SEX AND THE CITY STARS TURN OUT TO HONOUR NIXON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:02 pm

Actress SARAH JESSICA PARKER reunited with her SEX AND THE CITY co-stars KIM CATTRALL and KRISTIN DAVIS on Monday (07Apr08), to pay tribute to their fellow castmate CYNTHIA NIXON.
The four screen stars gathered in New York City for the Point Foundation benefit, where openly-gay Nixon was honoured with a Point Courage Award. The Point Foundation offers scholarships to gay, lesbian and transgender youths.
Accepting the prize a delighted Nixon said: "When you’re a young gay person, you yearn for nothing so much as the presence of other gay people. Most especially, an older generation of gay people who can encourage and inspire you." But she also expressed her regret about not ‘coming out’ and living her life openly as a lesbian when she was a teenager: "That is part of what I look back on now as… my straight period." The celebration was also an excuse for the four women to catch up with one another, because even though they’d recently finished filming for the forthcoming Sex and the City: The Movie, they rarely find themselves in the same place at the same time.
Parker tells People.com, "On the set (of the movie), we eventually got used to seeing each other, so we didn’t scream as much." Cattrall adds, "It (reuniting) is like champagne. It’s intoxicating. My heart flutters a little bit."
