MC BREED JAILED
LATEST: Rapper MC BREED has been jailed for five months for failing to pay over $200,000 (£100,000) in child support to three different women.
The Ain’t No Future In Yo’ Frontin’ star - real name Eric T. Breed - missed the last three years of support payments, and recently served eight months behind bars for unpaid child maintenance costs. His failure to pay on that occasion was deemed a violation of the terms of his parole for a previous crime.
He was taken into police custody on Thursday (03Apr08) after authorities were tipped off about his appearance at a Michigan record store Music Planet for a signing that afternoon.
On Friday (04Apr08), Breed’s lawyer Jay Clothier told Judge Jennie Barkey that his client’s career has been on the downside and it has made it difficult for him to pay the child support.
But Barkey sentenced Breed to 150 days in jail for all three child support cases and an $18,000 (£9,000) bond.
