IRWIN SETTLES ZOO LAWSUIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:23 pm

The widow of Crocodile Hunter STEVE IRWIN has settled a legal battle with a debt recovery agency out of court.
Terri Irwin and the family’s Australia Zoo were to be sued for money allegedly owed to trustee partners.
The zoo was being sued for $2.5 million (£1.25 million) and Mrs Irwin for $60,000 (£30,000) by debt collection company Alyssa Treasury.
But Victoria state County Court Judge Maree Kennedy dismissed the case on Wednesday (07May08) after a confidential agreement was reached out of court between Alyssa Treasury and Australia Zoo, Terri Irwin, and seven other unrelated companies.
The lawsuit, which had been due to go to trial in October (08), involved a complex loan deal with an offshore bank that ran into trouble with Australian tax authorities.
Steve Irwin was killed in a stingray attack in 2006 while filming a television series.
