FARRELL SICKENED BY BOSNIAN TRAGEDY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:59 pm

COLIN FARRELL has been left deeply disturbed after a visit to Bosnia to research a new film role.
The Irish actor spent the weekend (05-06Apr08) in Srebrenica, where thousands of Muslims were slaughtered during the bloody 1992-1995 Bosnian War.
Farrell, who plays a photojournalist covering the conflict in new film Triage, admits he felt "sick" after visiting the town’s cemetery.
He tells Reuters, "It is hard to describe how obviously the air and the land has been poisoned by the act of killing 8,000 people in the space of a day.
"But you really do get the sense of the pain and the loss and I am sad, I really am sad."

McCONAUGHEY’S SNAKE FEAR ON FILM SET

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:56 pm

Actor MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY struggled to get a good night’s sleep while working on latest movie FOOL’S GOLD in Australia, because he lived in constant fear of snake attacks.
The Hollywood hunk isn’t usually afraid of the reptiles and even kept some as pets during his stay Down Under.
But he hated finding unexpected visitors in his bedroom and was always on edge when night fell.
He says, "It’s amazing how quickly you shower when you think there might be a python in your room.
"There were heaps of weird creatures around in Queensland when we were shooting Fool’s Gold. I had an eight foot (2.4 meter) python in the coconut tree in my back yard and a six foot (1.82 meter) python in my shed. It’s one thing having pythons in your garden and knowing they’re there; it’s a lot more unsettling knowing they’re somewhere about but you don’t know where. So I was going through every closet and checking under the bed.
"Every time I took a bath I got nervous. I’d be washing my hair with my eyes closed and be thinking, ‘What am I not seeing right now?’ With pythons about, you quickly get used to sleeping with one eye open." Snakes weren’t the only creatures McConaughey and his Fool’s Gold co-star Kate Hudson had to contend with in Australia - they also had to be careful to avoid the giant killer jellyfish iricongi while shooting underwater scenes for the adventure movie.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:56 pm

KEITH RICHARDS is a secret skiier, after learning the sport during two long winter spells at a drug clinic in Switzerland.
The Rolling Stones guitarist decamped to the Alps at the height of his drug addiction in the 1970s to clean up and get healthy. And he passed time by heading for the piste.
Richards reveals, "You try living in Switzerland for two bloody winters. You almost go bananas, because it’s sheer gloom.
"And suddenly someone says, `Up there, there’s bright sunshine and loads of things happening. All you’ve got to do is put these silly things on your feet.’ "I started out on the nursery slopes and four-year-olds were going by me, going, `Ha ha ha ha.’ But in two weeks… baby, I’m rocking down the moguls (bumps) and ending up at the bar, having a snifter (drink)."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:50 pm

Actor LUKE McFARLANE, who plays a homosexual on hit TV series BROTHERS & SISTERS, has `come out’ as gay in real life.

In Brothers & Sisters, McFarlane’s character is preparing to wed his gay lover, Kevin Walker - played by Matthew Rhys, and he hopes the plot will help viewers with anti-gay prejudices.

EMPLOYEES COME TO LOWE’S DEFENCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:47 pm

LATEST: ROB LOWE’s current and former employees have come forward to defend the actor after an ex-nanny accused him of sexual harassment.
Jessica Gibson filed a lawsuit in California on Monday (14Apr08) alleging Lowe placed his hand inside her "pants in order to touch her crotch" and "grabbed Gibson’s buttocks without consent" several times between September 2005 to January 2008.
Gibson also alleges Lowe repeatedly exposed his penis to her, as well as frequently asking her "to touch his penis." But now Lowe’s estate manager, Carol Andrade, has led a charge to defend the actor, who faces a deposition with his accuser next month (19May08).
In a written declaration provided to Lowe’s legal team, and obtained by People.com, Andrade states Gibson never told her that Lowe "ever said or did anything that she found inappropriate or offensive or that made her feel uncomfortable… or made sexual advances toward her." Andrade has revealed she has supervised the nannies, chefs, drivers and housekeepers for Lowe, 44, and his wife, Sheryl, 46, for the last 18 months.
She is one of a group of current and former staff members who provided declarations to Lowe’s legal team.
In another declaration, Jennifer Dynof - one of the actor’s business associates - stated she’d never witnessed any questionable behaviour by her boss.
She writes, "I have never seen him make any sexual advances toward any other woman or act inappropriately, offensively or disrespectfully toward any woman."

He explains, "I’m married to an Italian, it’s impossible… I guess I wasn’t committed enough to the ethical reasons.
"I’m not a card-carrying member."

CAREY SYMPATHISES WITH SPEARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:41 pm

MARIAH CAREY sympathises with troubled singer BRITNEY SPEARS - because she knows better than most how difficult it can be to live her life under such media scrutiny.
The 38-year-old singer admits she struggled with fame in her early years in the music industry, but believes Spears is not doing herself any favours by associating herself with the wrong type of people.
She says, "It’s easy to say, ‘With Britney, this and that didn’t work out,’ but I’m not that presumptuous.
"I’ve experienced it myself. Setbacks come if you lead your life in the public eye and let people get closer to you than you should.
"But it was never as dramatic with me as it was with Britney. I’ve never done hard drugs and I always had a firm hold of somewhere."
