RICHARDS: ‘ACTING IS NOT FOR ME’
Rocker KEITH RICHARDS has warned Hollywood bosses he’s not interested in pursuing a movie career, following his appearance in the final PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN film.
The Rolling Stones legend played Captain Teague in last year’s (07) Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End after his "mate" Johnny Depp begged him to join the cast.
However, Richards insists his decision to star in the film was inspired by his friendship with Depp - who stars as Captain Jack Sparrow in the swashbuckling trilogy - rather than his own acting ambitions.
He says, "Now I’m just sitting and waiting to see if Johnny Depp’s got a bit-part for me in the next one! No, I don’t pursue it.
"I don’t go around saying, ‘Hey, I need a job as an actor.’ If somebody says, ‘You’re the only guy that can play this,’ I say, ‘OK.’ But I only did Pirates Of The Caribbean because Johnny Depp is a mate."
