JIM CARREY credits his healthy diet for helping him stay young. The energetic 46 year old insists his childlike attitude keeps him feel young and his "veggies and protein" diet keeps him healthy and looking younger.
He says, "No wheat, no dairy for me. I go crazy once in a while and have a pizza… but I do believe that the best fuel for humans are (sic) veggies and protein. It makes you feel great." And he claims his new diet and regular trips to an acupuncturist have helped him deal with bouts of depression.
Carrey adds, "I tried dealing with it by taking (antidepressant) Prozac. It was good for a little bit, but it didn’t heal me.
"It didn’t get me to the bottom of my anger or frustration." Now off his medication, Carrey states, "It’s important to feel our feelings, and let things out to get to the bottom of things.
"It’s OK to say to your kid, `Daddy is going to cry now.’ "I take supplements. There are new (anti-depression) treatments not being offered to people.
"I am taking hydroxytryptophan and tyrosin - elements of the brain that are supposed to be there, but are short in a lot of people."

MADONNA’s former manager has testified he hired embattled Los Angeles private investigator ANTHONY PELLICANO to snoop on his son-in-law.
Freddy DeMann briefly testified in court on Thursday (27Mar08) in Pellicano’s ongoing wiretapping trial and revealed he paid the private detective $135,000 (GBP67,500) to keep an eye on his daughter Pilar’s then-husband.
DeMann suspected Paul Rusconi of cheating on his daughter and wanted proof of any infidelity.
The music mogul told the federal court Pellicano played him tapes of Rusconi talking to a number of different people, adding, "As far as I could tell, it was on the phone." DeMann claims the tapes revealed Rusconi’s "dalliances".
Pellicano is charged with wiretapping, racketeering and other crimes.
DeMann isn’t the only big name linked to the complex trial - Tom Cruise, Chris Rock, Steven Seagal, Farrah Fawcett and Warren Beatty have all been linked to the case.
Comedian Rock recently told Rolling Stone magazine he hired Pellicano in an effort to find out who was funding Monica Zsibrita’s paternity battle against him in 1998.
Rock said, "We kind of hired Pellicano to find out where the money was coming from. That was it." Meanwhile, Cruise was linked to the private detective when it emerged in court earlier this month (Mar08) that he hired Pellicano in a bid to uncover the identity of people following him.

One of PRINCESS DIANA’s most famous lines is to feature in the upcoming second season of TV hit THE TUDORS after producer MICHAEL HIRST insisted on putting it in the mouth of HENRY VIII’s mistress-turned-second wife ANNE BOLEYN.
Hirst was so excited when he realised Henry’s love triangle with Boleyn and his first wife Catherine of Aragon mirrored that of Prince Charles, Diana and Camilla Parker-Bowles, he insisted on making subtle links.
And when Boleyn scolds Henry, played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers, raging, "You can’t have three people in a marriage," Hirst admits the words are lifted straight from Diana.
He tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "I was very naughty. I had Anne Boleyn say it because it was an extraordinarily similar situation.

DENNIS QUAID, TYRESE GIBSON and LUCAS BLACK have joined PAUL BETTANY in the cinematic search for the second coming of JESUS CHRIST.
Bettany will play the Archangel Gabriel in the latterday Nativity Story, titled Legion.

RYAN PHILLIPPE is urging the American media to put the Iraq War back on the front pages of newspapers and at the top of TV news shows - because the soldiers have become forgotten men and women.
The actor, who plays a Iraq veteran in new movie Stop-Loss, admits the film has reawakened him to the atrocities in the Middle East, where thousands of U.S. troops are fighting a deadly battle.
He says, "It all became a little more personal spending time with the guys and getting to know them and hearing the truth of what it’s like to be there.
"We could see some of the pictures and hear some of the stories and try to go through some of the training but we never came close to knowing what it’s like to be there.
"Five years in and it does seem like the war has made it’s way to the back pages of the newspapers.
"We’ve had some of the bloodiest months with the highest casualties and it’s almost like the war is going on in the background, and the public, to some degree, wants it that way, or wants to ignore it - out of sight out of mind.
That bothers me."

The Prime Minister of The Netherlands has distanced himself from a controversial new anti-Islam film, insisting he "rejects" the theme of director GEERT WILDERS’ project.
Jan Peter Balkenende has spoken out after Dutch lawmakers gave Wilders permission to screen his violent 15-minute film, warning him he could become the target of protesters.
The film sets verses from Islam’s holiest book, The Koran, against the backdrop of terrorist attacks.
Upon hearing that top lawmakers had green-lighted Wilders’ plans to screen the film, Prime Minister Balkenende said, "The film equates Islam with violence. We reject this." The Netherlands was among the European nations targeted by violent protestors in 2006 when Muslims objected to anti-Islam cartoons, which mocked the prophet Muhammad, in local newspapers.

