POISON’S ROCKETT PULLS GIG AFTER ARREST
LATEST: POISON drummer RIKKI ROCKETT was forced to cancel a gig in California on Saturday night (29Mar08), following his arrest on allegations of sexual assault.
The 46-year-old - real name Richard Allan Ream - was taken into police custody at Los Angeles’ LAX airport last Monday (24Mar08) after arriving back in his native U.S. on a flight from New Zealand.
He was then taken to Los Angeles County Jail, where he was detained on an outstanding arrest warrant for rape, which was originally issued in Neshoba County, Mississippi.
On Saturday, Rockett, who co-founded the 1980s rock group with singer Bret Michaels, was due to perform with his singer fiancee Melanie Martel at Rattlesnake Slim’s in Newhall, close to the couple’s home.
But the duo pulled out of the show on Friday (28Mar08), claiming they could no longer make the gig "due to what’s going on".
However, Rockett refused to elaborate further on his legal troubles, saying it was "because of his lawyers", according to TMZ.com.
