LATEST: The welfare fund set up to help troubled rocker PETE DOHERTY cope upon his release from prison on Tuesday (06May08) only managed to raise a paltry $34.20 (£17.10).
The Babyshambles frontman was jailed for 14 weeks on 8 April (08) for "breach of time-keeping, non-compliance of his (probation) order and using different drugs".
Stefano Passantino, the founder of British clothing company Lastseason.com, set up a fund to help the star get his life back in order after he was freed donating all the proceeds from stripey T-shirts sold on the firm’s website.
Doherty won an early release from London’s Wormwood Scrubs Prison on Tuesday, but Passantino admits his campaign failed to get much of a response from the star’s fans.
He says, "Sales have been somewhat disappointing - we only sold six stripey tops. We had planned to do a big presentation and get a big cheque made up, but it seems pointless for a mere 17 quid and change. I wish Pete better luck selling records." Passantino has sent a cheque for the amount to Doherty’s management, which is expected to be forwarded to an undisclosed charity. Pop superstar MADONNA is reportedly planning to put her English country home on the market - and is eyeing a profit of $6 million (£3 million).
The singer bought the house in Wiltshire, England, for $18 million (£9 million) with her husband Guy Ritchie, a year after the couple married in 2000.
But they now stand to gain a huge profit if the luxurious property, which boasts eight bathrooms and two gyms, sells for their asking price of $24 million (£12 million).
Madonna and Ritchie - who split their time between the country estate and their Marylebone, London, townhouse - are said to own a further five houses in the British capital, as well as a home in Beverly Hills and an apartment in New York.

Hollywood actor TOM CRUISE has launched a new website to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his first starring role in a movie - as a "thank you" to his fans for supporting him throughout his career.
Cruise landed his first major part 1983’s Risky Business; a role that catapulted him to Hollywood superstardom. He has gone on to appear in over 30 major motion pictures and has become one of the biggest stars in the world.
And the 45-year-old has now launched TomCruise.com, writing a personal message to his supporters on the homepage.
The note reads, "In celebration of this occasion, and my 27 years of making movies, I created this site as a thank you, to you, for sharing the journey with me and to invite you to continue to explore what the future will bring…
"My hope with this site is to bring you in and share with you the fun I experience every day during the filmmaking process, from working on the script, to the making of the film, through to what we finally see when we settle into our seats and the lights go down."

ENTOURAGE star ADRIAN GRENIER loves starring on the hit TV show so much, he would happily sign a 10-year contract to guarantee his name on the credits for the next decade.
The actor has been playing the lead role in the Mark Wahlberg-produced show for four years, portraying movie star Vincent Chase.
And Grenier is convinced there is still so much that can be done with his character.

TRANSFORMERS star SHIA LaBEOUF wanted to abandon his acting career to become a rapper - but gave up when he realised it "wasn’t his forte".
The 21-year-old is a big fan of hip-hop music and its culture, and he was convinced he would be able to emulate his idols with the launch of his own rap career.
But the actor soon discovered he wasn’t as good a lyricist as he’d first thought.
He says, "Like every other Jewish guy, I went through a stage of wanting to be black. A few years ago I convinced myself I was a gangsta rapper and I started writing songs.

BATMAN fans have cleaned out New York toy stores’ entire supply of HEATH LEDGER’s JOKER action figure, within minutes of them going on sale.
Devotees of the comic book series lined up early to clear shelves of the $9.99 (£5) toy, which shows Ledger in his final completed role before his premature death in January from an accidental drug overdose, aged just 29.
An employee of Times Square’s Toys R Us store says, "There are none left in the warehouse. You will be waiting a while if you want one." Some fans are believed to be buying up stock, convinced the figure is a collector’s item - others are selling them on auction site eBay for up to $55 (£27.50) each.
Ledger will be seen as The Joker alongside Christian Bale’s Batman in The Dark Knight - which hits movie theatres worldwide from July (08).

Former BAYWATCH actor JOSE SOLANO has been arrested and charged with burglary and hit and run, after allegedly stealing tattoo designs from a parlour before hitting a light pole as he made his getaway.
The 37-year-old was arrested by cops in Placerville, California on his way from Reno, Nevada to San Francisco on 28 April (08).
He is accused of stopping at the Hangtown Tattoo and Body Piercing parlor and stealing several pages of designs. After owner David Cameron chased him down the street, he is claimed to have jumped in his car, reversed into the pole, and then sped off - before police caught up with him.
Cameron tells CBS news, "I was pretty shocked. You know, when I found out he was on Baywatch, I was even more shocked." Solano - who played Manny Gutierrez in the Baywatch for three years - was released from El Dorado County Jail on $10,000 (£5,000) bail.

Actress JUDY DAVIS has testified in court against an Australian newspaper, accusing the tabloid’s bosses of depicting her as a child-hater after she suggested authorities move a local soccer park so residents are not hit by stray balls.
The Australian native, best known for her role in 1984’s A Passage To India, which earned her a Best Actress Academy Award nomination, appeared at a local council meeting in 2006 to discuss the location of a sportspark near her Sydney home.
At the meeting, the star suggested the park be moved to another venue, to avoid residents being hit while junior teams are training there.
But Davis, 53, was outraged at the press coverage of the event, and launched legal action against Sydney paper The Daily Telegraph - accusing the publication of defamation over a series of articles which appeared in February 2006.
Giving evidence at the New South Wales Supreme Court on Tuesday (06May08), she said: "I was dumbfounded really that The Daily Telegraph would do that to me. I couldn’t understand why they had done it.
"It seemed to me that they were running a bit of a campaign against me, some kind of vendetta." But Davis insists the real victim of the situation is her young daughter, who was eight at the time.
She added, "The parents of the girls in her class might not want her to play with them, because her mother (according to the newspaper) doesn’t like children. And maybe the soccer team that she’s just joined… might not want her in the team. They’re very big things in a young girl’s life."

Rocker JOHN MAYER has hinted that magazine reports claiming he is romancing JENNIFER ANISTON are true - and admits he loves the press attention he is getting as a result.
The pair was snapped embracing on a Miami, Florida beach last week (26-27May08), prompting speculation they are an item.

Motown legend MARTHA REEVES has been robbed of $1 million (£500,000)-worth of uninsured recording equipment, following a raid on her childhood home in Detroit, Michigan.
The former star of Martha Reeves and the Vandellas was burgled on Sunday (04May08) night, after raiders kicked in the back door of the house, which is now owned by her father.
The Jimmy Mack singer claims speakers and microphones were among the items stolen.
Reeves, 66, is now a member of Detroit Council, and revealed the robbery during a meeting about the police on Monday (05May08).
She said, "I would cry if I wasn’t an adult. It’s a lifetime of saving and buying.
"My neighbours didn’t see a thing. People are out of work and taking what they can."

Teen sensation MILEY CYRUS prefers to cover up when it comes to fashion despite recently posing half naked for a Vanity Fair magazine shoot.

Obsessed UMA THURMAN fan JACK JORDAN has been found guilty of stalking and harassing the Hollywood star.
The jury at New York’s Manhattan Supreme Court delivered its verdict shortly before midday (EST) on Tuesday (06May08).
Jordan, 37, was found guilty of fourth-degree stalking and one count of second degree aggravated harassment.
