process.
However, the Ritchies appear to have won over Malawian authorities, with a new court report praising the couple’s parenting skills.
The document states: "Mr and Mrs Ritchie have shown a strong commitment in providing the infant with all essential needs like love, safe home environment, care, protection, material as well as emotional support." The report, filed by ministry official Simon Chisale, goes on to say little David’s "bonded well with the couple and other key members of the household", and "continues to develop into a happy, thriving toddler. His survival, growth and development is excellent".
The case is due to be reviewed at the Malawian High Court on 15 May (08), when a judge is expected to formally approve the permanent adoption of the child.
Madonna has already had the hearing postponed twice - due to her busy promotion schedule for her new album Hard Candy.

PARIS HILTON is desperate to marry new beau BENJI MADDEN - because the GOOD CHARLOTTE rocker has changed her life for the better.
The pair has denied rumours they’ll be exchanging nuptials anytime soon, but Hilton admits the birth of her on/off best friend Nicole Richie’s daughter Harlow in January (08), with Benji’s twin brother Joel, has made her broody and eager to settle down.
She says, "It’s actually perfect. (Nicole and I) are like sisters, and they’re twins so it works out well. We do talk about (marriage). I’m so happy.
I’m so in love. And I know I want to spend the rest of my life with him.
The couple has been plagued by rumours their romance is merely a publicity stunt since they began dating earlier this year (08), but Hilton insists their affection is genuine: "If you saw us together you’d understand. He’s my boyfriend and my best friend.
"We’ve been friends for over six years now and when (Nicole Richie) had Harlow I started going over to the house and we just got a little crush on each other and totally fell in love. He’s hot." Hilton, who joined Good Charlotte on their European and South African tours last month (Apr08), will again be joining the band when they tour America this summer.

Former JAMES BOND star PIERCE BROSNAN has donated over $1 million (£500,000) to help the environment.
The Irish actor, who now lives in Hawaii with his wife Keely and their children, has become a dedicated ‘green’ campaigner in recent years, receiving an Environmental Leadership Award from the Green Cross organisation in 1997.
And star has set up a trust with his wife, which donates funds to eco-friendly organisations. Brosnan has so far contributed over $1 million (GBP500,000) of his money to help the cause, and he is also urging members of the public to donate in their own way.
He says, "People can give back by donating to offset emissions such as planting trees and paying carbon tax when travelling in environmentally sensitive areas."

BRITNEY SPEARS is set to go head-to-head with WHITNEY HOUSTON in a chart battle later this year (08) - when both stars release their forthcoming albums in the run-up to Christmas.
Houston has reportedly been working on her seventh studio album since 2003, and has even called on R&B star John Legend and producer/rapper Will.I.Am to help her comeback record climb to the top of the charts.

LINDSAY LOHAN has been axed as the star of an upcoming biopic of murderer CHARLES MANSON, amid reports studio bosses fear she has returned to her partying ways.
The actress signed on to play Nancy Pittman - a member of Manson’s ‘family’ earlier this year (08), in independent film Manson Girls.
But her contract has now reportedly been cancelled - and Hollywood gossips claim the decision was made because producers fear two spells in rehab last year (07) failed to cure her of her wild ways.
Celebrity blogger PerezHilton.com claims movie bosses were also struggling to sign other major stars to the movie, because of Lohan’s presence.
The furore comes nearly two years after studio chief James G. Robinson wrote a letter to Lohan attacking her lateness and partying while shooting Georgia Rule in July 2006.

Pop superstar MADONNA has made history by officially endorsing the secondary ticket market - she’s agreed a deal with a separate promoter from Live Nation to sell VIP packages and premium seats for her upcoming world tour.
The singer recently signed a $100 million (£50 million) contract with Los Angeles-based promotions company Live Nation, which will see the firm continue to handle her tours and eventually take over her album distribution too.
The move was a first for the music industry, and now Madonna has followed that up by agreeing a deal with ticket reseller Viagogo, according to Gigwise.com.
The company will, on her behalf, control the sale of ticket packages for the European leg of her Sticky & Sweet tour - the first time an artist has explored such a partnership.
Ticket packages, which often including travel, accommodation and/or VIP seats, are more commonly issued through outside companies with no connection to the artist or band in question.

