VARIETY SHOW STAR HAGER DIES
American TV and country star JIM HAGER has died, aged 66.
Hager, best known for teaming up with his twin brother Jon for the variety TV show Hee Haw, passed away on Thursday (01May08) at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, shortly after collapsing in a Tennessee parking lot having suffered an apparent heart attack.
The Hager brothers graced TV screens in the 1970s and ’80s and were well-loved for their musical and comedy sketches on the programme.
They also scored five U.S. chart hits after signing a deal with Capitol Records.
Paying tribute to Jim Hager, family friend Adam Dread says, "Jim, really both of them were just always fooling around, always laughing, always saying something to make you laugh. Jim was so funny but also so sincere." Jim is survived by his brother Jon.
