SCHWARZENEGGER STILL MULLING OVER TERMINATOR ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:38 pm

Action man-turned-California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has given TERMINATOR fans the hope that he could return for a fourth film - if it’s shot in his adopted state.
The Austrian-born superstar isn’t involved in Terminator 4, which will star Pathfinder actress Moon Bloodgood and Christian Bale, but he insists he hasn’t ruled out a return to the franchise.
He says, "I’ve never had a dialogue with anyone about it. But if they shoot the movie in California, I would (be a part of it), yes." Charlie’s Angels filmmaker McG will direct the fourth Terminator, in which Bloodgood will play the female lead, a survivor of a nuclear holocaust that featured at the end of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
The fourth installment will be called Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.
The movie is scheduled to begin principal photography next month (May08).
This news scuppers internet reports from last week (ends18Apr08), which suggested Terminator 4 had been terminated over production issues.
That rumour suggested Josh Brolin would take Schwarzenegger’s place as a futuristic cyborg.

McCARTNEY URGES ‘VEGGIES’ TO GIVE UP FISH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:35 pm

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY is calling on fish-eating ‘vegetarians’ to give up all seafood for Earth Day on Tuesday (22May08).
The meat-free former Beatle has issued a statement urging the world to go veggie for the greenest day of the year - and he’s also targeting those who call themselves vegetarians, and then eat fish.
McCartney wants to remind everyone that the commercial fishing industry is killing off fish species which are vital to the environment.
He says, "Unfortunately, many people seem to think that vegetarians eat fish, but this is not so.
"When you consider the overfishing, the marine pollution, and the huge damage to our precious oceans that are caused by commercial fishing, it becomes obvious that a (complete) vegetarian lifestyle would greatly improve our environment and help to save our oceans."

HOUSTON FUELS RAY J ROMANCE REPORTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:32 pm

WHITNEY HOUSTON has fuelled reports of a romance with sex-tape star RAY J by flying all the way to Las Vegas just to hear the R&B singer belt out the American National Anthem.
Houston was spotted among the celebrities at the Joe Calzaghe/Bernard Hopkins boxing match on Saturday night (19Apr08), but she admitted she wasn’t in Vegas for the fight.
She said, "I’m here to hear Ray J sing." The couple has been linked romantically since Houston split from her husband Bobby Brown last year (07), but both have been coy about the rumours.
Recently, Ray J criticised Brown for his plans to bring out a book detailing private moments from his marriage to Houston, and featuring comments about his ex-wife’s new man.
Ray J has confessed he "loves" Houston in recent interviews, but he has refused to confirm the couple is an item.
Meanwhile, Ray J, who sang the National Anthem before Saturday’s big fight, and Houston weren’t the only stars sitting ringside - Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, Tom Jones, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Jay-Z were at the light heavyweight clash.

MADONNA DEFENDS ADOPTING FROM ABROAD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:32 pm

MADONNA has defended her decision to adopt a child from outside the U.S. or Britain - insisting her Malawian son DAVID BANDA faced death if she hadn’t taken custody of him.
The singer has been accused of encouraging people to travel abroad to adopt, at the expense of needy children closer to home.
British child psychologist Professor Ken Browne recently made headlines by dubbing the phenomenon the "Madonna effect".
But Madonna has dismissed Professor Brown as "grumpy" and insists orphans in AIDS-stricken Africa are more needy.
She tells New York magazine, "That’s a grumpy person. You know, there isn’t an AIDS crisis in England. Yes, there are children that need to be adopted here (in America) and in the U.K., but no one’s going to die in an orphanage in America."

UGLY BETTY GETS A NATURAL MAKEOVER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:29 pm

UGLY BETTY star AMERICA FERRERA has warned the show’s producers they might need to pad their star - because she has to lose weight to play a runner in a new film.
The sexy Latina, who plays homely Betty on the hit show, admits her body has already started transforming, thanks to a much needed break she took during the winter writer’s strike.
The actress, who turned 24 on Friday (18Apr08), admits a little rest and relaxation over Christmas (07) - and the occasional trip to the gym - gave her a hot new look.
She says, "My face looks different. My body looks different. I definitely feel like I’m growing up." But she insists her new film, in which she plays an avid runner, won’t effect her role in Ugly Betty.
She adds, "It’s a role that calls for a completely different physique. She’s a runner in a very different emotional space, which calls for me to make physical changes.
"(The producers of Ugly Betty) have been completely respectful of what I want to do with my body."

SPIELBERG’S FEAR-TACTICS SILENCE LABOEUF

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:29 pm

INDIANA JONES’ SHIA LABOEUF was terrified of leaking details about the forthcoming blockbuster after director STEVEN SPIELBERG sued a big-mouthed extra.
LaBoeuf realised how serious Spielberg was about keeping production secrets, when he was first sent a script that was barcoded and watermarked to prevent duplication. He was also given a hotline number to call if he lost it.
The actor, who stars alongside Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, also recalled the fate of 24-year-old Tyler Nelson, who was taken to court by Spielberg and his part reportedly cut from the film, after he leaked plot details in a newspaper interview.
LaBeouf says, "The joke I had was that Steven (Spielberg) had snipers following me. And if I ever slipped and gave up any tidbits, that was the end."

