British singer LILY ALLEN was so unimpressed by a birthday cake gift from the paparazzi, she threw it on the floor.
The Smile hitmaker - who turned 23 on Friday (02May08) - celebrated her birthday at the Groucho Club in London’s Soho district on Thursday night (01May08).
The star, who wore a white birthday crown, was handed the cake as a gift from the waiting photographers at the stroke of midnight. But, as photographers poised themselves to snap Allen blowing out the candles, she hurled the cake in their direction.

ASHTON KUTCHER was delighted to return to Las Vegas to film new comedy WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS - because it reminded him of a drunken night he spent in the city with porn stars.
The 30-year-old star travelled to Sin City with co-star Cameron Diaz to shoot 20 per cent of the movie.
And the trip brought back some interesting memories of the night a drunk Kutcher spent with porn icon Ron Jeremy.
He explains, "I turned $1,000 into $25,000 playing Craps, then ended up on stage with a rap group, with a bottle of champagne in one hand, standing next to Ron Jeremy, rapping to a sea of porn stars and silicone. The rest of the night is fuzzy.
"I actually might be the only person who didn’t have sex with Ron Jeremy him that night. He actually kept introducing me to this woman named Egypt and tried to hook it up but that wasn’t my cup of tea."

CAMERON DIAZ has returned to work to promote her new movie WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS just weeks after her father passed away. The actress made her first public appearance following the death of her father, Emilio Diaz, at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film on Thursday (01May08).
Smiling Diaz waved to the crowd as she walked the red carpet with co-star Ashton Kutcher and took time to energetically grab a microphone to challenge fans to a screaming match for a chance to attend the premiere.
She told reporters: "I am doing very well." Diaz had previously missed both the London and Las Vegas premieres and a press event in Los Angeles as she mourned her father’s unexpected death.
Emilio Diaz died suddenly last month (15Apr08), aged 58, after a bout of influenza developed into pneumonia, and the Hollywood actress subsequently cancelled all of her work engagements - including the promotional tour for the new film.

JAY-Z has joined heavyweights MADONNA and U2 after signing a new mega-millions deal with concert promoters Live Nation.
The rapper has landed 775,434 Live Nation shares, plus an option on an additional 500,000 after setting up a joint entertainment venture with Live Nation bosses.
The Live Nation/Jay-Z deal began in December (07). News broke in The New York Times last month (Apr08).
Live Nation will now promote all of Jay-Z’s recording and performance ventures.
According to Billboard.com, Live Nation will contribute $5 million (£2.5 million) each year in overhead for five years and offer $25 million (£12.5 million) to finance Jay-Z’s external acquisitions and investments, plus $10 million (£5 million) per album for a minimum of three albums.
Jay-Z will also receive another $20 million (£10 million) for other rights, including publishing and licensing.
Live Nation is already producing the current Jay-Z/Mary J. Blige tour in North America.
The rapper reportedly wed longtime girlfriend Beyonce Knowles last month (Apr08).

Director LOUIS LETERRIER has dismissed reports he had a major falling out with actor EDWARD NORTON on the set of THE INCREDIBLE HULK.
According to various reports, Norton had been "passionate" about the film, but quite difficult to work with.
However, Leterrier has quashed rumours of a fall-out with Norton - instead putting the speculation down to minor artistic differences.
He says, "I haven’t had an argument with Edward and I’ve been working with him for a year. Those kind of discussions happen all the time on films. They just don’t usually happen with someone as famous as Edward Norton."

LATEST: A U.K. newspaper has been forced to apologise to pregnant singer LISA MARIE PRESLEY after it published an article alleging she was overweight.
Elvis Presley’s daughter says the Daily Mail’s story, which was picked up by various media sources worldwide, ridiculed her appearance and forced her to disclose she is expecting a child.
Simon Smith, the star’s U.K. lawyer, claimed the publication’s claims she had an "unhealthy appetite" and is "growing like her dad" caused her to feel "deeply upset and offended".
On Friday (02May08) the 40-year-old received an apology from Associated Newspapers, the Daily Mail’s publishers, after she launched a libel claim at London’s High Court.
Presley has two teenage children from her previous marriage to Danny Keogh Riley, 18, and 15-year-old Benjamin - but this is her first child with husband Michael Lockwood.

Actress DENISE RICHARDS has launched a legal bid to separate her joint bank account with ex-husband CHARLIE SHEEN.
The 37-year-old has a number of financial obligations - including paying her late mother’s medical bills - and is demanding the accounts are divided equally so she can start spending her share.
In her motion, Richards is demanding between $100,000 (£50,000) and $250,000 (£125,000) is split between the pair, reports TMZ.com.
The couple split in 2005 after three years of marriage. Their divorce was made official a year later (06).

