FRANCIS OFFERS DUPRE $1 MILLION SETTLEMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:44 pm

GIRLS GONE WILD founder JOE FRANCIS has offered call-girl ASHLEY DUPRE $1 million (£500,000) to drop a lawsuit against him - and wants her to take up a job with his company.
Ashley Dupre is seeking more than $10 million (£5 million) in damages in a lawsuit filed on Monday (28Apr08).
Dupre alleges that Girls Gone Wild representatives approached her while she was vacationing in Florida in 2003 and offered her alcohol before encouraging her to expose her breasts for their cameras when she was just 17.
The suit claims Girls Gone Wild has illegally exploited Dupre’s name, picture, voice and likeness in a number of deceptive ad campaigns and on websites.
On Tuesday (29Apr08), Francis offered her $1 million to drop the case because he thinks she has "zero" chance of winning the suit - and has even offered the aspiring songstress the opportunity to work with him hosting Girls Gone Wild events.
He tells The New York Daily News, "It is incomprehensible that Ms. Dupre could claim she did not give her consent to be filmed by Girls Gone Wild, when … we have videotape of her giving consent."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:41 pm

The man who killed late BEATLE JOHN LENNON has reportedly become obsessed with actress LINDSAY LOHAN - turning his cell into a shrine to the star.

The murderer has pictures of the troubled star, who plays his girlfriend Jude in the movie Chapter 27, plastered all over his walls at the prison, according to Ireland’s Sunday World newspaper.

SHEEN ACCUSED OF USING ESCORT SERVICE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:53 pm

Hollywood actor CHARLIE SHEEN has been accused of regularly using a high-profile escort service.
The Platoon star reportedly answered a newspaper advertisement for Nici’s Girls which charges customers $25,000 (£12,500) per night - and placed an order for four escorts.
The 42-year-old - who was accused by ex-wife Denise Richards of having an unhealthy love for prostitutes and Internet porn - reportedly paid agency owner Nici $20,000 (£10,000) for their services.
Nici made the revelations to Rolling Stone magazine journalist Vanessa Grigoriadis.
The reporter tells New York Post’s PageSix.com, "When Nici dropped four girls off at his penthouse, she found the actor in silk pyjamas with ‘C. MaSheen’ embroidered over the pocket.
"Sheen gave her a $20,000 check for the girls, and she picked them up several hours later." Despite entering court-ordered rehab for substance abuse, Nici "continued to book girls for him, furtively sending them to a doctor’s office in Los Angeles owned by a friend of Sheen’s.
"The orderlies at the rehab centre would let him out for his frequent medical appointments." Nici told Grigoriadis she continued to send girls for Sheen at a hotel in Santa Monica, California until last year (07). Sheen became engaged to fiancee Brooke Mueller in July (07).
In response to the allegations, Sheen’s publicist Stan Rosenfield tells PageSix.som, "This is an old, old, old story. But, if you’re looking for a really good story, I heard that Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe are getting a divorce."

ABDUL MAKES IDOL BLUNDER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:50 pm

AMERICAN IDOL judge PAULA ABDUL was left red-faced after making an embarrassing blunder on the hit reality TV show.
The singer was flummoxed after the series’ producers changed the judging format from the usual pattern of appraising each contest after they had sung to waiting until all five had performed.
When asked to appraise first performer Jason Castro, Abdul gave her opinions on two performances - even though each singer had only sung once.
She told contestant Jason Castro, "Oh gosh, we’ve never had to write these things down … fast enough. Jason, first song, I loved hearing your lower register, which we never really hear, um … .
"The second song, I felt like your usual charm wasn’t - it was missing for me. It kind of left me a little empty. The two songs made me feel like you’re not fighting hard enough to get into the top four." The audience launched into nervous laughter, before fellow judge Randy Jackson reminded Abdul each performer had only sung once, telling her, "That was just on the first song. Just on the first one." She responded, "Oh my god, I thought you - I thought you sang twice!" before explaining she had got mixed up with her notes for the next performer, David Cook.
Abdul later blamed American Idol producers for her mix up, telling TV show Entertainment Tonight she has been "in the dark" over the change in format.
Fellow judge Simon Cowell also admitted the switch had been difficult, saying, "This was officially the strangest show we’ve ever done but I like that. It’s kind of a bit chaotic tonight."

FALCO REFUSED CASTMATES’ SYMPATHY WITH SECRET CANCER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:44 pm

THE SOPRANOS star EDIE FALCO kept her 2003 cancer battle a secret from her fellow castmates because she couldn’t bear their sympathy.
The 44-year-old actress was given the all-clear from breast cancer in 2004, but didn’t want to tell her co-stars as their well-wishes would have "driven (her) crazy".
She tells Health magazine, "I kept my diagnosis under the radar, even from the cast and crew, because well-meaning people would have driven me crazy asking, ‘How are you feeling?’ I would have wanted to say, ‘I’m scared, I don’t feel so good, and my hair is falling out!’ "I bucked up, put on my Carmela fingernails, and was ready to work."

WINEHOUSE TO LEAVE RECORD LABEL?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:41 am

AMY WINEHOUSE is reportedly planning on leaving her music label Island Records after the release of her next LP.
The Back To Black hitmaker is on a three-album deal with the British-based firm, a subsidiary of Universal Music, and is said to be keen on quitting as soon as she completes her third disc.
And the star is reportedly planning on shunning other music labels in favour of setting up her own company - giving her complete control over her music.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "For the first time in her career, Amy is beginning to have her head turned by the cash she can make.