REPLACEMENTS CONSIDERED COACHELLA REUNION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:29 pm

Cult rockers the REPLACEMENTS came close to reuniting at the upcoming Coachella Festival in California, after receiving a lucrative offer from organisers to perform.
The group, led by Paul Westerberg, split 17 years ago but seriously considered an offer from Coachella to join the three day weekend’s line-up.
Band member Tommy Stinson tells Billboard.com, "We actually talked about it again this year, and I think there was a consensus that, you know, maybe it wasn’t the right time.
"Paul and I were kind of in cahoots talking to them (and) talking to (his manager) Darren (Hill). There were some things thrown out, and there were other festivals that wanted it too, if we were going to do it." The plan was for Westerberg and Stinson to reteam with celebrated session drummer Josh Freese, who would replace retired Chris Mars, and an unnamed lead guitarist, who would replace Stinson’s half-brother Bob, who died in 1995.
But Stinson adds, "At the last minute, it just didn’t seem like the right thing to do, so we didn’t do it. But I think Paul and I have something to offer each other still." Coachella has become famous for reunions in recent years - the Pixies, Jesus & Mary Chain, Rage Against The Machine and Crowded House all staged shows at the desert festival. This year, the reunited The Verve and Swervedriver will perform at the event, which begins on Friday (25Apr08).

PINK GOES ORGANIC

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:26 pm

Pop star PINK has gone green after falling in love with cooking and gardening in Tuscany, Italy.
The Trouble singer took a cooking course in Italy in 2006, but it was a trip through her chef teacher’s garden that really turned her on to living off the land.
She says, "I’ve put in several raised beds of vegetables: swiss chard, kale, onions, tomatoes, grapes, broccoli, carrots. I’m even going to make my own wine.
"I love to be dirty, to get in the mud. And I can eat fresh, organic dishes every day." And the pop star is always careful with what she eats - her diet consists of greens, fish and the occasional cheese treat: "I allow myself one piece of cheese with one cracker a day."

CBGB FANS PROTEST OUTSIDE DEFUNCT ROCK VENUE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:26 pm

Angry music fans protested outside New York’s new John Varvatos store last week (17Apr08) - because the clothing store had taken the place of punk mecca CBGB.
The East Village live music venue closed its doors in 2006 after CBGB boss Hilly Kristal lost a lease battle with his landlords.
The space is now shared by rock art gallery Morrison Hotel and designer Varvatos’ new clothing store.
But die-hard devotees of the club - famous for launching the careers of bands like the Ramones and Blondie - aren’t happy with the choice of new tenants and stormed the velvet ropes at Varvatos’ VH1 Save the Music Benefit last week.
They booed arriving guests like Gina Gershon and Bob Dylan’s son Jakob.
A protest group spokesperson said of their efforts, "New York City should not be a town just for the wealthy. But who can afford their clothes?" Meanwhile, Varvatos insisted, "I respect people’s freedom of speech and expression." The designer’s launch event was a charity success - rockers Slash and Joan Jett performed at the party, helping to raise $30,000 (£15,000) for music education programs in America’s public schools.

GUNS N’ROSES UPSET ABOUT FINCK’S DEPARTURE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:26 pm

GUNS N’ ROSES were caught "off-guard" by guitarist ROBIN FINCK’s recent departure, according to a post on the band’s website.
Finck quit to rejoin Nine Inch Nails for a summer (08) tour, and a new post suggests the split wasn’t as friendly as it appeared to be.
A statement from Axl Rose and his band reads, "Robin’s plans caught everyone in Guns, as well as our fans, a bit off-guard.
"Neither we nor management, etc., know any more in this regard and we prefer not to speculate or offer opinions at this time.
"When we begin to put tour plans together, we’ll see where things are. Until then, Robin’s touring with NIN and we’re working with management on our game plans." Meanwhile, Guns N’ Roses are being linked to a major show in Brazil later this year (08), as the band prepares to release its much-delayed Chinese Democracy album.

KUTCHER NEVER PLANNED TO MARRY MOORE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:11 pm

ASHTON KUTCHER would never have given up his womanising lifestyle and settled down with DEMI MOORE, if he had thought twice about marrying at the peak of his sexual prowess.
The couple stunned Hollywood in 2005 when they tied the knot when he was 27 and she 42. Three years on, they are closer than ever - but Kutcher admits it was unlike him to make a commitment at a time when he was inundated with dating opportunities.
And the actor confesses he would have walked away had he not been head over heels in love with Moore.
Kutcher tells Details magazine, "I’ve literally just been voted the world’s most eligible bachelor and I’m like, ‘I’m going off the market. I’ve found the one.’ "If I had thought about it I would have been like, ‘Nah, nah.’ But what can you do? When you’re in that deep, you can’t think."

STONE’S LEGAL BATTLE TO LEAVE RECORD LABEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 9:08 pm

Pop star JOSS STONE is to launch a legal battle in a bid to leave her record label EMI.
The singer has hired a legal team to help free her of her current three-album deal with the troubled music company.
The British-based label was bought out last year (07) by capital group Terra Firma and has since seen the exit of a host of high-profile artists including Radiohead, the Rolling Stones and Sir Paul McCartney.
Stone is the latest star to voice displeasure at the stricken firm, insisting her decision to leave is based on EMI’s insistence on maintaining creative control over her future projects.
She says, "I’m not happy at all with EMI. I’ve spoken to my lawyers and am seeing what my options are. The industry is in a state and EMI are in a state, so I would rather work on other things."