British funnyman RUSSELL BRAND has recreated JACK KEROUAC’s ON THE ROAD adventure for a new BBC documentary.
The actor/comedian recently travelled from Massachusetts to San Francisco, California - and admits he learned to love America along the way.
He tells WENN, "We were recreating one of the journeys of Jack Keroauc and Neil Cassady to commemorate On The Road.
"I had indulged the European prejudices that American people were stupid mostly because of the unnecessary war that’s been happening but then when I met American people they were extraordinary.
"People that I met in gas stations in Kansas were erudite and beautiful. I met two people who looked like proper yokel hillbillies with spaced out teeth and he’s talking to me about (author) Noam Chomsky and the Federal Reserve."

PETER O’TOOLE has great sympathy for those abused by Catholic priests as children - because he grew up surrounded by twisted clergy.
The movie great admits he was raised as a "holy Roman acolyte" in the 1940s, and though he was never targeted or sexually abused by a priest, he knew a lot of young boys who were.
The actor says, "Unfortunately there were some wonky priests who tried to touch you up… It was abominable. I was lucky; I wasn’t touched.
"The hard kids put a needle in their jeans so that when the priest went to touch them they got a nasty shock."

JAMIE LYNN SPEARS has been turned into hit movie JUNO’s pregnant teen for a hilarious spoof film ad in the June (08) issue of porn magazine Hustler.
The TV star’s face has been superimposed on actress Ellen Page’s character from the film’s poster for a fake movie, called Oh, No!.
The parody ad comes with bogus reviews from the likes of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Spears’ former brother-in-law Kevin Federline, who is accredited as saying, "Even I wouldn’t have f**ked Jamie Lynn… unless there was some cash in it." Hustler credits Hilton as saying, "You’ll laugh out loud and marvel at how superior you’ll feel to these real-life Beverly Hillbillies." While the magazine’s editors `quote’ Lohan as stating, "Those Spears girls make me look like I’ve got my s**t together." The ad concludes with the line, "This is not a real ad, but it is true that Britney Spears’s little sis is pregnant at age 16." And a blurb also offers the "bonus animated short film Lynne Spears: Mother of The Year." Lynne is Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears’ mum.

Reports of movie legend PAUL NEWMAN’s cancer battle are refusing to go away, even after his spokesperson recently insisted that hospital visits were nothing serious.
The 83-year-old star missed a fundraising event for his Hole in The Wall Gang children’s charity at the beginning of March (08), fuelling speculation he’s undergoing cancer surgery.
Newman has insisted he was simply being treated for "athlete’s foot and hairloss," but a patient of an unnamed New York state oncologist told the New York Post newspaper that the actor had been a regular visitor to their mutual doctor.
And now, U.S. tabloid the Globe claims Newman has just months to live in a new world exclusive expose.
The publication reports friends and neighbours haven’t seen Newman for months and some fear he’ll be dead before the end of 2008.
And a report on local news website WestportNow.com, which covers the Connecticut area where the actor and his wife Joanne Woodward live, claims Newman was recently rushed to hospital by amulance.
Those close to the Color of Money star insist his most recent hospital stay was prompted by "back troubles".
The Globe reports Newman’s visits to his oncologist are kept top secret because the medic’s clinic is located on the first floor of a residential high-rise building, and only those with appointments can get past door security.
One cancer patient, who has seen Newman at the top secret clinic, tells the publication, "Paul doesn’t openly talk much when he’s in the doctor’s waiting room. He just stares down at his hands."

KATE BOSWORTH blames a family tragedy for her drastic weightloss that left her looking skeletal thin in 2006.
Tabloids speculated about her skinny look, claiming it was due to the heartbreak following her split from actor boyfriend Orlando Bloom, but the actress reveals it was down to something much more serious.
Now looking healthy again, Bosworth says, "I went through a really tough time then.

DENNIS QUAID has threatened to sue staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles if they refuse to introduce a bar-code system to prevent medical mishaps.
The actor’s twin babies had to fight for their lives there last year (Nov07) when they were mistakenly given a near-fatal overdose of blood thinner Heparin and Quaid insists the mishap could have been avoided if there was a better system of marking medicines.
California regulators have already fined hospital bosses $25,000 (GBP12,500) after concluding the failure of staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to follow their own procedures resulted in incorrect doses of the drug being administered to Quaid’s infants and other children.
And the actor has revealed he may also take legal action if hospital chiefs don’t act to improve patient safety.
Speaking at the annual meeting of the Association of Healthcare Journalists on Thursday (27Mar08), Quaid said, "We want them to do the right thing. We’re still waiting, although time is running short for us." The Rookie star is championing the implementation of a bar-code system that scans all medication before it is administered to patients - to avoid mistakes like the one that almost cost his babies their lives.
This system has been recommended by America’s top medical experts.
He adds, "They have a bar-code system in every checkout stand of every supermarket in the country, so how could it be so complicated."

