UB40 REPLACE CAMPBELL WITH BROTHER
Former UB40 singer ALI CAMPBELL will be replaced in the band by his brother DUNCAN, the band announced on Wednesday (30Apr08).
Campbell - who fronted the band for 30 years - and keyboard player Michael Virtue quit in March (08) citing "management difficulties".
Duncan claims he asked for his brother’s blessing to join the band, but stressed they were not otherwise on speaking terms. He says, "I told him if he objected strongly, I wouldn’t do it." Robin Campbell - the band’s guitarist - says Ali was "disappointed but didn’t object".
Reggae singer Maxi Priest also bolstering the line-up on tour.
