British funnyman BEN ELTON is set to reunite with ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER for the much-anticipated PHANTOM OF THE OPERA sequel.
Elton and Lloyd Webber worked together on 2000 London musical The Beautiful Game and now the former comedian will write the book to accompany the composer’s music and Glen Slater’s lyrics for the sequel to what has become the most successful stage musical of all time.
Elton has become an unlikely hit on the West End stage and internationally thanks to his work on the musicals We Will Rock You and Tonight’s The Night.
