BECKINSALE WANTS 24 ROLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:00 pm

KATE BECKINSALE is begging the producers of hit TV show 24 to hand her a role alongside its star KIEFER SUTHERLAND.
The British actress is hooked on the real-time drama, and would love to play the head of the fictional Counter Terrorist Unit, and become the boss of Sutherland’s character Jack Bauer.
She tells AOL movies, "I’m compulsively addicted to 24. I love that show.
Just hearing the music of it makes me feel so confident … (Maybe) I can be the head of CTU."

  • GELLAR TOO TIRED FOR PORN SCENES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:57 pm

Hollywood actress SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR was too tired to perform a sex scene in her 2006 movie SOUTHLAND TALES - because she had just feasted on turkey.
The Buffy The Vampire Slayer actress plays a porn star in the movie, but was disappointed when she couldn’t partake in an intimate scene with full gusto, because all she wanted to do was sleep.
The 30-year-old had binged on a huge Thanksgiving meal of turkey - which contains chemicals that make you lethargic - just before she was due to film the scene.
She tells Maxim magazine, "For a porn star, I didn’t get much action. I filmed a love scene on Thanksgiving, and I had eaten all this turkey and mashed potatoes and was like, ‘I seriously have to film a sex scene right now?’ "I was so tired from all the tryptophan (an amino acid in turkey that makes you sleepy) that I just wanted to sleep."

  • ‘EVIL’ MORGAN WINS CELEBRITY APPRENTICE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:57 pm

British journalist-turned-U.S. TV talent show judge PIERS MORGAN beat country star TRACE ADKINS to win Thursday night’s (27Mar08) live final of DONALD TRUMP’s CELEBRITY APPRENTICE.
Morgan won the battle - billed by Trump as "good versus evil" - by raising the most money for his chosen charity, thanks to a little help from music mogul pal Simon Cowell, who handed over $100,000 (£50,000) for a shopping trip with Trump’s daughter Ivanka.
Former British royal Sarah Ferguson and musical maestro Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber also stepped in, with the theatre impresario donating a pair of opening night tickets for the Phantom of the Opera sequel he is currently writing.
They helped Morgan raise $376,000 (£188,000) at an auction he held for his charity Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund - which helps soldiers wounded in combat and the families of those killed at war.
His win guaranteed the charity a further $250,000 (£125,000).
But Morgan’s tactics in beating rival Adkins didn’t win him fans in the U.S.
Network bosses at NBC have been inundated with complaints about his ruthless style.
Trump, however, paid tribute to the man he described as a "vicious guy", saying, "You did an amazing job and you beat the hell out of everybody. And you won by far more than anybody."

  • MOORE’S FAHRENHEIT 9/11 DID NOT DEFAME WAR VETERAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:57 pm

Filmmaker MICHAEL MOORE has been cleared over allegations of defamation relating to TV interview footage he used in his documentary FAHRENHEIT 9/11 without asking the respondent’s permission.
U.S. Army Sergeant Peter Damon, an Iraq war veteran who lost both of his arms when a helicopter he and a colleague were servicing exploded, claims he was left humiliated and emotionally distressed after Moore included video footage of the traumatic incident in the 2004 film.
Fahrenheit 9/11 documents the affects the 2001 terrorist attacks had on the U.S., and looks into Moore’s argument that President George W. Bush’s administration allegedly used the event to press ahead with an unjust war in the Middle East.
Damon sued Moore for his inclusion in film, in which he comments about a new painkiller used by the military on wounded soldiers.
He alleged the way the video clip was used makes it look like he was "voicing a complaint about the war effort". Instead, he claims he was complaining about the "excruciating type of pain" of his injuries.
When Damon’s original lawsuit was thrown out of court, he took the case to the federal appeals court.
However, in a ruling on 21 March (08), Judge Aida Delgado-Colon of the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that while Damon’s frustration at the matter was understandable, the video footage was not considered defamatory and dismissed the lawsuit altogether.
Delgado-Colon told the court: "There is no reason to believe that a reasonable member of the military or veteran community would conclude that Damon’s appearance in the documentary conveyed a defamatory meaning, and therefore lowered his reputation or subjected him to scorn, hatred, ridicule or contempt in that community." Damon is now looking to challenge the decision and take the case to the U.S.
    Supreme Court.
His lawyer Philip Moran says, "He totally disagrees with the tenor of Michael Moore’s position. He just felt he never should have been in the movie without his permission."

