Teen star JAMIE LYNN SPEARS’ mother has let it slip that the pregnant actress is expecting a baby girl.
The 17-year-old star stunned the world when she confirmed she was expecting her first child in December (08), and now her mum Lynne has been overheard telling friends the baby will be her first granddaughter.
A source tells America’s Life & Style magazine, "I heard Lynne talking about Jamie Lynn’s baby. She said Jamie Lynn and the baby’s dad (Casey Aldridge) were so excited when they found out it’s a girl." The proud mum, who is grandmother to eldest daughter Britney Spears’ two sons - Sean Preston and Jayden James, also gave up Jamie Lynn’s nursery secrets.
The witness adds, "She is going to do the nursery in white, black and yellow." The baby is reportedly due on 29 June (08).

AMERICAN PIE star JASON BIGGS has married actress JENNY MOLLEN at a simple ceremony in Los Angeles.
The couple wed at City Hall on 23 April (08) - without family or friends in attendance.
A source tells American’s Star Magazine, "Jason and Jenny agreed that they did not want to deal with the whole family thing because it would have been too stressful on both of them "They thought it would be a lot more relaxing to do it just the two of them with no pressure. It was a very private wedding and that is exactly how they wanted it." The couple met on the set of upcoming movie My Best Friend’s Girl and have been dating for nine months.
They are currently on honeymoon in Hawaii.

ROBERT DOWNEY JR has unearthed a scam at the New York Stock Exchange after he was invited to ring the famous bell to open the day’s trading - the bell rings itself.
The actor joined the traders on Wall Street on Tuesday (29Apr08), while in Manhattan promoting his new movie Iron Man.
Downey Jr was thrilled with the honour - but distraught to discover his part was only for show.
He says, "Fancy that. Me starting global finance. I’ve come a long way. At 9.29 and 50 seconds, I had to ring the bell. But before I hit the button, the bell started ringing anyway. It’s pre-rigged in case anyone is retarded or hammered - the finance world doesn’t fall apart."

R&B singer NE-YO refuses to be hurt when fans prefer his collaborations with BEYONCE KNOWLES, RIHANNA AND MARY J. BLIGE to his solo hits.
The So Sick hitmaker has collaborated with a variety of high profile stars in between juggling his own recording career.
But Ne-Yo is determined to carry on making his own albums and ignore critics’ calls to stick solely to songwriting.
He says, "One thing I am hearing a lot lately is ‘Ne-Yo is at his best when writing for other people’. Which is strange. I don’t mind it.

Former UB40 singer ALI CAMPBELL will be replaced in the band by his brother DUNCAN, the band announced on Wednesday (30Apr08).
Campbell - who fronted the band for 30 years - and keyboard player Michael Virtue quit in March (08) citing "management difficulties".
Duncan claims he asked for his brother’s blessing to join the band, but stressed they were not otherwise on speaking terms. He says, "I told him if he objected strongly, I wouldn’t do it." Robin Campbell - the band’s guitarist - says Ali was "disappointed but didn’t object".

A Canadian ice hockey star who dated RACHEL HUNTER and ELISHA CUTHBERT has been taken to a New York hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.
New York Rangers player Sean Avery was found unconscious on Wednesday morning (30Apr08) after his team’s National Hockey League playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night (29Apr08).
Avery, who was set to intern at Vogue magazine this summer (08), reportedly suffered a lacerated spleen during the Rangers game, and was told he’d miss the rest of the playoffs.

Legendary actor SIR IAN McKELLEN has confirmed he will revive his famed role as wizard GANDALF in the movie adaptations of J.R.R. TOLKIEN’s novel THE HOBBIT.
McKellen, who has appeared as Gandalf in all three Lord Of The Rings films, had made no secret of his desire to land the part - even though Peter Jackson would not be directing.
Guillermo del Toro has been named as the director of the two movies to be made back-to-back in New Zealand - the first an adaptation of the novel, and the following an original story focusing on the 60 years between the book and the beginning of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
The actor tells Empire magazine, "Yes, It’s true. It’s not a part that you turn down. I loved playing Gandalf." "I spoke to Guillermo in the very room that Peter Jackson offered me the part and he confirmed that I would be reprising the role." He also confirmed that del Toro would be starting the script after he finishes filming his current project, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, in six weeks time, saying, "As to how it’s going to work over two films and what going to happen on screen, well Guillermo has not got down to working out the major details yet - I can tell you it’s going to be amazing though."

The makers of SEX AND THE CITY: THE MOVIE have come under fire from New Yorkers - because they are not premiering the movie in the city.
The film will premiere in London, two weeks before it is unveiled in its spiritual home of New York on 12 May (08).
But the move by producers at New Line Cinema has sparked widespread criticism from those who believe the film should premiere in the city - the home of the award-winning TV series.
However, the company claims its New York premiere will be just as spectacular as the London opening with a huge party at the famous Radio City Music Hall on 27 May (08).
A spokesperson for the film company tells the New York Daily News, "It was simply a question of logistics and scheduling. We’re still planning the big premiere to be in New York.
"Everyone knows New York City is the fifth character. The city is the epicentre of all things Sex and the City."

Actress MICHELLE WILLIAMS is considering fleeing New York with her daughter following the death of her ex-partner HEATH LEDGER.

Super-producer MARK RONSON has been given the go-ahead to date model DAISY LOWE - by her mother PEARL.
The former Powder singer - who is married to Supergrass rocker Danny Goffey told reporters at a charity event in London on Tuesday (29Apr08) that she approves of her daughter’s new man.
She said, "When she told me she was with Mark I said, ‘Wow, he’s cute.’ She just said ‘Mummy’ in a scolding tone." And when asked whether her daughter should be dating a man 13 years her senior, Lowe says, "I’ve got no problem with the age gap… he’s a gentleman and he’s really looking after her.

LATEST: Actress ANNE HATHAWAY’s boyfriend RAFFAELO FOLLIERI has agreed to pay $1.3 million (£650,000) to settle a lawsuit with billionaire RON BURKLE.
Italian businessman Follieri was sued by Burkle last year (07) when the U.S.
supermarket tycoon accused him of squandering the sum to support his lavish lifestyle.
A Delaware judge dismissed Burkle’s lawsuit on Friday (25Apr08) after the pair announced they had already reached an agreement, though Follieri initially denied the charges.
Burkle first teamed up with Follieri on the purchase of distressed Catholic church properties.
Earlier this month (Apr08) Follieri was arrested and charged with trying to pass a bad cheque, reportedly for around $250,000 (£125,000). He is reportedly now working with police to sort what he claims is a misunderstanding.
