CHARLIE SHEEN is to wed fiancee BROOKE MUELLER at the end of the month (May08).
The couple has told U.S. magazine In Touch exclusively that the nuptials will take place on 30 May (08).
Sheen and Mueller met at a party in early 2006, just after Sheen had separated from his then-wife, Denise Richards.
The actor proposed to the real estate agent-turned TV personality last summer (Jul07).
This will be Sheen’s third marriage and Mueller’s first.

LATEST: NICOLE KIDMAN and former THE WEST WING star KIRSTEN CHENOWETH will go head-to-head in two rival biopics of the same star - 1960s singer DUSTY SPRINGFIELD.
Last week (01May08), scriptwriter Michael Cunningham revealed Kidman will play Springfield in his movie, about the late soul star’s rise to fame in the 1960s and her battles with alcohol, drugs and mental health problems, before her death from breast cancer in 1999.
The movie, which reunites Cunningham with his The Hours star Kidman, will be made by movie studio Fox.
Meanwhile, rivals Universal are planning their own Springfield project, starring Chenoweth, which will be written and directed by Jessica Sharzer.

DAVID HASSELHOFF insists he’ll have nothing to do with a planned KNIGHT RIDER TV series because producers ignored his ideas for the project’s hit pilot and ousted him as a guest star.
Hasselhoff, who was the original Knight Rider on TV in the 1980s, claims he came up with the idea of reviving the franchise and even presented TV bosses with a plot treatment for the show.
But when producers decided to take a different direction for the TV pilot, which aired in America earlier this year (08), and cut Hasselhoff out, the Baywatch creator decided he wanted nothing to do with the new Knight Rider.
He rants, "Basically, I brought the project into (TV network) NBC
. They read my treatment, which involved Michael Knight and his son, and they called me up and said ‘Hey, we’re going ahead.’" But it soon became clear that producers were going in a different direction: "They asked me to come in and do a cameo and promote it and I said I would
. But it was not what I had in mind.
"I didn’t get a chance to see the show until the final product and it was clearly not what it could’ve been
. It was someone else’s vision.
"I clearly could’ve brought more of Michael Knight and the past into it
. The bottom line was they missed a big audience because it was not retro and that was the whole point of it - being retro.
"I mean everybody grew up watching that show and they loved it
. They missed the point of heart, humour and action
. They didn’t have heart, humour and I don’t know how they didn’t have action."

JESSICA SIMPSON has taken aim at movie critics who call her films flops.
The pop star/actress insists box office sales show she’s actually a good luck charm for movies.
She protests, "For people to say (movie) Employee of The Month was a flop is ludicrous.
"It made the money back - that’s not a flop. For people to say The Dukes of Hazzard was a flop - it opened at $30 million.
"If these movies are flops, why would I still make them?" Unfortunately for Simpson, her last film, Major Movie Star, really was a flop - in America.

A photographer snapping RIHANNA and CHRIS BROWN at Brown’s 19th birthday party in Florida on Monday (5Apr08) has accused the singer’s bodyguards of beating him up and stealing his camera.
Tampa Bay Times photographer Luis Santana, 25, claims he was chased and pinned down by minders, who swiped his $3,000 (GBP1,500) camera, when he tried to take pictures of Brown arriving at St. Petersburg’s Vintage Ultra Lounge.
Santana alleges he was left with abrasions and bruises on his chest, back and arms.
He says, "I’ve shot many many celebrities and this was just another notch on my belt. Then it just turned sour." Police are investigating four unnamed male suspects, who left the scene in a limousine.

GINA GERSHON got in shape for 1996 movie BOUND by beating up rock legend BOB DYLAN in the gym.
The actress’s trainer introduced her to Dylan, who is a longtime closet boxer, and the pair slugged it out every Thursday until Gershon was ready to star in the raunchy movie.
And she reveals she had the upper hand on the then-55-year-old singer/songwriter: "He’s small. We’re the same size. And we agreed not to hit each other in the face.
"Right off, Bob pops a hard one straight onto my nose. I charged back and caught him on the jaw. He went down like he was out cold. But, as he lay there, he said, `Just what I need. A good woman to kick my butt.’"

