50 CENT has hit back at R&B singer ALICIA KEYS for criticising gangsta rap insisting her comments were "not really bright".
Keys courted controversy by voicing her opinions on the hip-hop subgenre, telling U.S. magazine Blender, "Gangsta rap was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other." And her comments have enraged rapper 50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson whose music is said to fall into the gangsta rap category.
He tells TMZ.com, "I don’t like people who don’t like me … that statement changes my perception of Alicia Keys totally. It’s just not really a bright comment …" Keys has since retracted the statement, insisting her words were taken out of context.

Latin pop star ENRIQUE IGLESIAS regrets once making a joke about having a "small penis" as it blighted his love life.
The 32-year-old made the remark at the beginning of his music career, before he started dating tennis star Anna Kournikova six years ago - and insists the rumours have followed him around ever since.
Iglesias is convinced it may have put off some prospective lovers but insists his girlfriends have always found out the myth is not true.
He says, "I said I had a small penis as a joke. And they took it literally when it is not the truth.
"So when people find out it’s not the case they are pleasantly surprised."

JUDE LAW’s young son RAFFERTY has landed his first major film role - starring alongside his father in sci-fi thriller REPOSSESSION MAMBO.
The 11-year-old will play a younger version of Law’s character in the movie, which is due for release next year (09).
Law’s ex-wife and Rafferty’s mother, Sadie Frost, is convinced the youngster is perfect for the role as he has inherited his dad’s good looks.

DAVID BECKHAM’s soccer team have defended the sports star after he came under fire from fans for his ‘movie star’ lifestyle.
The L.A. Galaxy player has been accused of spending too much time partying with friends including Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria Parker and Tom Cruise - to the detriment of his game.
Beckham joined the California-based squad in 2007 but despite paying a multi-million dollar sum for the player, the team have failed to win any major trophies.
And supporters have been quick to blame the soccer star’s celebrity lifestyle.
Fan leader Rick Cordillo says, "He’s spending more time on red carpets than he is on green grass - and what kind of example is he setting younger players with the team struggling the way it is?" Hollywood actress SANDRA BULLOCK and her husband JESSE JAMES escaped serious injury after their car was hit by a suspected drunk driver on Friday night (18Apr08).
The couple was being driven home in a private vehicle in Gloucester, Massachusetts, at around 9.50pm when they were struck head on by a grey Subaru station wagon.
The Subaru is reported to have switched lanes and smashed into the front of Bullock’s car. No injuries were reported.
Police attending the scene identified the Subaru driver as Lucille P.
Gatchell, from Gloucester, who was arrested after failing a sobriety test. Gatchell allegedly had two and a half times the legal alcohol limit in her system. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to stay in marked lanes.
The 64-year-old was released and is expected to face arraignment on Tuesday (22Apr08).
Gloucester Police Lieutenant Gerry Cook insists Bullock and her husband were lucky to escape unscathed.
He tells People.com, "They were shaken up, needless to say. But they were fine - he was hugging her. Jess and Sandra were hugging. They said they were fine, they didn’t need medical attention. There were quite a few people snapping pictures of them.
"It’s unfortunate. But it shows you that no one is immune from drunk drivers, no matter how famous you are." Bullock is in the area filming romantic comedy The Proposal with Ryan Reynolds.

HUGH JACKMAN has branded new mother CATE BLANCHETT a "superwoman" for committing herself to a two-day Australian conference - just six days after giving birth to her third child.

Heroes actress HAYDEN PANETTIERE has spoken out in defence of PARIS HILTON’s airheaded party girl image - insisting the heiress is actually a "genius".
Panettiere, 19, who has been a close friend of Hilton’s for several years, says the 27-year-old socialite is actually more level-headed than the dumb "character" she projects to the media.

Chinese action star JACKIE CHAN has criticised protestors demonstrating against the forthcoming Beijing Olympic Games - insisting they just "want to show off on TV".
The Olympic torch relay - which sees the famous flame pass through a variety of different countries prior to the games’ opening ceremony - has been dogged by protests from pro-Tibet campaigners, angry at China’s human rights record in the region.
Violence broke out on both the London and Paris legs of the journey - with the relay nearly called off over safety fears.
And Chan - who is an official ambassador for this summer’s (08) Olympic Games - is furious about the disruption.
He says, "They (the protestors) just want to show off on TV.
"They know if they can get the torch they can get on the TV for the world news."