BOND girl GEMMA ARTERTON was born with an extra finger on each hand and a "crumpled ear".
The St. Trinians beauty underwent treatment as a baby to have her extra digits removed, which involved having the sixth fingers "tied" so they fell off naturally - leaving her with small lumps on the side of her hands.
The 22-year-old - who stars in forthcoming James Bond movie Quantum of Solace - also had an operation on her ear to give it a more defined shape.
She tells British magazine InStyle, "I was born with lots of deformities.
Including an extra finger on each hand and a crumpled ear that has to be erased from pictures."

British actress ANNA FRIEL has been forced to postpone plans to extend her family with partner DAVID THEWLIS - as she can’t get pregnant while starring in U.S. TV show PUSHING DAISIES.
The 31-year-old star has a two-year-old daughter, Gracie, with Thewlis and admits she would love to have more children.
But she insists she will have to wait until she’s finished working on the current hit TV programme - in which she plays a woman who comes back from the dead, but is unable to touch her boyfriend - because it would be too difficult for the writers to explain a baby bump.
She tells British magazine InStyle, "I would like another two, probably, but not yet. I can’t right now.
"I’m not sure how they would explain my character on Daisies getting preggers (pregnant) when her leading man can’t actually touch her. What am I? The Virgin Mary?"

Comedienne WHOOPI GOLDBERG will host this year’s (08) Tony Awards ceremony in New York City.
The 52-year-old star will follow in the footsteps of former hosts Hugh Jackman and David Hyde Pierce when she takes to the stage at the 62nd annual theatre awards show next month (07June08) at the famous Radio City Music Hall.

Actress ANGELA LANSBURY fears drugs would have killed her children had a devastating domestic fire not forced the family to relocate to Ireland.
The Murder, She Wrote star and her late husband Peter Shaw endured "a terrible time" after an inferno destroyed their much-treasured California abode in the late 1960s.
Adding to their woes were children Deirdre and Anthony, who had succumbed to the temptations of narcotics and were spiralling toward an untimely death.
In a bid to consign their bad luck firmly to the past, the family uprooted to Ireland - and Lansbury is convinced the bold decision saved her kids’ lives.
She says, "When my house burned down, it was a terrible time. We lost everything. But I also helped change our lives. Our children were on drugs their friends were overdosing and dying, and the outlook was very bad.
"After the fire, with nothing to stay for, we moved to Ireland. So some good came of it. I don’t think my children would have survived if we hadn’t moved away from temptation."

Former KISS star ACE FREHLEY has ruled out a reunion with the rock band because he is too old to be "putting on makeup and jumping around" onstage.
The guitarist quit the group in 1983 - citing artistic differences for the split. He rejoined Kiss in 1996 for their reunion tour, but gave up his place again in 2001 to concentrate on his solo career.
And Frehley admits that although the rockers are about to embark on a forthcoming world tour later this year (08), he is not tempted to join them on the road.
He says, "I don’t see it happening. I never say never, but I just turned 57.
I don’t see myself getting up onstage with tights on and putting on the makeup and jumping around like, you know, a kid again. Because I don’t physically think I can do it.
"On the last reunion tour, I saw a couple of videos. I think we looked a little tired, you know? I think it’s maybe better to put that segment of Kiss to sleep."

Teen superstar MILEY CYRUS has been offered the chance to pose naked for Playboy magazine, as soon as she turns 18.
Playboy boss Hugh Hefner wants to the 15-year-old to follow up her controversial photographs for Vanity Fair last month (Apr08), and strip off completely in the pages of his legendary men’s magazine - but only when she reaches the legal age.
The Hannah Montana star sparked outrage when the candid snaps - which show Cyrus posing bare-backed, wrapped in a satin sheet - emerged online, forcing the singer/actress to issue an apology over the controversial Annie Leibovitz photos.
Hefner says Cyrus would be "welcomed in the magazine".
The 82-year-old also slammed the furore surrounding her poses for Vanity Fair: "I think to make such a big to do over something as innocent as those photos, I think is a reflection on how schizophrenic America is about sexuality."

