British actor ORLANDO BLOOM has been tipped to star in the remake of classic French crime thriller LE CERCLE ROUGE.
The original 1970 film is set to be remade by Hong Kong director Johnnie To.
and will take on the English translation of its title, Red Circle.
Chow Yun Fat and Liam Neeson are also reported to be in negotiations for roles in the picture, which is due to begin filming in June (08).

BRITNEY SPEARS’ romance with photographer ADNAN GHALIB is still on.
Contrary to reports the pop star and Brit Ghalib split in March (08), Spears is still attracted to the snapper - and keeps in touch with him.
Comedienne Kathy Griffin recently filmed a segment with Ghalib for her show My Life on the D-List, and she insists the ‘former’ couple is still a hot item.
Speaking to In Touch magazine, Griffin says, "As far as I know, Britney is still attracted to him." And the funnywoman reveals she knows the pair is still close by "the astonishing number of calls Adnan took from a ‘private caller’ whose name rhymes with Prlitney Splears," during the afternoon she spent with Ghalib last week (ends11Apr08).
Since the reported split, Ghalib has appeared on TV talking fondly about Spears and a Los Angeles model has exposed him as a love cheat for dating her at the same time as Spears.
The couple has not been spotted publicly together since Spears’ father, Jamie, took control of her personal affairs at the beginning of February (08).

GWYNETH PALTROW and ROBERT DOWNEY JR. have an unlikely co-star in their latest film IRON MAN - a British tourist who wandered onto the set.
Carl Kelly, a salesman from England, came across the movie shoot at Caesar’s Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas last year (07), and convinced security guards he was an extra in the film.
And Kelly managed to land a prime spot, sitting at a blackjack table behind Paltrow. He even scored screen time with Paltrow when director Jon Favreau asked him to interact with the actress.
He says, "When a guard asked for my pass, I pointed to an empty chair and said I’d left it there. Unbelievably, he believed me."

TORI AMOS’ song lyrics have been turned into comic book art for a new 480-page anthology.
The singer/songwriter’s tunes have been adapted by artists at Image Comics for new book Comic Book Tattoo.
Amos admits she’s stunned by what the graphic artists have done with the characters and themes in her songs.
She says, "I have been surprised, excited and pleasantly shocked by these comics that are extensions of the songs that I have loved.
"I welcome these amazing stories of pictures and words because they are uncompromisingly inspiring.
"It shows you thought is a powerful formidable essence and can have a breathtaking domino effect." The new comic art book, which hits stores in July (08), features an introduction by Sandman creator Neil Gaiman.

Newlyweds BEYONCE KNOWLES and JAY-Z’s wedding celebrations won’t be stopping anytime soon - if the couple’s appearance in Hollywood on Wednesday (16Apr08) is anything to go by.
The couple partied with 40 friends and family at a private dinner held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel’s Tropicana Bar after Jay-Z’s sold-out show at the Hollywood Bowl.
Beyonce wed Jay-Z on 4 April (08), but have yet to confirm they are man and wife - even refusing to wear wedding rings when out in public.
Knowles turned up to Wednesday’s private dinner with former Destiny’s Child bandmate Michelle Williams, who was reportedly a bridesmaid at her New York wedding. Other guests included Knowles’ mother Tina, sister Solange, Jay-Z’s touring partner Mary J. Blige and new mum Christina Aguilera.
A hotel source claims Jay-Z sat by Knowles’ side all night and the couple looked "very happy," cuddling each other and openly showing their affection for each other.
Lindsay Lohan’s DJ pal Samantha Ronson provided the music for the private party.

British actress MINNIE DRIVER is determined not to find out the sex of her unborn baby - so she has an extra incentive during delivery.
The Good Will Hunting star believes not knowing whether her child is a boy or a girl will give her an added interest in the labour.
She says, "I’m old school, I don’t wanna know. I think you need some incentive through labour, I think you need as much encouragement as possible." But she’s sure of one thing - she’s determined to have a natural birth.
Driver, who is five months pregnant with her first child, says,"I’d really like to avoid (a caesarian). I don’t want that. I’m squeamish and I just wanna do it like women have been doing it for thousands of, millions of years."

HEROES star MILO VENTIMIGLIA learned a sickness tip from America’s top fighter pilots during a recent "incentive flight" in an F-16 jet - eat bananas before take off.
The actor was stunned when he was invited to join the U.S. Air Force Reserves for a day - because it allowed him to fulfil a childhood dream.
And Ventimiglia made such an impact on the pilots who took him up for a thrill ride, they gave him the best vomit advice - explaining all first-timers throw up.
He explains, "You’ve gotta have something in your stomach before you go up and they told me, ‘Eat bananas and peanut butter,’ and you’re like, ‘Why bananas?’ "They said, ‘Because they taste about the same coming up as they do going down.’ (It’s) very true." Super Bowl-winning quarterback ELI MANNING will wed his fiancee ABBY McGREW in Mexico this weekend (19-20Apr08), according to U.S. reports.
The sports star is reportedly planning a private ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

POISON star BRETT MICHAELS is determined to make his relationship with an actress he picked on a U.S. dating show work - after his last reality romance was outed as a scam.
The rocker picked 38-year-old Ambre Lake as the winner of the second series of his dating show Rock of Love.
Michaels opted for Lake over 25-year-old wannabe singer Daisy DeLaHoya on the show’s finale, and now insists there will be no more Rock of Loves because the match-up is "for real".
The first season of the show was outed as a scam, when it was discovered winner Jes Ricklett was already in a relationship while competing for the rock star’s love on the series.
This time he says, "We definitely have chemistry. She’s an amazing kisser.

