SEGEL’S DREAMS COME TRUE ON MUPPETS MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:50 pm

Writing the new MUPPETS movie is a dream come true for funnyman JASON SEGEL he grew up wanting to be KERMIT THE FROG.
The actor/writer begged Disney bosses to let him pen the new film, and when they initially turned him down he wowed them with his knowledge of the loveable puppet stars.
The Knocked Up star says, "I’ve had a fascination with puppets my entire life. I remember thinking that Kermit The Frog was Tom Hanks. He was the everyman, like Jimmy Stewart.
"I wanted to be him, which was weird because I knew he was a puppet but I still wanted to be Kermit The Frog.
"I went to Disney and I said, ‘Guys, I would like to write the new Muppet movie,’ and there was a weird spattering of laughter in the room.
"Then I pitched it to them and gave them my Muppets knowledge and they brought the pitch, so it’s a little boy’s dream come true."

MATHEMATICS GENIUSES HELPED SPACEY WIN A SMALL FORTUNE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:47 pm

KEVIN SPACEY boosted his income while researching new gambling movie 21 by teaming up with real-life mathematics wizards.
The Oscar winner plays a mentor to a team of geniuses in the film, which is based on a real-life, get-rich-quick plot staged by Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) whizzkids in Las Vegas.
Spacey researched his role with the real MIT experts, who can no longer gamble in Las Vegas - and they’d stand behind him and "nudge" him towards big wins.
Spacey boasts, "I’m horrible at math. I failed basic math my last semester of high school.
"But when we were doing research we went to Las Vegas, while we were trying to put the movie together and we went with a couple of the MIT guys who were on the teams, counting cards.
"Although they’re not allowed to play, the casinos didn’t mind that they were with us so they stood behind my chair as we played 21 and whenever they wanted me to up my bet they just sort of nudged me and I won every time."

INDIANA FAMILY GIVE SWAYZE CANCER CURE HOPE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:47 pm

Movie star PATRICK SWAYZE has been given a huge boost in his pancreatic cancer battle - an Indiana family has launched a campaign to force U.S. medical bosses to make a revolutionary new treatment available to sufferers.
The Loughmans of Indianapolis launched their new initiative on Monday (24Mar08) in a desperate bid to find a cure for the family matriarch, who ironically is a big fan of the ailing Ghost star.
Connie Loughman was diagnosed with deadly pancreatic cancer last summer (Aug07), just months before Swayze was diagnosed (Jan07).
As part of their public campaign, the Loughman family has launched the website CureConnieAndPatrick.com and they’ve also produced a new video promoting their efforts.
A spokesman for the Loughmans says, "Well-meaning, but misguided, regulations have tied the hands of the Food & Drug Administration and the biotechnology firm, Genvec, from providing access to the only drug shown to cure the disease.
"Meanwhile, 90 per cent of patients die within one year of being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and 95 per cent are dead within five years of diagnosis.
"The Loughman family hopes that public pressure will convince the FDA and biotechnology firm, Genvec, to cut through the red tape and grant access of the gene therapy TNFerade to Mrs. Loughman… and others battling pancreatic cancer, including actor Patrick Swayze."

PRESLEY CAUGHT UP IN CONVICTED SURGEON SCANDAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:41 pm

ELVIS PRESLEY’s ex-wife PRISCILLA is reportedly undergoing corrective surgery for a botched cosmetic procedure she had done in 2003.
The socialite and actress, who is among the celebrities taking part in the current season of U.S. reality TV show Dancing With The Stars, was a client of Dr. Daniel Serrano, who was jailed for injecting industrial, low-grade silicone into women’s faces, reports TMZ.com.
Serrano claimed his injections worked better than Botox, but the non-approved drug he allegedly smuggled into America from Argentina left some clients with holes in their faces and paralysis.
And he wasn’t even licensed.
Serrano was indicted for smuggling drugs, and the conspiracy and use of unapproved drugs, and convicted.
He was released last week (ends21Mar08) and is currently being investigated by federal immigration officials, and could be deported.
Presley’s publicist has issued a "no comment" to TMZ.com’s claims.