LATEST: A federal judge has reinstated a wrongful death lawsuit brought against Los Angeles city officials by the family of slain rapper NOTORIOUS B.I.G. five months after the case was originally thrown out of court.
In December (07), U.S. District Judge Florence Marie Cooper ruled the rap star’s family members did not file a claim against the city and a disgraced Los Angeles cop, believed to be involved with the 1997 murder, by an agreed deadline.
The lawsuit alleged a former police detective and two partners were responsible for the drive-by shooting death of the rapper - real name Christopher Wallace.
But, according to court papers revealed on Thursday (08May08), the Wallace family successfully appealed, and now Cooper is giving them another chance to file a new lawsuit - as long as the paperwork is completed within 20 days.
This is the second time the Wallaces have tried to hold L.A. authorities to account for B.I.G.’s untimely demise - a judge declared a mistrial in a 2002 wrongful death case after learning Los Angeles police officials had withheld evidence.
The 24-year-old’s death remains unsolved.

LATEST: R&B star R. KELLY has had a last-minute bid to postpone his child pornography trial denied.
Earlier this week (begs05May08), Kelly’s lawyers submitted a new motion appealing to have the case temporarily delayed due to a recent "torrent of publicity" surrounding the case, which they feel could have a negative effect on the trial’s outcome.
But a Chicago, Illinois judge dismissed Kelly’s attorneys’ request on Friday (09May08), when jury selection was due to start, and ruled trial proceedings will continue as planned - six years (02) after he was charged with having sex with a minor.
The 41-year-old has pleaded not guilty to 14 charges of child pornography, after a videotape emerged allegedly showing him having sex with an underage girl. However, the trial looks to be a messy one - both Kelly and his now-23-year-old alleged sexual partner both insist it isn’t them on the videotape.
Kelly faces up to 15 years in prison if he’s convicted.

A representative for MISCHA BARTON has hit out at money-hungry publications printing unflattering photos of the actress - insisting the images were manipulated in a bid to sell more magazine copies.
Images of 22-year-old Barton, many of which showed her topless and with cellulite on her thighs, were splashed in various magazines and newspapers and online last week (ends02May08).
And although Barton has insisted she’s happy with her body, her spokesperson Lisa Perkins is adamant someone tampered with the photos to suit their own financial gain.
Perkins tells The New York Daily News, "Those photos are doctored. I’m not saying she’s perfect, nobody is. But they’ve given a 22-year-old woman the legs and bottom of an 80-year-old.
"Look at the shots that were taken shortly before on a beach in Los Angeles.
Did she develop all that cellulite in a couple of weeks? There’s a lot you can do with Photoshopping." Perkins also calls photographer Jamie Fawcett - who shot the images of the actress on vacation with her mother on Hamilton Island, off Australia’s East Coast - a "parasite" out to make Barton look bad because "she called him out for taking the topless shots".
She adds, "It is a shame that publications tend to highlight an issue that isn’t fair to a young girl. However, sometimes these are the things that sell pictures." But the British Daily Mail newspaper, which also published the photos, stands by their authenticity, placing blame on Barton’s bad habits: "The nasty habit (smoking) is one of the reasons (for) premature emergence of her cellulite."

MARIAH CAREY and rapper/actor NICK CANNON stepped out together for the first time as husband and wife when they hit the Time 100 party in New York City on Thursday night (08May08).
The couple, who exchanged nuptials in a surprise wedding last week (30Apr08) at the singer’s mansion in the Bahamas, showed off their wedding rings as they mingled with other celebrity guests at the event hosted by Time magazine.
