CAAN QUITS MOVIE AFTER ROW WITH DIRECTOR RUSSELL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:56 pm

Actor JAMES CAAN has quit new comedy NAILED after an on-set bust-up with director DAVID O. RUSSELL.
The star was hired to join the movie’s South Carolina set for just two days to shoot his role as a U.S. politician who chokes to death on a cookie.
But Caan walked off the set on day one, after an argument with Russell. The director reportedly wanted Caan to cough and choke at the same time - but Caan refused, insisting he couldn’t do both.
According to Reuters, Russell offered to shoot the scene both ways - but Caan refused and quit.
The movie’s producer Douglas Wick insists the row was "part of an ongoing creative conversation between the actor and director".
It’s not the first time Russell has clashed with castmembers. George Clooney reportedly punched him on the 1999 set of Three Kings, and Russell was captured on film involved in a screaming row with Lily Tomlin while shooting 2004’s I Heart Huckabees.
