FLEETWOOD MAC STAR UPSET ABOUT CROW CONFIRMATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:29 pm

FLEETWOOD MAC star LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM has hit back at reports SHERYL CROW will become a member of the supergroup when it tours in 2009, insisting her announcement is a little premature.
Buckingham has confirmed speculation the group is planning to record and tour next year (09), but adds the idea of adding bandmate Stevie Nicks’ pal Crow to the line-up in nothing but a talking point at the moment.
That’s why he was a little shocked when singer/songwriter Crow went public with news she would be joining the band as a replacement for Christine McVie.
He tells Billboard.com, "I don’t think anything is written in stone yet. I think we were all a little surprised she was announcing that to the world with such certainty.
"We have talked about the possibility of bringing another woman into the scene to kind of give Stevie (Nicks) a sort of foil and shake it up a little bit (and) she was certainly a name that has come up. We’ll have to see." McVie retired from the band a decade ago.

X-MEN star HUGH JACKMAN is set to go from comic book character to comic book creator after teaming up with screenwriter MARC GUGGENHEIM for a new sci-fi thriller.
The Aussie actor, who plays Wolverine in the X-Men films and is currently reprising the hairy character in a spin-off movie, has developed a new series for Virgin Comics, called Nowhere Man.
The project is a joint venture between Jackman and Guggenheim, who adapted the Wolverine story for the big screen.

WILDER CURSES MOVIE SWEAR WORDS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:23 pm

Veteran comedian GENE WILDER has called on Hollywood to cut back on excessive swearing in films.
The Stir Crazy star is fed up with hearing curse words in modern movies, and wishes writers would try and pen less predictable dialogue that relies more on invention than vulgarity.
Wilder, 74, says, "I’m so tired of the ‘F’ word in movies. Jimmy Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Spencer Tracy, Clark Gable - they didn’t have to swear and they were powerful. You got everything.
"There’s a film… I saw that if you didn’t read or hear the dialogue, it is a good story. And then every third sentence, every 2.5 sentence, they start (swearing) and it puts me off."

Then I hit the water and swam.

He adds, "They stick something through your back and pump the lung up, and whatever decibel your scream is, that’s how they know they’ve penetrated the lung.

FALL OUT BOY POSTPONE SEVEN-CONTINENT CONCERT TREK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:17 pm

Rockers FALL OUT BOY have been forced to postpone their ambitious around-the-world-in-a-day tour - because of bad weather.
The group had planned to include a show in Antarctica on its seven-continent record-breaking trek, but all flights there were cancelled on Tuesday (25Mar08), due to weather conditions.
Frontman Patrick Stump says, "We were sort of aware that this might happen, but, to be honest, we’re just hoping some other band doesn’t slip in by boat or something and set the world record right under our noses." Fall Out Boy are now hoping to have another go at the seven-continent feat on Wednesday (26Mar08) - if weather conditions permit.
And when the band eventually gets to Antarctica, bassist Pete Wentz already has some idea of what the frozen continent will be like: "It’ll be like Hoth, that ice planet in Star Wars." He’s also hoping to have his photo taken with his arm around a penguin.

PRESLEY CONFIRMS UNLICENSED SURGEON OPERATED ON HER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:17 pm

LATEST: ELVIS PRESLEY’s ex-wife PRISCILLA has confirmed an unqualified plastic surgeon performed a botched cosmetic procedure on her in 2003.
The socialite and actress, who is among the celebrities taking part in the current season of U.S. reality TV show Dancing With The Stars, was a client of Dr. Daniel Serrano, who was jailed for injecting industrial, low-grade silicone into women’s faces.
The unlicensed Serrano claimed his injections worked better than Botox, but the non-approved drug he smuggled into America from Argentina left some clients with holes in their faces and paralysis.
Serrano was indicted for smuggling drugs, and the conspiracy and use of unapproved drugs, and convicted.
He was released last week (ends21Mar08) and is currently being investigated by federal immigration officials, and could be deported.
Presley’s representative has now confirmed the Naked Gun star was operated on by Serrano, a day after the story first broke.
The spokesperson says, "Priscilla Presley was one of many documented victims of Dr. Serrano. An investigation which uncovered his misconduct ultimately lead to his imprisonment. Ms. Presley dealt with this matter years ago and everything is well."

