MADONNA has asked a Malawian court to delay an adoption hearing for a second time - because she is busy promoting new LP HARD CANDY in the U.S.
The singer and her director husband Guy Ritchie are due to attend a hearing in Malawi on 22 April (08), when a judge at the country’s High Court is expected to formally approve the couple’s adoption of two-year-old David Banda.
But the 49-year-old’s lawyer has reportedly requested the hearing go ahead on 15 May (08), because Madonna is working in America.
It is the second time the star has asked for a postponement. She was due in the south African nation earlier this month (Apr08), but was granted a delayed hearing.
Court officials refused to confirm the application.
A spokesman says, "Adoption is a confidential matter and we separate adoption files from the regular case files."

CHRISTINA RICCI is still bitter about the way her 2007 film BLACK SNAKE MOAN was marketed - because she felt movie posters and trailers exploited women.
The actress played a troubled wildgirl who is taken in by Samuel L. Jackson’s eccentric bluesman character and chained to his radiator in an attempt to rid her of her demons.
She admits she loved making the film and had high hopes for it until she saw the marketing campaign, which included a poster featuring a scantily-clad Ricci at the end of a chain held by Jackson’s character, Lazarus.
She fumes, "The way that movie was marketed was probably one of the most disappointing and upsetting things that’s ever happened to me in my career.
"I have no interest in exploiting women any further than they’ve already been exploited.
"The whole reason I made that movie was to say, ‘Oh yeah, that girl you called a slut probably went through this, so you might not want to use her and throw her away or judge her.
"All they (marketing bosses) cared about was college-age boys going to see it."

HEROES actress HAYDEN PANETTIERE loves Hollywood bad boys - and confesses to a crush on COLIN FARRELL.

British actor EWAN McGREGOR is terrified about his return to the London stage later this year (08), because his theatre career is littered with catastrophes.
The star has appeared in a number of shows on London’s West End, including the musical Guys and Dolls, but he is scarred by forgotten lines and onstage mistakes.
He says, "It can so easily go wrong and then there’s nothing you can do about it when it does.
"I think anyone that’s worked on stage will have horrible stories… When you’re getting ready to rehearse a play, all your actor friends will tell you stories, horrible stories, nightmare stories, about peoples pants falling off, forgetting lines." McGregor recalls, "I forgot a song in Guys and Dolls and had to make stuff up… because the band keeps playing. They can’t stop. I was making s**t up. It was awful." The star is preparing to take to the stage again this autumn (08) in a production of Shakespeare’s Othello at London’s Donmar Warehouse - and things have already started to go wrong.
He explains, "Someone had lost (forgot) their lines and… (there was a) horrible long pause. And then, of course, three minutes later during the next scene… I realised it had happened to me."

LAW & ORDER: SVU star ADAM BEACH is leaving the hit TV show.
The actor - who plays Detective Chester Lake in the show - decided not to exercise the second-year option on his contract.

HAYDEN PANETTIERE was such a successful child actor, she was "tortured" by school bullies.
The Heroes actress - who began her career aged eight months - admits she was targetted by bullies over jealousy.
But the 18-year-old is pleased she was the victim.
She says, "At school I was teased a lot because I was an actor. They used to be awful. I went through a big period where I was tortured at school.

JURASSIC PARK and KING KONG are to be brought to the Middle East as part of the world’s largest theme park playground.
Entertainment giant Universal Studios has signed a deal to create a $2.2 billion (£1.1 billion) attraction based on some of Hollywood’s most successful film franchises, reports the PageSix website.
Wonder Woman and Shrek will also feature in the park situated in the Persian Gulf.
Universal is reportedly in talks with other film studios in a bid to seek permission to use their films in the park.
The park is scheduled to open in 2010.

THE NEW PORNOGRAPHERS have lost one of their lead singers from their current tour after vocalist NEKO CASE suffered a bad fall and fractured her ankle.
The Canadian group and their sometime-contributor Case embarked on their current US tour earlier this month (15Apr08) but after an injury, the singer has been forced to pull out of the remaining dates.
In a statement, the band says, "Neko had a really bad fall in Washington, D.C., which resulted in a fractured ankle (which also did some damage to her ligaments), and will be leaving the tour today.
"She was really trying to be a trooper and stayed on as long as she could…
but it has gotten to the point where she must return home to have her ankle taken care of and to recuperate.
"She’s very upset about having to leave. It’s been super fun having her on tour and around again, but she just had to go to avoid doing some real permanent damage to herself.
"We hope that you understand, Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago, Madison, and Cleveland." The band, without Case, will wrap up their current tour with tourmates Okkervil River in August (08).

