FRIEL TURNED DOWN COWELL RECORD DEAL
PUSHING UP DAISIES star ANNA FRIEL was once offered a $2 million (£1 million) recording contract by AMERICAN IDOL judge SIMON COWELL - but turned it down to concentrate on her acting career.
The 31-year-old beauty was starring in British soap opera Brookside in the 1990s when the music mogul approached her with the multi-million dollar offer.
But Friel was not tempted by the lure of pop stardom and refused to give up her acting.
She says, "I was perfect fodder but my goal had always been to act."