British rockers THE CURE have made a ground-breaking promise to fans - they will release a single per month until their new album hits music store shelves this autumn (08).
The band, led by frontman Robert Smith, is set to unleash their first single from their as-yet untitled album on 13 May (08), and will follow it up with A and B-side singles on the 13th of every month until their next album, their 13th studio effort, is released in September (08).
The first single, The Only One, includes the B-side NY Trip, while the single due in June, Freakshow, comes with the B-side All Kinds Of Stuff. Both B-sides will not appear on the full-length LP.
The Close To Me hitmakers will embark on an extensive North American tour on 9 May (08) in support of the new album.

Rap mogul DIDDY is taking his search to find a new intern to TV. The music business entrepreneur received over a million entries when he staged online ‘auditions’ last year (07) - and actually hired a young woman who contacted him via website YouTube.com.
But she has since turned the job down to work abroad, and now Diddy is teaming up with U.S. cable channel VH1 to find the perfect assistant.
He says, "We felt that it would be an inspiring story… It’s really a hilarious show.
"People from all over the United States come in and they’re really competing to work for me." The new reality show will be called I Wanna Work With Diddy.

Reunited rockers STONE TEMPLE PILOTS returned to the live stage in Hollywood on Thursday night (01May08) for a performance on live TV.
The hitmakers performed Vasoline and Trippin’ On a Hole in a Paper Heart for the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show.
The band will kick off a reunion tour in Ohio on 17 May (08), after frontman Scott Weiland serves a nine-day prison sentence after pleading guilty to drink driving.
Thursday night’s show marked the first time the four-piece had played together in public since they split in 2003.

SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS has taken over Hollywood’s top trade paper, Daily Variety, with no less than 17 full-page ads congratulating the hip-hop mogul on his Hollywood Walk of Fame star honour.
Diddy will unveil his star right in front of Los Angeles landmark Mann’s Chinese Theatre on Friday (02May08).
As well as the 17 ads, from the likes of MTV, BET Networks and fellow mogul Antonio ‘LA’ Reid, there are also personal paid-for tributes from Aretha Franklin, who calls the Walk of Fame honour, "A Star for a superstar," and superproducer Dallas Austin.
Variety itself pays tribute to Diddy with a seven-page spread honouring all aspects of the music businessman’s life.

LATEST: Country star KENNY CHESNEY "felt great" as he resumed his tour on Thursday (01May08) after injuring his foot in an onstage accident.
The singer shattered tendons in his foot during a concert in South Carolina on Saturday night (26Apr08) on machinery lifting him up onto the stage.
After receiving medical treatment, the 40-year-old returned to the stage at Austin’s Frank Erwin Center, Texas to continue his Poets & Pirates tour.
He tells People.com, "I had eight shots in my foot (to deaden the pain) and I wasn’t sure how it was going to feel.
"I gotta tell you, once I hit that stage, it felt great." Chesney - who didn’t break any bones because his foot had been protected by his trademark cowboy boots - admits he was happy to continue with his performance despite the injury.
He adds, "It happened so fast, I was pretty much in shock during the first two or three songs. "I didn’t know what was wrong. I knew it was bad, but I didn’t know what it was.
"I feel bad that I didn’t get to give the people (in South Carolina) everything I intended to, but I gave ‘em everything I had."

One of NICK CANNON’s relatives has confirmed reports the rapper/actor has wed singer MARIAH CAREY.
New York gossip columnist Paula Froelich, who broke the wedding story, claims the couple married at Carey’s home in the Bahamas on Wednesday (30Apr08), and now a family member has confirmed the reports.
Linda Cannon tells E! News, "He called and told us all about it. I’m not going to give you any details. If that is what he wants, then we are happy for him." Hero hitmaker Carey has been dating Cannon since he teamed up with her in a new video in March (08). The couple has spent the past week promoting separate films at New York’s TriBeCa Film Festival, where the pop diva was spotted wearing a diamond and platinum ring on her wedding finger.

Rap star 50 CENT has enjoyed an intimate chat with former South African president NELSON MANDELA in his Johannesburg home.
The star, real name Curtis Jackson, is currently touring South Africa and Tanzania with G-Unit, and was lucky enough to be granted a meeting with the revered former politician at his armed security-surrounded home earlier this week (begs28Apr08), reports MTV News.
Jackson and nine others, including crew from MTV who are filming the trip, were invited into Mandela’s living room, where he was reading the paper. The pair chatted in front of the cameras, before talking in private.
Earlier the same day, Jackson visited the Hector Pieterson Memorial museum in Soweto to meet Mandela’s grandson, who gave the star a lesson on Apartheid and its effect on South Africa.
The documentary will be shown through MTV later this month (May08).

BOND girl GEMMA ARTERTON was forced to learn how to milk a cow for her latest role in a BBC TV series.
The 22-year-old - who appears in forthcoming 007 picture Quantum of Solace plays the title role in an adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s famous novel Tess of the D’Ubervilles.
And to play the legendary milkmaid, the star had to go for lessons at a farm in Gloustershire, England, to learn milking techniques on goats.
Farmer Judy King tells British newspaper The Sun, "She was a very confident young lady, very down to earth. She just got on with it all. She brought a bit of glamour to the farm, but she’d have a future with livestock if she wasn’t in the movies."