Teen country star TAYLOR SWIFT is feeling "overwhelmed" after she was asked to grace the front cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
The 18-year-old claims her appearance on this month’s (Apr08) Best of Rock issue is better than winning two Country Music Television awards earlier this week (14Apr08).

R&B star NE-YO is promising fans new sounds on his upcoming album YEAR OF THE GENTLEMAN - because he has become "bored" of urban music.
The So Sick singer - real name Shaffer Smith - is preparing to drop his third album in June (08).
But the star claims his new LP is different from his previous work - because he is no longer interested in urban music.

LATEST: Eighties pop star DEBORAH GIBSON called the police on an alleged stalker because a past fan scare taught her you can never be too careful when it comes to obsessed devotees.
The Shake Your Love singer has filed a restraining order against Spaniard Bassas Jorge Puigdollers after he showed up at her house on Sunday (13Apr08).
Gibson reveals the scary incident was the latest in a long line of encounters with Puigdollers, who she alleges has continually shown up at her home and hotel rooms when she’s on the road.
Speaking out about Sunday’s incident, the singer tells People.com Puigdollers knocked on her door and then left a note for Gibson when she refused to answer.
She says, "That was crossing a line, so that was really scary. I am a single female, so I reacted like anyone would and called 911." Police detained Puigdollers, but did not charge him with any crime.
The Spaniard’s actions have brought a host of bad memories back for Gibson she was named on murderer Robert Bardo’s fan list.
Stalker Bardo shot actress Rebecca Schaeffer at her Los Angeles home, when she opened the door to him in 1989.
Gibson recalls, "I was very young at the time, but it was scary, because I realised that whether you live or die can come down to security. This woman (Schaeffer) answered her door and was killed. From then, I’ve always had good security."

MARIAH CAREY fans booed the pop superstar at an autograph signing on Thursday (17Apr08) when she showed up two hours late and left before signing albums for devotees who had waited eight hours to meet her.
The singer, who was promoting her new album E=MC2 at Universal City Walk in Los Angeles, left tired fans fuming when she stopped signing and "went home".
Carey fans, who waited in line to meet their heroine, have flooded the Internet to slam the diva, claiming she showed up two hours late and didn’t stay around long enough to meet and greet the 1,000 devotees who were promised time with the singer.
One angry fan says, "The first 1,000 people who bought her album from (record store) FYE got a guaranteed meet and greet (wristband), but she left with more than a hundred people still waiting.
"Some fans booed and others even trashed their copies of Mariah’s new CD and yelled profanities at her."

LINDSAY LOHAN has begged her father to shut up - because she’s sick of him talking about her.
The Mean Girls star has gone public with her thoughts about her loose-lipped dad, Michael, by asking him to stop talking to the media on her behalf on a radio show.
The actress appeared on The Billy Bush Show on Friday (18Apr08) and said, "I just wish that he wouldn’t go and talk to the media.
"It’s not attractive to me, it really upsets me and I wish he would stop. "I love my father. I just don’t know why he’s doing what he’s doing. It’s a weird situation, very odd." Michael Lohan, 47, is often quoted talking about his daughter and passing comments about the decisions she makes in her personal and professional life.
On Thursday (17Apr08), Lohan’s father, a born-again Christian, blasted his daughter’s management team for stopping her from joining him on a missionary trip to India.
He previously told a U.S. tabloid the star was eager to join him on a tour of the country with New York’s Times Square Church Missions.

INDIANA JONES HARRISON FORD has hit out at critics who claim he’s too old to play the swashbuckling archaeologist.
The 65-year-old, who is playing the adventurer for a fourth time in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, is confident the film will be a hit - even with a senior citizen in the lead role.
The actor even insisted the film embraced the fact he and his character have aged 19 years since the last instalment - 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