LATEST: BRITNEY SPEARS has won a boost in her child custody battle following a hearing in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning (06May08).
Sealed documents were reviewed in a closed court session, and though the existing custodial arrangement remains in place between the singer and her ex-husband Kevin Federline, both parties insist there has been progress.
Spears’ custody rights were suspended in January (08) after police and emergency services were called to the singer’s home after she refused to hand over one of her sons to a Federline bodyguard following a visitation period.
Ever since then Spears has been fighting to regain visitation. The arrangement was modified a month ago when Federline agreed his troubled ex could spend time with their sons again as long as the visits were properly supervised.
And speaking outside court after Tuesday’s hearing, Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan called the court meeting "a step going forward" for both his client and Spears.
He said, "The order that was in place has remained in place but there has been a graduated expansion of time." Kaplan was complimentary about Spears’ progress following her commitment to a psychiatric ward in February (08), and credited her father Jamie, who has been given full control of his daughter’s personal affairs, for adding stability to her life.
Federline’s attorney said, "What was a seemingly daily situation in extreme flux has been stabilised." As WENN went to press there were no fixed details as to how the custody deal would change.
Following the hearing, a statement from Spears’ parents read, "We are so pleased with Britney’s progress and we are very appreciative of the court’s recognition of this progress." A progress hearing will be held on 15 July (08) and another hearing will be held in August (08) to review "how the modified custody arrangement has evolved".

MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY is among the favourites to land the leading role in Marvel’s upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA movie, according to reports.
The Sahara star is an early leader in the race to don the patriotic red, white and blue suit for the 2011 movie.
But website CinemaBlend.com insists McConaughey is only one of the actors Marvel bosses are considering for the role.
MovieBlend.com also offers a critique of the movie star as Captain America, suggesting he’d be a "strange choice".
The website reports, "Though he’s made a lot of movies, there’s still been no real evidence that Matthew can really act. Aside from his questionable acting ability, there’s also his public persona as a rarely bathed, pot smoking slacker.

Fair-skinned DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star MARCIA CROSS is trying to scare people against staying out of the sun as the spokeswoman for awareness group Skin Cancer Takes Friends.
The actress teamed up with the organisation last year (07) and now spends much of her time away from Wisteria Lane warning about the dangers of tanning on unprotected skin and urging sun worshippers to get their skin checked regularly.
Cross, who reveals there’s a history of skin cancer in her family, says, "I’m not a sun worshipper and I want to convince people not to be, which is a hard sell.
"So I always encourage people to find a dermatologist in your area and make an appointment, because, when not detected, skin cancer is a deadly disease.
"One person dies every hour. The curable rate detected early is about 100 per cent and, if you let it go, it will literally kill you. A dermatologist told me a dime-size melanoma, when not detected, can kill you in six months." And the actress’ message has already got through to her husband Tom Mahoney after he was treated for a skin cancer scare.
She adds, "I’ve really had to nag to get him to take care of his skin and, sure enough, he was at the dermatologist for something else and the doctor wound up burning a little precancerous thing off his cheek and now he puts that sunscreen on."

Actress JESSICA LANGE has been named Save the Children’s newest ambassador and the spokesperson for the humanitarian organisation’s annual State of the World’s Mothers report.
Released on Tuesday (06May08), the report finds more than 200 million children under the age of five do not get basic health care when they need it.
Lange has joined Save The Children in an effort to promote the training of local community health workers in remote and underserved areas.
Lange says, "When your child gets sick with a common illness in the United States, you go to the doctor or pick up medicine at the local drug store.
"But that’s not the reality for millions of mothers in the poorest countries and communities around the world, where nearly 10 million children under five die every year.
"Last month, I travelled with Save the Children to Ethiopia, where four out of five children do not receive basic health measures.
"The good news is that Ethiopia is taking aggressive steps to reduce its child death rate through a community health worker program. In remote villages like Awassa, I met mothers whose babies are alive today because they got the advice and lifesaving medicines they needed through this program."