SEAN `DIDDY’ COMBS is still considering taking legal action against the Los Angeles Times newspaper after an article linked him to a 1994 attack on rapper TUPAC SHAKUR.
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chuck Philips claimed Diddy knew all about a gun attack on the late rapper, who lost his life two years later, and did nothing to stop it. Philips has since revealed his information was based on bogus documents.
The Times’ editors printed a front-page apology on Thursday (27Mar08), but the rap mogul’s lawyer Howard Weitzman reveals Diddy was underwhelmed by it.
Weitzman says, "The Los Angeles Times apology is, at best, a first step, but it doesn’t undo the false and defamatory nature of the story, or the suspicion and innuendo that Mr. Combs has to endure due to these untruthful allegations and the irresponsible conduct of this particular reporter." Times editor Russ Stanton has launched an internal review of the documents and the working methods involved in the reporting of the story.
He says, "We published this story with the sincere belief that the documents were genuine."

LYNYRD SKYNYRD’s late rockers are set to be brought back from the dead on the group’s new album after guitarist GARY ROSSINGTON discovered a lost track in his archives.
Rossington unearthed an old track recorded by the original members of the Southern rock act in the 1970s.
He says, "Going back in the archives, actually, I found this old song that we did with the original band, with Ronnie Van Zant singing, Leon (Wilkeson) on bass, and Bob Burns is on drums.
"It’s a cool track, it’s called Cottonmouth Country. We never put it out…
We just kind of let it sit there, and never finished it.
"It’s pretty well done, but the recording isn’t as good as it should be, but we might put it out as a bonus track on the new album.
"It’s a whole new Skynyrd song nobody’s heard. It’s pretty wild, pretty cool lyrics. It’s about the swamps." Original members Van Zant and Steve and Cassie Gaines died in a plane crash in 1977, which left bandmate Allen Collins paralysed. Wilkerson died in 2001.

LATEST: British singer CORINNE BAILEY RAE has thanked fans around the world for their support, a week after her husband died from a drug overdose.
The body of saxophonist Jason Rae was discovered in a Leeds, England flat last Saturday (22Mar08). He was 31, and had been married to the Grammy winner for seven years.
A week on, Bailey Rae has released a statement through her manager Bob Miller, which reads, "Corinne Bailey Rae and her family have been touched by the huge amount of love and support that’s flooded in from all over the world.
"That is really helping all of us cope at this terrible time. Corinne is also very grateful for the privacy she is being given and the respect that has been paid to herself and Jason."

DEPECHE MODE rocker DAVE GAHAN is angry about rumours his heroin and cocaine drug overdose in 1996 was a suicide attempt - because he didn’t want to die.
The former hellraiser was pronounced clinically dead after combining the drugs - known as a speedball - in a Los Angeles hotel room.
He was revived by paramedics and survived, and has spent the last eleven years convincing doubters he didn’t intend to kill himself.
Now 45, Gahan tells Hustler magazine, "I’m painfully aware that was not what I was trying to do. All I was trying to do was disappear for a while, and that became a lost weekend." Despite dodging death, Gahan, is convinced his will to live helped him survive the overdose.
The now-clean star explains, "(I survived) because I wanted to. Booze and drugs can be fun for a while, and then they’re not. That’s just the way it goes. There’s nothing new.
"What I thought I wanted to do in my life was escape constantly from whatever it was that was going on. That is not the case anymore. I’m here and I really enjoy the challenge of life."

Hip-hop svengali JIMMY ROSEMOND is to sue the Los Angeles Times over an article the newspaper printed linking him to TUPAC SHAKUR’s murder.
Rosemond, who manages the Game and Gucci Mane, was named in the same article that connected rap mogul Diddy to a 1994 gun attack on Shakur.
The newspaper’s deputy managing editor Marc Duvoisin and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chuck Philips, who wrote the Times piece has since publicly apologised.
The newspaper also ran a full apology on it’s front page on Thursday (27Mar08) after Diddy’s attorney demanded a retraction.
And while Diddy is still considering legal action against the newspaper’s bosses, for printing an article based on fabricated information, Rosemond is keen to strike.
He’s intent on suing the Times for damages.
He tells RollingStone.com, "The rumour was always there but when a person like L.A. Times’ Pulitzer Prize winner Chuck Philips writes about it, the folklore becomes real for my life and everybody’s life around me." Rosemond reveals Philips and his bosses were warned about publishing the article, which first surfaced online last weekend (23Mar08), and then appeared in print this week (beg24Mar08).
He adds, "Myself, along with my attorney, emailed him (Philips) and his chief editor, saying we don’t know where you are getting your information from but whatever you’re about to write is going to be a lie because we just know that there ain’t no truth to this.
"Phillips emailed us back stating that he would not be frightened out of writing his truth with scare tactics… We blatantly tried to warn them that they were getting into something that they had no idea what it was." Rosemond claims the article has cost him potential clients: "There’s a few guys that won’t meet with me because of this."