Boxers JOE CALZAGHE and BERNARD HOPKINS brought the stars out in Las Vegas on Saturday night (19Apr08) as BRUCE WILLIS, SYLVESTER STALLONE and CATHERINE ZETA-JONES claimed ringside seats at their light heavyweight clash.
The V.I.P. section of the crowd at the Planet Hollywood-sponsored fight night was a who’s who of celebrities with Willis, Stallone and Zeta-Jones seated alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Simon Cowell, Tom Jones, Jay-Z and Jim Belushi.
Crooner Jones also served as one of the night’s pre-fight performers, singing the Welsh national anthem for Calzaghe; R&B singer Ray J then belted out an off-key rendition of the U.S. national anthem.
And just like Jones, wearing a purple suit and a yellow daffodil in his lapel, won the pre-bout singing contest, Welshman Calzaghe defeated American Hopkins in a split decision after 12 action-packed rounds of boxing to claim the light heavyweight crown.
The celebrity guests were all on their best behaviour, apart from Rocky star Stallone, who constantly yelled at the boxers and, at one point, rose from his seat to protest a low-blow from Calzaghe that landed in Hopkins’ groin, prompting a halt to fight as the winded American attempted to regain his composure.

British actress MINNIE DRIVER has vowed to continue working on hit TV show THE RICHES even though she is expecting her first child this summer (08).
The 38-year-old insists she would "absolutely" love to keep her role in the programme, which tells the tale of two con-artists travelling across the U.S.
The show originally aired in 2007 but returned for a second season earlier this year (08).
And Driver is convinced her pregnancy won’t affect the commissioning of a new series, confirming that she would love to reprise her role for a third time.
She tells People.com, "Yeah, my God, it’s just the best job ever for all of us, I think. I mean, I really think I can say that for all of us because everyone keeps saying it. Everybody loves it."

BOB GELDOF’s daughter PEACHES has been caught up in a shoplifting row - after she was accused of taking home an expensive dress without paying for it.
Staff at the Victim fashion store in London, noted that an expensive gown had gone missing after the 18-year-old was browsing on Thursday (17Apr08) evening.
Bosses called Geldof’s management and the teenager returned to the shop two hours later to apologise.
Store designer Mei-hui Liu says, "She said sorry and that it was a misunderstanding, but the dress is ruined. She said the dress had got caught up in her scarf and because it was the same colour she didn’t realise she had it in her arms. (Her) assistant arrived on Friday afternoon with the money for the dress. The dress is worth £500 but we charged £250." With the store’s manager Nazinna Douglas adding, "She can get everything she wants for free. To her taking a dress means nothing but it’s not something we take lightly. This is our livelihood. It’s just not fair." But a spokesman for Geldof insists that the aspiring DJ didn’t do anything wrong, saying, "The claim is totally incorrect. Peaches has a receipt for the supposed stolen dress. "It was an honest mistake at the time and Peaches went back to the store having been told the dress was missing. "The payment was made (on Friday) because the store’s credit card machine was not working (on Thursday). She most definitely has not been shoplifting and nothing has been reported to the police." Geldof was previously accused of shoplifting in October 2006, when she allegedly took a coat from trendy London store Urban Outfitters. She was allowed to leave after returning to pay for the item.

Rapper KRS-ONE has been forced to cancel a string of gigs after he was injured at a concert in Connecticut where a fan threw a bottle at the stage.
The hip-hop artist - real name Lawrence Krisna Parker - was performing at a nightclub in New Haven, Connecticut, earlier this week (beg14Apr08) when an audience member lobbed a bottle at him, striking the rapper in the face.
Parker continued with the final 15 minutes of the concert but was taken to Yale-New Haven hospital in an ambulance as soon as the gig was over. The 42-year-old was treated for a fractured right hand and dehydration.
Parker has now cancelled six concerts on doctor’s orders, including shows in New York and Chicago. The star asked for the offender not to be prosecuted, according to Allhiphop.com.

EVANESCENCE singer AMY LEE has denied she is to record a collaboration with METALLICA for the heavy metal band’s forthcoming album.
Lee was rumoured to have teamed up with the legendary rockers to rework their classic track Fade To Black, as well as providing vocals for their new LP which is due out later this year (08).
But the star has dismissed the reports with a posting on her website, according to Blabbermouth.net.
She says, "I am NOT going to be collaborating with METALLICA. I have absolutely no idea where this rumour came from, but it is not true."
