PRINCE PHILIP RUSHED TO HOSPITAL
British royal Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, has been admitted to hospital after suffering a chest infection.
The 86-year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth II was taken to London’s King Edward VII Hospital on Thursday (03Apr08) for assessment and treatment for the illness.
A spokeswoman for the couple’s official residence Buckingham Palace has confirmed the news, adding, "His Royal Highness’s programme of engagements for the weekend have been cancelled." The Prince sparked fears for his health on Wednesday (02Apr08) when he missed the service of thanksgiving for Mount Everest conqueror Sir Edmund Hillary at Windsor Castle.
