MADDEN: ‘HARLOW IS MY ONE TRUE LOVE’
GOOD CHARLOTTE rocker JOEL MADDEN has hailed his three-month-old daughter HARLOW WINTER as his "one and only true love" - without his girlfriend NICOLE RICHIE even meriting a mention.
The singer made the confession to the 1,700-strong crowd at his New York concert at Queen’s College on Wednesday (16Apr08), as Richie, his partner of 15 months, looked on from the side of the stage.
After performing hit Hold On (If You Feel Like Letting Go), he told the audience, "You know, no matter how many beautiful girls there are in this audience, I must confess that three months ago, I had a little baby girl, and she’s my one and only true love." Madden also revealed Harlow was a big fan of British rockers The Cure - and dedicated their 1989 track Love Song to the tot.
He said, "Before I left on tour… I used to sing songs to (Harlow) every day. And there’s a band she really likes, it’s called The Cure. Big Cure fan.
So I’ve learned all their songs and we’ll sing one tonight. This is called ‘Love Song.’"
