MATCHBOX TWENTY CANCEL GIG OVER ANIMAL RIGHTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:41 pm

Rockers MATCHBOX TWENTY have cancelled a gig at a rodeo event in Wyoming over concerns about animal welfare.
The Bent hitmakers had been scheduled to appear at the Cheyenne Frontier Days show, billed as the world’s largest outdoor rodeo, on 18 July (08).
But the band have now pulled out, insisting they cannot condone the practice, which sees bulls lassoed by horseriders in a large arena.
Lead singer Rob Thomas writes on the group’s website, "We ask that (fans) please understand that it would be impossible for us to put ourselves in the position of making money from what we believe to be the mistreatment of animals." The Grammy-winning band is still scheduled to perform this summer at the North Dakota State Fair on 19 July (08), which also includes rodeo events.