LATEST: Rocker BOB GELDOF’s daughter PEACHES will escape police charges after she was caught on tape buying drugs - because it’s impossible to prove what substance she was paying for.
In a scandalous new video, the 19 year old appears to be handing over GBP190 ($380) to a London dealer in return for an unknown substance.
But, thanks to a legal loophole, police cannot prosecute her without proof of the drug.
Instead they are concentrating their efforts on convicting the dealers, Jonny Blagrove and Carla Burton.
A police source tells British newspaper the Daily Mail, "At present, there is no prospect of Peaches being charged with criminal offences. However, she could end up being a vital witness."

Reunited rockers THE POLICE have struck a deal with New York City Mayor MICHAEL BLOOMBERG to forest the Big Apple with proceeds from their last ever live date.
The trio and Bloomberg staged a press conference in Times Square on Tuesday (06May08) to confirm the band’s final concert ever will take place at an as-yet unnamed venue in the city.
Rainforest campaigner Sting used the press conference to announce that he and bandmates Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland will also contribute $1 million (GBP500,000) to Bloomberg’s MillionTreesNYC initiative, a gift the city will match.
The $2 million (GBP1 million) windfall will aid the planting of trees all over New York City.
Sting said, "Some people may be surprised to know that the greatest single contribution to greenhouse gases is deforestation.
"We all want cleaner and cooler air, and planting trees is the best way to achieve that.
"We have a long history in New York. We came here first in 1978. We want to leave a gift that will last for decades." Sting refused to comment on where The Police’s final show will be, other than to state it will "probably be indoors".
During the press conference, the mayor presented each member of The Police with his own key to New York City; Sting presented the Mayor with an all-access backstage pass for all of the group’s remaining shows.

U.S. gay rights activists are saluting TV bosses at ABC for staging the first same sex marriage between cast regulars in a hit TV show.
The event will air on Brothers & Sisters this weekend (11May08) when Matthew Rhys and Luke MacFarlane’s characters Kevin and Scotty are joined in a commitment ceremony.
Neil G. Giuliano, the President of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), says, "We applaud ABC for highlighting Kevin and Scotty’s declaration of commitment to each other in the presence of their family and friends.

The attorney representing the woman REMY MA has been accused of shooting and injuring has blasted the rapper for going public with her conspiracy claims.
Ma, real name Remy Smith, was convicted of first-degree assault and weapons charges for the July, 2007 attack on Makeda Barnes Joseph.
While awaiting sentencing at Rikers Island prison in New York, the rap star conducted a phone interview with Sirius Satellite radio DJ Kay Slay, in which she claimed her conviction was part of a vast conspiracy.
During the interview, Ma said she was "forever innocent" and that the verdict was not based on facts, but on race, telling listeners "don’t be mistaken by a jury that was not my peers like, there was not tan, dark brown, black, nothing on that jury. It’s a whole conspiracy.
"Just because 12 people say something who weren’t there does not mean nothing." But Barnes-Joseph’s lawyer Lauren Raysor has dismissed the convicted star’s account of the verdict, stating, "As I recall, the jury was more ethnically diverse than Remy Ma claims and certainly more than her legal team.
"Secondly, her attorney admitted in court that Remy pulled the trigger of the gun she brought into Makeda’s car on July 14. The only conspiracy I can see is the one Remy Ma is trying hatch."

SHIA LaBEOUF will have to paint HARRISON FORD’s garage if their new film INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL fails to become the most successful installment in the movie franchise.
The pair both star in the fourth installment of the action adventure series and LaBeouf is so convinced the film will be a box office hit, he has made a bet with Ford.
If the film fails to live up to his expectations and he loses the wager, LaBeouf will not only have to redecorate the actor’s garage, he will have to build the veteran star a new one too.
LaBeouf says, "If this is not the biggest Indiana Jones movie yet, then I’ve got to paint Harrison Ford’s garage.
"If it is a flop, I’ve actually got to build him a new garage and then paint that, too. But this film is gonna be huge. It has to be - I’m not too keen on the idea of all that painting."