MAURA TIERNEY is begging E.R. bosses to kill off her character before the longrunning show comes to an end, but they are refusing to let DR ABBY LOCKHART die.
Network bosses recently announced E.R. will end after one more season, and Tierney is keen to go out with a bang.
But she claims network chiefs want her character to live on, despite her pleas.
She tells AOL Movies, "I want them to kill me. And they won’t. They refused to kill Abby." Meanwhile, Tierney applauds the decision to call time on the hugely successful medical drama, adding, "I think it’s a great thing for the cast and the crew. And I think it is a great thing that (creator) John Wells and all the rest of the writers know that’s it’s ending and have time to prepare for it and finish it in a way that’s thoughtful.":

Tragic CROCODILE HUNTER star STEVE IRWIN saved his father BOB from committing suicide after his wife of 40 years died in a car crash.
Following the death of Lyn in 2000, Bob, 68, admits he considered taking his own life - until his son Steve talked him round.
He tells the National Enquirer, "I couldn’t see a future without Lyn. Steve said, `I know what you’re going to do,’ before adding, ‘Well, if you’re going to do it, then I’m coming.’ "I just couldn’t let him do it, and he knew it." Steve Irwin died in September 2006 after he was fatally pierced in the chest by a stingray while filming a documentary at the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, Australia.
Since his death Bob has battled with Steve’s widow Terri over the future of the Australian zoo the family ran. Just this month (Apr08) he was handed a pay off of $942,520 (£471,260) to sever his ties to the zoo.

Organisers of Wyoming’s Cheyenne Frontier Days festival are suing animal rights group Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) after activists pressured headliners MATCHBOX TWENTY to pull out of an appearance.
Festival bosses claim the organisation’s officials used "false and misleading information" to persuade the rockers to pull out of the festival.
The Bent hitmakers had been scheduled to appear at the Cheyenne Frontier Days festival, billed as the world’s largest outdoor rodeo, on 18 July (08), but scrapped the show after seeing video footage of alleged animal abuse from last year’s rodeo/concert.
Frontier Days organisers estimate Matchbox Twenty’s cancellation has cost them $100,000 (GBP50,000). They are also suing SHARK bosses for persuading Carrie Underwood to abandon a 2006 Frontier Days performance under similar circumstances, according to RollingStone.com.

LEONA LEWIS has scored a rare double in the U.S. by claiming the top spot on both the album and singles charts.
The Brit’s Bleeding Love was ousted from the number one position by Mariah Carey’s record-breaking track Touch My Body - but now Lewis has toppled Carey, just a day after becoming the first British female solo artist to debut at number one on the Billboard album chart.
By scoring the double, Lewis becomes the first Brit to top both charts in the same week since Phil Collins in 1990.
The Carey/Lewis chart war is expected to continue next week (beg21Apr08), when the U.S. diva is expected to take over at the top of the album chart with her new release E=MC2.
Challenging Lewis for the top spot on the singles chart is rapper Lil Wayne, whose Lollipop hit jumps up from four to two; and No Air, Jordin Sparks’ duet with Chris Brown, which rises four spots to three.
Former chart-toppers from Usher and Carey complete the top five.
The Hot 100’s top debut is Daughtry’s What About Now, which the group performed on last week’s (ends11Apr08) American Idol charity show Idol Gives Back. The song enters the new countdown at 18.

Hip-hop star PHARRELL WILLIAMS was forced to apologise for his profanity-laden performance on the first night of KANYE WEST’s Glow In The Dark tour on Wednesday (16Apr08) - after spotting a young child in the front row.
Williams’ band N.E.R.D. was the second act on the bill at Seattle, Washington’s Key Arena.
The group took to the stage with a high-energy show that featured Williams hurling out expletives during songs like Rock Star and She Wants To Move.

Socialite PARIS HILTON has defended her small breasts - insisting she likes them just the way they are.
The 27-year-old has vowed never to undergo breast enlargement surgery as she doesn’t like the appearance of a larger bust.

Drivers of London’s Underground trains are set to picket the premiere of new comedy THREE AND OUT - because the film trivialises suicide.
The movie follows the story of a train driver, played by Mackenzie Crook, who discovers he faces being fired if he has three fatal accidents within a one-month period - although he will receive a huge financial pay-out to compensate him for the job loss.
But the U.K.’s Aslef union has urged its members to distribute leaflets at the London premiere on Monday (21Apr08) to make it known that they are not happy with suicide being made fun of.
The leaflets read, "As you are munching your popcorn, please take a moment to think about all those people for whom railway deaths are a tragedy, not a comedy."

Actress/singer HILARY DUFF has denied reports she and LINDSAY LOHAN don’t get on - insisting any feuds between the pair were confined to their teens.
Duff was accused of stealing Lohan’s then boyfriend, pop star Aaron Carter, in 2002, but the 20-year-old insists they have both moved on since then.
She says, "Supposedly, I stole Lindsay Lohan’s boyfriend (Carter). We were, like, 13! And I’ve never stolen anyone’s boyfriend! I don’t know how you do that! "She was talking about it and I wasn’t. It made us both look bad and put up a big weirdness. Really, she was just a girl my age. We are fine now, by the way."
