DOWNEY JR EXPOSES WALL STREET SCAM
ROBERT DOWNEY JR has unearthed a scam at the New York Stock Exchange after he was invited to ring the famous bell to open the day’s trading - the bell rings itself.
The actor joined the traders on Wall Street on Tuesday (29Apr08), while in Manhattan promoting his new movie Iron Man.
Downey Jr was thrilled with the honour - but distraught to discover his part was only for show.
He says, "Fancy that. Me starting global finance. I’ve come a long way. At 9.29 and 50 seconds, I had to ring the bell. But before I hit the button, the bell started ringing anyway. It’s pre-rigged in case anyone is retarded or hammered - the finance world doesn’t fall apart."