MANZAREK WINS RIGHT TO APPEAL BREACH OF CONTRACT LAWSUIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:17 pm

An appeals court has reopened a breach of contract lawsuit brought by THE DOORS keyboardist RAY MANZAREK against an insurance firm.
Manzarek’s case against St. Paul Fire And Marine Insurance Company was dismissed by a district court in 2006, a decision that was overruled by the U.S. 9th Circuit Court Of Appeals in San Francisco, California on Tuesday (25Mar08).
The 69-year-old had sued the firm when it declined to provide insurance coverage for losses sustained by Manzarek and Doors Touring, Inc. when The Doors drummer John Densmore successfully won a legal battle to stop Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger from touring as The Doors Of The 21st Century.
Manzarek took out a commercial liability insurance policy covering himself against advertising injury, which includes losses from slander, libel and privacy infringement, in 2002 to 2003.
When Densmore’s 2003 lawsuit cost Manzarek over $3 million (£1.5 million), the keyboard player notified St. Paul Fire And Marine Insurance Company, who declined to provide insurance.
Manzarek then sued for breach of contract, but the case was thrown out of court in 2006.

LETO’S WEIGHT GAIN NIGHTMARE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:59 pm

Actor JARED LETO has vowed never to fatten-up for a movie role again, after he piled on 60 pounds (27.2 kilograms) to play JOHN LENNON’s killer - and ended up in a wheelchair.
Leto is still suffering the side effects of "gorging and force-feeding" himself for the role of Mark Chapman in Chapter 27, and he fears he will never regain his once-fit physique.
More than a year after the film debuted at January 2007’s Sundance Film Festival, Leto says, "I’d never do it again; it definitely gave me some problems.
"I don’t know if it was gout - but I had a definite problem with my feet.
Towards the end of the shoot, one of the glaring issues was the pain I had with my feet. I couldn’t walk for long distances; I had a wheelchair because it was so painful. My body was in shock from the amount of weight I gained.
"It took about a year to get back to a place that felt semi-normal. I don’t know if I’ll ever be back to the place I was physically." But the 36-year-old stands by his decision to gain so much weight - insisting it enabled him to capture the spirit of Chapman, who shot Lennon dead outside his New York apartment in 1980.
Leto explains, "It was important to make that transformation because I thought his physical representation of himself was an indication of who he was.
And it changed everything about who I was - the way I walked , the way I talked, the way I felt about myself, the way people treated me.
"It was an interesting experience. It was interesting to see people reactions - particularly people I knew but hadn’t seen in a while and who obviously thought I’d let myself go."

MOORE’S BLOODSUCKING TREATMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:56 pm

DEMI MOORE travelled to Austria to undergo a bloodsucking leech treatment in a bid to stay young and healthy.
The 45-year-old actress admits she is constantly searching for "the cutting edge in health and healing" and subjected herself to the wacky therapy session during a recent stay at a European spa.
She tells talk show host David Letterman, "A month ago I was in Austria doing a cleanse. And one treatment was leech therapy. These aren’t swamp leeches, they were highly trained medical leeches. High level bloodsuckers.
"It detoxifies your blood. And they have a little enzyme that when they are biting down on you is released in your blood.
"It crawls into your belly button and it bites down and then you relax and you watch it swell up and get fatter and fatter. And when it’s super drunk on your blood, it just rolls over like its drunk in a bar.
"You first feel worse and then you feel better. I’m feeling very detoxified."

RONSON’S TRACK REFUSAL UPSETS THERON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:56 pm

Celebrated DJ MARK RONSON upset Hollywood superstar CHARLIZE THERON at a recent party - after he snubbed her requests to play reggae music.
The producer was performing a set in Milan, Italy, and was twice approached by a member of the Monster star’s entourage stating the star wished to listen to her favourite genre.
But Ronson refused the requests, insisting the slow-beat musical style would ruin the party atmosphere he had struggled to create.
The South African beauty was so enraged, she complained to the club’s bosses.
Ronson tells Britain’s OK magazine, "I was DJ-ing in Milan and it had taken a while to get everyone on the dancefloor. I finally did and then this guy runs up to me and says, ‘Charlize Theron wants you to play some disco reggae.’ I didn’t even know what that was meant to be so I ignored it.
"Then 20 minutes later the same guy says, ‘Charlize wants you to play some dancehall reggae.’ I knew if I played that it would clear the dancefloor. Then Charlize came up to me herself and asked why I wasn’t playing it.
"It was all a bit weird, she nearly got the poor guy fired who was running the party!"