  • STONES PLANNING 23RD ALBUM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:54 pm

THE ROLLING STONES are planning to head back to the studio later this year (08) to begin recording their 23rd studio album.
The energetic sixtysomething rockers recently ended their two-year A Bigger Bang world tour - in support of 2005’s album of the same name - and are currently promoting Martin Scorsese’s movie documentary about them, Shine A Light.
But as soon as they get a break, Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards will sit down and write new tracks.
Guitarist Richards reveals, "I think we might make another album. Once we get over doing promotion on this film." And he insists the fact they have been rocking non-stop for more than 40 years, and are all aged between 60 and 66, isn’t enough to stop them in their tracks.
Crediting their unusual lifestyle for their longevity, he adds, "We love what we do, simple as that. We were the whipping hounds, you know, but that’s calmed down. Now we’re the wrinkled rockers, right? But I still have the energy. I put that down to not eating a lot. And drinking a lot. Not eating a lot, and good weed. Honestly I’d do this job even if I were in a wheelchair." Drummer Charlie Watts is particularly keen to keep working, claiming he gets ill whenever he stops: "I think we should carry on. It seems that whenever we stop I get ill. The last time we had a break I got throat cancer. I do all my exercises, I don’t smoke, and I don’t drink, yet I’m the one in the band that got it."

  • D12′S KON ARTIS SPEAKS OUT ON MANAGER’S RAPE ACCUSATIONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:54 pm

LATEST: D12 rapper KON ARTIS has attempted to distance his group from the sexual assault allegations levied against their manager JEREMY GEFFEN, by insisting they "know nothing" about his life outside the band.
Geffen, who was arrested on 13 March (08), stands accused of 14 felony counts including rape using drugs, possession of cocaine and providing cocaine to a minor - as well as two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.
The crimes are alleged to have taken place at a number of Hollywood nightclubs and Geffen’s home between 2006 and 2007.
And Kon Artis - also known as producer Mr. Porter - wants to make clear the Purple Hills hitmakers are not connected to the alleged crimes.
He says, "One thing I have to say in regards to this situation with our manager is that in no way, shape form or fashion do these actions have anything to do with D12.
"We have nothing to do with his personal life; personally I don’t know anything about his life outside of him being our manager." However, Kon Artis has wished Geffen well: "I hope that everything works out okay for him, and I hope it is a case that things got mixed up… I hope fans don’t take things the wrong way as we really don’t know much about the situation." Geffen, 35, is currently being held on bail of $2 million (£1 million) and faces up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted.

  • YOUNG BUCK JOURNALIST RESPONDS TO MANAGER’S ALLEGATIONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:54 pm

LATEST: The reporter who alleged rapper YOUNG BUCK has not received any royalty payments from his work with 50 CENT’s G-Unit Records is standing by his article, insisting he has the proof to back up the claims.
The Shorty Wanna Ride star, real name David Darnell Brown, was quoted in an interview with Yo! Raps Magazine bemoaning the fact he’d "never seen a royalty check" since signing with the imprint - despite releasing his two albums, 2004’s Straight Outta Cashville and 2007’s Buck The World, on the label.
His manager Sha Money XL blasted the reports earlier this week (24Mar08), insisting the quotes had been fabricated.
He said: "I, as Buck’s manager and as former President of G-Unit Records, want to make it clear: that is false. Young Buck has cleared over $10 million dollars working under 50 Cent’s and my guidance.
"We don’t know if a writer waited two months on the interview to stir up some new drama or just took his words wrong, but Buck is waving the G-Unit flag strong." But journalist Quinton Hatfield has responded to the verbal attack and defended his article.
In a statement, he says: "The interview was published within two weeks after I interviewed Young Buck, which is standard.
"I asked him how he felt about his last album Straight Outta Cashville in comparison to his latest effort, Buck The World, and he brought up show money.
So naturally, I asked him - is the show money that good? And that is when he said it was and that he hasn’t ever received a royalty check from G-Unit. That was something he felt he needed to get off his chest as an artist.
"I can’t speak for other journalists but in this instance though, what I reported is not a rumour. That is something he wanted to get off his chest. I can see if I was instigating the situation by asking a question like - I heard you didn’t get any royalties from 50, is that true? But I didn’t mention anything of the sort. Young Buck took the interview in that direction and I have the audio file to prove what Young Buck said."

  • CORGAN URGES WINEHOUSE & RADIOHEAD TO SET A BETTER EXAMPLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:48 pm

SMASHING PUMPKINS star BILLY CORGAN has attacked RADIOHEAD and AMY WINEHOUSE for not setting a better example to emerging acts.
The rocker admits he feels sorry for wannabe stars because they have no role models in the music industry to look up to, insisting that’s why so many talented people are forced to try their luck on reality TV contests.
Corgan says, "I think it’s really difficult for the young artist, who doesn’t have at least some sense of a pathway.
"If you were a kid today and you’re looking at the bands who are successful right now, you think, if you don’t sort of sell out and let somebody make you a star, go on American Idol, then you can’t be successful.
"And when the message on Amy Winehouse is drama is better than music, and, for Radiohead, publicity is better than music - no disrespect to them - I think it’s a bad message to young bands of how to make it happen.
"It’s almost like the evil stepchild of the rap bling-bling thing: ‘The only way to make it work is I’ve got to come up with a gimmick.’"

British funnyman SACHA BARON COHEN has sparked outrage in Kansas - by stripping down to a pair of hotpants and terrorising locals.
The actor is currently filming his latest movie Bruno - a mockumentary about a homosexual Austrian TV presenter - and gathering footage of his interaction with locals.
But the oddball character’s outrageous dress sense has not gone down too well with respectable Kansans and local newspapers have reported that a "European man" was "putting security on red alert" by "stripping down to tight shorts and dancing in the lobby of Wichita Airport".
And the high jinx hasn’t ended there - Cohen and his crew are reported to have disrupted an Easter play at a Kansas church by turning up in "chains".

  • ROWLING ATTACKED OVER ‘INHUMANE’ CZECH CARE COMMENTS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:42 pm

A Czech lawmaker has launched a scathing attack on HARRY POTTER author J.K.
ROWLING for criticising the country over its care institution ethics.
Miloslav Macela, who overlooks social care standards in the country’s Pardubice region, has accused the star of upsetting his staff with her "unjustified criticism".
In 2004, Rowling denounced Czech care institutions, including children’s and psychiatric wards, for their use of caged beds, and claimed the children in care were imprisoned for the majority of the day.
Macela has since fired off a letter to Rowling asking the literary star to visit the institutions she verbally attacked.
The letter reads: "Since you opened your mouth, the work of our employees has been the subject of unjustified criticism." Her comments, posted in an article by Britain’s Sunday Times newspaper, were believed to have prompted the Czech government to reconsider the use of caged beds - leading to them being banned in early 2007.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:42 pm

Actress KATE BOSWORTH may star in a new film about winning millions in top Las Vegas casinos - but she insists she is not a fan of gambling.
The 21 actress plays a college student who cheats her way to winning big in Sin City but the star is adamant she would never fritter away her earnings on a Roulette wheel.
Bosworth tells New York Daily News, "I’m all or nothing, within a safe boundary. I’ll play blackjack, with a $25 (£12.50) chip, for however long it lasts. I don’t bet big." However, Ben Mezrich, who is the author of Bringing Down the House - the basis for 21 - is keener to put down large sums of money on a card game.
He says, "I’m not that big a gambler. You know, only $20,000 (£10,000) here or $30,000 (£15,000) there. I know how to count cards, but I couldn’t walk in and take a casino right now."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:42 pm

Actress RENEE ZELLWEGER has branded her co-star GEORGE CLOONEY a "spoil sport" - because he would never let her fool around on set.
The pair star together in Leatherheads, a romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s football, but Zellweger was constantly told off by Clooney - who also directs the movie - for playing with the replica pigskin balls.
But the 38-year-old insists she "couldn’t help" herself when it came to throwing the balls in her period costume.
Zellweger tells Parade magazine, "I had on my hat with the feather, and my little high heeled buckled shoes and gloves while I was throwing the pigskin, but I couldn’t help myself.
"When I gave it a toss, the director, that would be Mr. Clooney, scolded me and said, ‘You put that thing down. What am I going to do with you when you miss and take one on the nose and we’ve got a close up? Put that ball down.’ I thought he was a spoil sport."
